Chapter 480 Edward & Moira 25

Chapter 480 Edward & Moira 25

Edward went to Valhalla, bringing only Moira and Vance, just like taking two assistants on a business trip, no different from usual.

Upon arrival, they checked into a coastal hotel.

Vance had one room, and Edward and Moira shared another.

While organizing the suitcase, Moira asked, "Which company are we meeting today?"

Edward, sitting on the bed, looked at her with a smile, "Are you so eager to get me into work?"

Moira took out the toiletries and placed them in the bathroom, then continued organizing clothes, "Mainly so we can go back sooner. After all, there are still many businesses to handle back home."

Edward raised an eyebrow, "Is that really what you think?"

Moira responded affirmatively.

Edward leaned over, grabbed Moira's arm, and pulled her onto his lap, "Ask again, is that really what you think?"

Moira played with Edward's tie, "I just want you to finish the project quickly and then spend some time with me."

"So you were just saying the opposite of what you meant earlier?"

Moira lowered her eyes and said softly, "I was afraid that if I asked too much, you would be annoyed."

Edward noticed her cautiousness.

Perhaps it was her status as a lover that made Moira feel insecure.

The reason he considered giving Moira such a status before was mainly because he wasn't sure if Moira was suitable for him. After all, physical compatibility doesn't necessarily mean they match in personality or values.

However, after spending time together, Edward found that he liked her and thought they were well-matched.

The York family had enough capital and didn't need to marry into other families, so he didn't consider that his partner had to be from a wealthy or noble family. He just wanted someone he liked.

Edward said seriously, "I won't be annoyed. You need to be more confident."

Moira pursed her lips. She was just a lover; where would she get the confidence?

But she didn't say that. If she did, it would seem like she was eager to become his girlfriend.

Edward would definitely be annoyed by that, and she didn't want to leave him.

Edward saw her disappointment but didn't say anything. He patted her butt, "Go organize the clothes. Vance and I will go discuss the project. You wait for me at the hotel, and we'll have dinner together tonight."

Since unintentionally taking on the assistant role, Moira had only been responsible for Edward's meals. Although she had tried to learn some business skills, they had never been put to use.

She tugged at her lips, "Okay."

Edward didn't stay long, put on his suit, and left.

Hearing the door close, Moira let out a long breath and continued organizing the clothes.

She stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, looking at the beach not far away, where people of various skin tones were sunbathing.

She glanced at her watch, which had been adjusted to the local time. It was three o'clock in the afternoon.

She changed into a Bohemian-style long dress, put on beach sandals, put the room card and phone in her bag, and left the room.

Valhalla was in the summer season, so many people came to the beach for vacation.

Swimming in the sea, surfing, and enjoying the free-spirited sea breeze was incredibly relaxing.

Moira rarely had the chance to relax; she had been too tense lately.

Looking at the soft white sand, she took off her beach sandals and held them in her hands.

Watching two blonde, blue-eyed children building a sandcastle, she sat down quietly to watch.

She wondered if her and Edward's children would be as beautiful.

As soon as this thought appeared, she immediately dismissed it.

How could she deserve to have Edward's children?

At that moment, her phone vibrated in her bag.

She took it out and saw it was a call from Freya.

She hung up and called back, "Mom, I'm in Valhalla."

Freya asked, "Did you go to Valhalla on a business trip? With your boss?"

"Yes, and Vance too."

"Moira, I have to ask, are you and your boss dating? Is that why he helped you with such a big issue?"

Moira looked at the rolling waves, feeling a bit gloomy, "No, my boss just couldn't stand seeing me bullied. You know he's a rich kid; how could he be interested in someone like me? Mom, do you understand what 'matching social status' means? Someone as outstanding as my boss will definitely have a partner who can stand shoulder to shoulder with him. Whether it's family background, character, appearance, or talent, they will all be top-notch."

Freya responded, "I didn't mean anything by it. I'm just worried about you. If you're not dating, you should keep a certain distance from him. After all, many bosses nowadays demand their subordinates to sleep with them. I'm just worried your boss might ask you to sleep with him because of this. No matter how hard or difficult it gets, we can't sell our bodies. The physical harm aside, how would you heal emotionally?"

Moira responded lightly, "I understand."

Freya continued, "Moira, since the issue is resolved, why don't you come back home? Loshanda is nice, but the housing prices and cost of living are too high. You can find a job back home and a boyfriend..."

"Mom." Moira interrupted her, "I don't want to leave Loshanda yet. I'm used to the fast-paced life here, so please don't try to persuade me. At least for now, I don't want to leave. You and Dad live well back home, and don't let him get scammed again. Once I buy a house here, I'll bring you both to live with me. I have to go now, talk to you later."

She quickly hung up the phone and took a few deep breaths.

If her parents found out she was Edward's lover, they would be very disappointed.

At that moment, something hit her head.

She looked at the blue beach ball beside her, picked it up, and saw a five or six-year-old child running over.

The child apologized, touched her face, and reached out for the ball.

Moira found him particularly cute and handed the ball back to him.

The child held her hand, "Will you play with us? You seem lonely."

Moira smiled and let him lead her to build the sandcastle together.

Before she knew it, the sun was about to set over the horizon.

The two children had to leave with their parents.

They waved goodbye to Moira, and she felt a bit reluctant.

"Do you like children that much?"

Edward's voice came from behind her. Moira turned around and saw Edward in a white shirt and dark trousers, with his suit jacket draped over his arm, walking towards her.

Moira smiled and walked up to him, "Why didn't you call me?"

"If I called, I wouldn't have seen this innocent side of you."

Moira was stunned, "How long have you been watching?"

"Not long, just about half an hour." Edward bent his arm, his thin lips curving into a charming smile, "Ms. Sanders, may I invite you to dinner tonight?"

Moira glanced at Edward's arm, "What if I say no?"

Edward squinted his eyes, then bent down and hoisted her over his shoulder, walking forward.

Moira struggled, feeling her butt being slapped.

Edward smacked her butt, "Then I'll carry you there."
