Chapter 876 Seeing Off Guests
Chapter 876 Seeing Off Guests
Benjamin smirked slightly, wondering who had emboldened Anson to talk to him like that. He coolly replied, "Bring it on," keeping his arms crossed over his chest as he stood still in the wind.
Gavin, visibly concerned about Benjamin's position, warned loudly, "Watch out, Benjamin. Anson is no joke. He's had a Muay Thai coach since he was a kid. No one can match his skills in our generation!"
"Really?" Benjamin pretended surprise. "Sounds like I better step up my game." He playfully pointed his pinky finger at Anson and quipped, "I thought I could take you down without breaking a sweat, but it looks like I'll have to use this finger after all."
Anson had never faced such arrogance before. Being challenged with just a pinky finger pointed at him was a new level of disrespect. Through clenched teeth, he asked, "You're seriously gonna fight me with that pinky finger?"
"Yep," Benjamin affirmed. "I'll take you down with this finger. Even if I lose, I won't use any other finger or kick."
Anson was taken aback by his opponent's boldness. Benjamin's unwavering confidence hinted at a formidable challenge ahead.
"Fine, if I hurt you, it's on you for underestimating me!" Anson growled, focusing solely on the impending fight. With determination, he cleared his mind and launched a fierce Muay Thai assault towards Benjamin.
Aware that Benjamin would rely solely on his pinky finger, Anson wasted no time launching a vicious attack. He lunged forward with a flying elbow aimed straight at Benjamin's face. Benjamin, anticipating the move, skillfully dodged the elbow by a hair's breadth and lightly tapped Anson's chest with his pinky finger. Channeling his Inner Energy, Anson grunted and crumpled to the ground. The impact was intense, potentially life-threatening or causing serious harm. Luckily, Benjamin had no intention of taking Anson's life, using just enough Inner Energy to leave him gasping for air, struggling on the ground before losing consciousness.
The Chief of the Shadowthorn Tribe and Gavin were astonished by Benjamin's swift victory with a single move. Janet, familiar with Benjamin's prowess, remained unperturbed. Gavin gazed at Benjamin in awe, while the Chief helped Anson up, attempting to revive him.
Benjamin noted the effectiveness of his unique tapping technique, targeting specific areas with remarkable results. With a few precise taps, he managed to rouse Anson from unconsciousness.
Upon waking, Anson was disoriented, exclaiming, "Am I dead? Wait, Father, are you dead too?"
The Chief of the Shadowthorn Tribe promptly slapped the bewildered Anson and rebuked, "If you were dead, would you feel pain?"
Anson, holding his face, looked at his father in confusion and asked, "What just happened? How did I black out suddenly? Could he be using some kind of sorcery?"
In the Echo Region, tales of sorcery and Poison Gu abounded. Though these practices were rare and shrouded in secrecy, the stories they grew up with instilled a deep-rooted fear of sorcery in them.
During the showdown between Anson and Benjamin, the Chief of the Shadowthorn Tribe keenly observed Benjamin's minimal finger movement that led to Anson's collapse. It was evident that Benjamin had restrained himself, refraining from unleashing his full power; otherwise, Anson might have met his end.
Recognizing the stark power gap, the Chief grasped that even Anson, revered as unbeatable in the Shadowthorn Tribe, had succumbed easily to Benjamin's single-finger technique. It was crystal clear that others wouldn't stand a chance. In a real brawl, even if they ganged up on him, Benjamin would likely handle it effortlessly, possibly decimating the entire Shadowthorn Tribe with just two fingers.
The Chief of the Shadowthorn Tribe delivered another stinging slap to Anson and scolded, "Apologize to Mr. Smith this instant! He spared your life! If he had unleashed his full strength, would you even be breathing now?"
At this juncture, Anson grasped the extent of Benjamin's might. Not only did he lack the ability to provoke him solo, but even the entire Shadowthorn Tribe combined would likely fall short against Benjamin. With no other recourse, Anson rose to his feet, approached Benjamin, and offered a heartfelt apology, "I'm sorry, Benjamin, I was out of line."
"Louder, speak up," Benjamin prompted.
Anson had to repeat with more volume, "Benjamin, I'm sorry, I was out of line!" and added a bow.
Witnessing Anson's surrender, Benjamin opted not to prolong the embarrassment and stated plainly, "Janet is like family to me. I have to look out for her. Anson, let me be clear. My sister isn't interested in marrying you. You should seek someone else. Given your standing and qualities, finding a good wife in the Echo Region shouldn't pose a challenge."
Feeling a mix of resentment and defeat, Anson reluctantly conceded, "Fine, if that's how it is, then my engagement with Janet is off."
Benjamin nodded and addressed the Chief of the Shadowthorn Tribe, "Sir, I hope moving forward, the Shadowthorn Tribe and the Whitethorn Tribe can coexist peacefully, without any interference. Even if we can't collaborate, let's at least watch each other's backs like kin. We all call this place home. Is there really a need for deadly conflicts?"
Realizing his inability to best Benjamin, the Chief of the Shadowthorn Tribe, though suppressing his anger, nodded in agreement, displaying a humbled expression. He conceded, "Very well, let it be so. The Shadowthorn Tribe won't stir up trouble for the Whitethorn Tribe in the future."
Understanding the importance of honor among minority tribes, Benjamin trusted that with the Chief's commitment to peace, they would uphold it.
With a gentle smile, Benjamin addressed the Chief of the Shadowthorn Tribe, "I apologize for any inconvenience. We'll take our leave now."
Subsequently, Benjamin, Gavin, and Janet turned and exited the villa's courtyard.
The Chief of the Shadowthorn Tribe instructed, "Anson, escort our guests out!"
Anson respectfully led the way, guiding Benjamin and the others out of the Shadowthorn Tribe's main camp.
The trio hopped into the car and triumphantly headed back to the Whitethorn Tribe's main camp. Janet, in high spirits, joined Gavin in a cheerful sing-along, making the journey back delightful and lighthearted.
