Chapter 89 Belongings of The Dead

Chapter 89 Belongings of The Dead

Easton just chuckled, deciding not to push Ryder any further.

He had already given Ryder enough to think about at the office today. Now, back at the Cooper Manor, he was focused on taking all of Cassidy's belongings.

When Cassidy left home, she didn't take her things with her to avoid raising suspicion.

Cassidy was still very resistant to his presence. Maybe if she continued using her old things, it would remind her of their past and lessen her resistance.

Easton had already instructed the staff to pack up Cassidy's belongings, ready to be taken away.

But as the staff were moving Cassidy's things, Ryder and Declan noticed.

"Easton, what are you planning to do with Cassidy's stuff?" Ryder asked, suspicion evident in his voice.

Easton never did anything without a purpose. Suddenly taking Cassidy's things was suspicious, and Ryder couldn't help but question his motives.

Easton remained calm in the face of Ryder's questioning. "She's dead. What's the point of keeping her things?"

He then smiled, "Unless you want them? Go head and please your lovers with them."

Ryder frowned at the suggestion. Who would want a dead person's belongings?

Easton was right. Since Cassidy was dead, there was no need to keep her things.

With that thought, Ryder stopped questioning, and Easton left with Cassidy's belongings.

When he returned to the villa, Cassidy was already asleep.

He placed a custom-made dress on the bed and stared at Cassidy's face for a while.

Even in sleep, she seemed tense, clutching the sheets tightly, her brows furrowed, lips pressed together, her face full of unease.

Easton didn't know what she was dreaming about, but her expression made his heart feel like it was being pricked by needles, leaving him speechless.

After a while, he finally held Cassidy's hand, hoping to calm her down through the touch.

He gently stroked her brow until she gradually relaxed, no longer biting her lips. Only then did he let go of her hand.

He had just taken on the role of interim director and had many company matters to attend to, so he didn't stay in the room. Once he was sure Cassidy had relaxed, he went to the study.

Some time later, Cassidy woke up.

She saw the dress on the bed but chose to ignore it.

She wanted freedom more than any fancy dress.

Irritated, Cassidy kicked the dress to the floor and lay back down.

Easton watched Cassidy's actions through the study's surveillance.

Seeing her kick the dress to the floor without hesitation, Easton immediately stood up.

How much did Cassidy hate him to reject even a dress he gave her?

She didn't want to wear it? Then he would make her wear it!

The door suddenly opened, startling Cassidy. She sat up and saw Easton walking in with a cold expression.

Cassidy frowned as Easton approached, picking up the dress.

"Cassidy, come here." He stood by the bed, holding the dress, his tone icy as he called her name.

Cassidy didn't respond, moving further away from Easton.

Easton grew more displeased, climbing onto the bed and grabbing Cassidy's hand, dragging her to him despite her frantic resistance, and forcibly putting the dress on her.

Cassidy tried to take the dress off, but Easton grabbed her hands and pulled her to the mirror, forcing her to look at herself.

The dress was custom-made for Cassidy, fitting her perfectly.

The skirt bloomed like a flower, adorned with intricate embroidery and crystals that shimmered in the light.

Cassidy's beautiful eyes were filled with displeasure. She tried to look away, but Easton grabbed her face.

She had just recovered from an illness, her face still flushed, and her exposed skin was marked with traces of Easton's force.

Those marks, contrasted by the dress, made Cassidy look even more alluring, with a hint of vulnerability.

Easton had always known her beauty, but he was still momentarily lost in it.

He saw the marks on her skin, his gaze changing.

"Let go of me!" Cassidy broke free from Easton's grip, glaring at him angrily.

Her struggle brought Easton back to reality. He pulled her into his arms.

"Cassidy, can't you just be obedient?" His tone sounded exasperated, as if her defiance was giving him a headache.

Cassidy sneered, "Obedient like a caged bird?"

"What's wrong with that?" Easton retorted immediately. "As long as you stay by my side, I'll give you anything you want."

Easton held her chin, his eyes softening, leaning in to kiss her, but she slapped him hard before he could.

"Easton, staying by your side means losing the thing I want most!"

What she wanted most was freedom, but that was the one thing Easton would never give her.

The softness in Easton's eyes vanished, and he roughly stripped the dress off her again.

The dress was tossed aside, leaving Cassidy naked in front of the mirror once more.

Without the dress, the marks on her skin became even more apparent.

Bruises covered almost every visible part of her body, from her neck down to her legs, looking both pitiful and horrifying.

Easton initially wanted to press her against the mirror again, but seeing the hickeys on her skin made him change his mind.

The doctor had said she needed to rest. If he continued to force her, she would resist, and he might get angrier and hurt her even more.

Easton took a deep breath, pulling Cassidy into his arms. As her back pressed against him, Cassidy could feel the change in his body.

Her face turned pale instantly. "Bastard!"

Her injuries hadn't healed yet!

Easton knew she had noticed his body's reaction.

"Baby, I know you're not up for it right now, so just use your mouth." He chuckled, whispering a threat in her ear, "If you refuse, I won't care about your condition."

He thrust his hips, his erection pressing against Cassidy's butt, making her face turn even paler.

"Baby, you have no choice."

Easton was right; she had no choice.

The thought of the pain from being torn apart again made Cassidy's face even paler.

"I'll use my hand, okay?" She hesitated before slowly asking.

Easton didn't hesitate. "Sure."

Whether it was her hand or mouth, it was all the same to him.
