Chapter 197 Using Others to Do Her Dirty Work
Chapter 197 Using Others to Do Her Dirty Work
"Also, step up the efforts and suppress all related negative news for me!"
"I don't want Olivia to see this filth anymore!"
"Yes, Mr. Green!"
Kevin quickly agreed.
On the other side, Tyrell soon learned about these rumors too.
He sat in his office, listening to his subordinate's nervous report with no expression on his face, but his eyes grew colder and colder.
"They're calling me a foolish man? Calling her a bitch?"
He let out a low laugh, but there was no warmth in it whatsoever.
"Great, so great."
He waved his hand to dismiss his subordinate and walked alone to the window.
Tyrell knew full well that someone must be behind this, and the prime suspect was that stupid woman, Katya.
But he wasn't in a rush to settle scores with Katya.
Because he realized that although these rumors were nasty,
they were also, in a way, tightly binding him and Olivia together.
This feeling...actually gave him a twisted sense of pleasure.
Just as public opinion was running wild, a real crisis was already closing in on Olivia.
That evening, Olivia worked late, dealing with the mess at her studio.
She declined Charles's offer to pick her up, wanting to drive herself home and clear her head.
As she walked alone toward the underground parking garage, she didn't notice that in a dark corner of the garage, inside a black van without license plates, several pairs of malicious eyes had been watching her for a long time.
The leader, a man with a scarred face, spoke quietly into his phone.
"Fox, the target has appeared; she's alone."
On the other end, Fox looked at the online comments about Tyrell being controlled by a woman, his eyes hardening. He gritted his teeth and said in a low voice,
"Proceed as planned! Move quickly!"
"Remember, just scare her a bit, don't cause real trouble and create problems for Tyrell!"
"Got it!"
The van door was gently pushed open.
Several dark figures silently slipped into the parking garage, closing in on that unsuspecting slender figure.
Olivia was looking down, rummaging through her bag for car keys, her high heels clicking against the ground, echoing in the empty parking garage.
Suddenly, she felt the light around her dim, as if someone was blocking the lamp.
She instinctively looked up, and her heart sank.
Three fierce-looking men had surrounded her in a semi-circle, blocking her path.
Olivia's heart raced with tension.
She instinctively stepped back, her spine pressing against the cold car door, with nowhere left to retreat.
"What do you want?"
Seeing the situation, Olivia forced herself to stay calm, but her voice trembled uncontrollably.
Her hand gripped the car keys tightly, the sharp edges digging painfully into her palm.
The leader was the scarred man. He grinned, showing a mouthful of yellow teeth, his eyes lewdly scanning her up and down.
"Ms. Smith, right?"
"Don't be scared, we mean no harm. We just want to invite you to a different place to have tea and chat with our boss."
"I don't know your boss, and I'm not interested in chatting with him. Please let me through!"
Olivia tried to make her tone sound firm.
But facing three clearly hostile men, her firmness seemed pale and powerless.
"Quite the temper."
A tall, thin guy next to her moved closer with a sleazy grin, bringing a strong smell of cigarettes.
"Our boss really admires you, just give him some face."
Olivia's stomach churned, nausea and fear mixing together.
She knew she couldn't go with them. Once taken away, the consequences would be unthinkable.
She suddenly raised the car keys in her hand, pointing them at the scarred man closest to her, and said sharply,
"If you don't move, I'm calling the police!"
"Call the police?"
The scarred man sneered, his eyes suddenly turning vicious.
"If you won't cooperate, we'll have to force you to come with us!"
He reached out to grab Olivia's arm.
At this critical moment, Olivia didn't know where the courage came from, or perhaps it was a survival instinct that kicked in. Instead of dodging, she took advantage of the moment when the scarred man reached out and used all her strength to thrust the car keys in her hand viciously toward his face!
The scarred man was caught off guard and let out a scream, covering his eye and staggering backward.
Though the keys weren't very sharp, with the force behind them, they still opened a gash below his eyebrow, and blood immediately gushed out.
"Fuck! Bitch! You dare fight back!"
The other two men, shocked and angry, immediately rushed forward.
After landing that hit, Olivia had no time to think. She turned to pull open the car door.
But her hands were shaking too badly, and she pressed the button several times without success.
In that one or two seconds of delay, the tall, thin guy had already grabbed her bag strap and yanked it backward!
"Let go!"
Olivia stumbled and nearly fell.
She desperately protected her bag, her other hand flailing wildly behind her, her nails seeming to scratch something.
In the chaos, whether it was someone's elbow or her struggling against the sharp edge of the car door,
there was a faint sound of fabric tearing, followed by a sharp, burning pain on the outside of her left forearm!
She looked down to see her light gray suit jacket sleeve torn open.
On the skin underneath, a wound about an inch long was rapidly oozing blood beads, staining the surrounding fabric red.
The pain made her gasp, but it also made her more alert.
Olivia knew she couldn't keep struggling with them!
"Help—! Someone's robbing me—!"
She began screaming with all her might.
In the empty parking garage, her voice echoed with desperation.
Maybe her screaming worked, or maybe the blood on the scarred man's face scared his accomplices—the tall, thin guy's movements paused.
Just then, the roar of a car engine suddenly came from the distance—
Two blinding high beams cut through the darkness of the parking garage like swords, shooting straight toward them!
"Someone's coming!"
The tall, thin man's face changed.
The scarred man, covering his eye with blood continuously flowing through his fingers, cursed in pain and anger,
"Fuck... retreat! Quick, retreat!"
The three men forgot about Olivia and, like startled rats, fled desperately toward the unlicensed van.
The van made an awful noise, practically drifting as it rushed out of the parking garage exit, instantly disappearing into the night.
Everything happened so fast—from being cornered to their panicked escape took only a minute or two.
The bright light approached, and a black sedan screeched to a stop right next to Olivia.
The car door opened, and a tall figure practically jumped out, rushing to her side like a gust of wind.
It was Charles!
He had been waiting for news from her at the company, and when she didn't respond after waiting and waiting, and didn't answer her phone, he felt inexplicably uneasy and drove straight over.
