Chapter 21: It's Your Grandmother Who Delayed You

After going through a series of frustrations, Amelia lost all focus on her work. Seeing her so preoccupied, Zoe felt a deep sympathy.

"Amelia, take a paid day off today. Go home and rest well. Chloe is a hot potato; we need to be well-prepared to tackle her once and for all!"

Amelia, who was originally gloomy, couldn't help but smile at Zoe's energetic encouragement.

"Alright, I'll take your advice. I'm packing up and going home now. A paid vacation is just what I needed."

Feeling a bit more cheerful, Amelia warmly embraced Zoe, deciding to take things one step at a time regarding Chloe.

Amelia took a taxi back to the villa alone. The staff was busy and surprised to see Amelia returning early.

"Miss Amelia, why are you back from work early today?"

The butler approached to take Amelia's bag and documents.

Amelia rubbed her temples, expressing her helplessness:

"It's all because of your young master. Even with his upcoming marriage, he won't let me be. Chloe came to my studio, specifically asking me to design wedding dresses and evening gowns, and she's never satisfied. I'm utterly drained."

The butler was well aware of the eldest Miss Parker's ability to torment people, and as an outsider, he could see through the conflicts, but he had no right to interfere.

He truly felt for Amelia's predicament.

"Miss Amelia, let me have the kitchen prepare a soothing sleep-inducing soup for you. It will help you sleep well, and with good sleep, you'll have the energy to work effectively."

"Thank you, butler."

Amelia could barely keep her eyes open, exhaustedly collapsing onto the sofa, not wanting to move.

When the butler brought the revitalizing soup, he found Amelia had already fallen asleep. He woke her up, as it was almost dinner time, and it would be better for her to eat before sleeping.

Amelia got up and downed the soup in one go, not really tasting it, hoping for a psychological effect.

At dinner, Amelia barely ate a few mouthfuls and asked the butler to pack the food. She was feeling so down and wanted to seek comfort from her grandmother.

Today was a good opportunity to change her grandmother's diet; even in a high-end hospital, the menu can become monotonous.

Her grandmother had complained many times, and today was the chance to fulfill her wish.

Arriving at the hospital as dusk fell, Amelia saw many patients taking walks in the garden downstairs.

She went upstairs and encouraged her grandmother to take a walk as well, enjoying dinner amidst the natural scents and sounds.

Her grandmother was overjoyed to see her granddaughter and ate several more mouthfuls of food.

Having just completed dialysis that afternoon, walking was beneficial for her health.

Looking at the sky, her grandmother lamented that she didn't have many days left to breathe such fresh air. Amelia sternly interrupted her pessimism:

"How could that be? I got you a talisman for safety; you have to live to a hundred for me!"

"Alright, a hundred years, a hundred years."

During their conversation, a ball rolled towards Amelia's feet. Looking up, she saw a lively and adorable little boy running towards her:

"Pretty auntie, can you give me back my ball?"

"Sure, here you go."

Amelia gently kicked the ball towards him, and it stopped right by the boy's feet.

The little boy's childish voice expressed his gratitude:

"Thank you, pretty auntie!"

Watching this, Amelia's grandmother's eyes filled with guilt. Despite Amelia's feigned scolding, she still apologized:

"Amelia, it's your grandmother who has held you back. If not for my poor health, you would have already started a family. I'm sorry, Amelia."

Hearing her grandmother's sighs again, Amelia patiently comforted her:

"Grandma, don't talk nonsense. How could you have delayed me? It's my choice. I want to settle down after my work is stable. Don't say that. I will seriously look for a partner during my work breaks, someone who will satisfy you as a good grandson-in-law. And if you say that again, I will be really angry. Your health is always my top priority."

Her grandmother, touched by her granddaughter's thoughtfulness, felt she must endure any pain for Amelia's sake, determined to see her granddaughter walk down the aisle, making her life complete.

She set a goal in her heart to persevere and live to a hundred, to hold Amelia's hand and entrust her to the man who would take care of her for life.

After visiting her grandmother, Amelia couldn't stay overnight at the hospital, and she still had work to complete. After soothing her grandmother to sleep, Amelia returned to the villa.

Tired from the day, she planned to work for another two hours to revise her design draft.

However, sleepiness overcame her, and she unknowingly fell asleep on the table, too exhausted.

Thus, when Oliver returned home from work and entered Amelia's room, he found her sleeping at her desk.

Seeing her so hardworking, Oliver, in a rare act of kindness, wanted to carry her to bed.

Unexpectedly, the sudden physical contact made Amelia instinctively throw an elbow strike.

Oliver, caught off guard by the reaction of the sleeping woman, was hit and felt a pang in his chest.

Amelia, now awake, struggled to open her weary eyes and saw Oliver holding his chest.

With a teasing expression, he said:

"You're trying to murder me, with malicious intent."

Despite his words, he continued to move closer.

Amelia, realizing she had accidentally hurt Oliver, felt apologetic and wanted to explain. It was because his clothes carried the scent of Chloe's perfume, a smell she disliked, which led to the mishap.

In response to Oliver's advancing pressure and his wandering hands, Amelia did not resist but accommodated him, expecting the beast to go wild tonight.

However, the mockery in Oliver's eyes never dissipated.

This woman, who had struck him, was surprisingly obedient today, offering no resistance.

But seeing her struggling to keep her eyes open, Oliver couldn't muster any interest. He had intended to tease her.

Oliver's kissing skills were masterful; soon, Amelia was left weak and pliant from his kisses.

Amelia gently hooked her fingers into his underwear with both hands, slowly pulling it down from his hips. To make it easier for Amelia, Oliver slightly lifted his body, allowing his erect penis to easily slip out of his underwear.

The moment the penis was freed from its constraints, it sprang out vigorously.
