The next morning, Easton didn't bother going back to his own room; he spent the night in Cassidy's.
When Cassidy woke up, she found Easton already awake, watching her.
Cassidy was a bit surprised. "What are you doing here?"
Had he really not gone back to his room?
Easton smiled and kissed her forehead. "I was just too happy."
He didn't elaborate, but Cassidy understood.
He thought she was excited about the upcoming event and their future together. He was so happy about it that he wanted to stay by her side and watch her wake up.
Cassidy smiled, unsure of what expression she should have in front of Easton.
Fortunately, Easton didn't notice anything unusual.
As he leaned in to kiss her, Cassidy quickly placed a hand on his chest. "Easton, you need to get to work."
Worried he might notice something, she smiled reassuringly. "We'll be together officially soon. For now, let's keep our distance to avoid Ryder getting suspicious and causing us trouble."
Mentioning Ryder made Easton huff impatiently.
Ryder was always looking for a way to catch him slipping up. If he found out about their relationship, he would definitely make a big deal out of it, causing them a lot of trouble.
Easton didn't want any avoidable issues right now, so after hugging Cassidy, he obediently left her room.
"Cassidy, wait for me."
Once he dealt with all the problems, they could be together forever.
Cassidy nodded obediently. After Easton left, she immediately got out of bed and found her hidden birth control pills.
There was no way she was going to let herself get pregnant with Easton's child, so she took a pill after every time they had sex.
Looking at the few remaining pills, Cassidy decided today would be the last time she took one. She threw the rest of the pack into the trash, covering it with other garbage to avoid detection.
After that, Cassidy reviewed the information she had gathered from Easton the previous night.
After breakfast, she found Owen and told him about Easton's plan.
"Owen, Easton has prepared two cars. He plans to have me switch cars midway. I plan to escape during the switch."
"So I need you to prepare another car and intercept the second one. I'll get into the car you prepare during the switch."
Even just imagining the events of that day made Cassidy's heart race. She took a deep breath to steady herself.
"Owen, this is very dangerous, but you're the only one who can help me."
Owen knew how dangerous it was to take someone from Easton, but seeing the determination in Cassidy's eyes, he couldn't refuse.
He nodded firmly. "Cassidy, don't worry. I'll help you."
"I've already studied the route to the event and planned everything out. I'll make sure to get you out safely."
Cassidy was deeply moved and nodded. "If I manage to leave, I'll never forget what you've done for me."
"If you ever need help in the future, I'll do everything I can to help you!"
If she really left Easton, Owen would be her savior. No matter what danger he faced in the future, she would help him, even if it cost her life.
Owen smiled and nodded. In truth, he didn't care if Cassidy ever helped him.
He just wanted Cassidy to be happy and get everything she wanted.
If he could help her achieve that, he would be happy too.
After securing Owen's promise, Cassidy returned to her room to pack her things.
But when she opened her closet, she realized there wasn't much to pack.
The valuable items had long been stored in a safe deposit box. The remaining items were just daily necessities, which wouldn't matter if left behind.
After circling the room, she found the only thing worth taking was the wedding ring Ashton had given her.
Even though she was Ashton's third wife, he hadn't skimped on the wedding ring.
He had taken her to see many famous jewelry designers' works and even to a few auctions, just to find a ring she liked.
Cassidy silently looked at the ring she had long since taken off.
If Ashton knew about her decision now, would he support it or oppose it?
She sighed and finally put the carefully chosen ring into her bag.
Time passed, and the event drew closer. Easton grew more excited, but Cassidy felt increasingly anxious. Easton thought she was nervous about the car switch and constantly reassured her. Cassidy nodded along, but only she knew what she was really worried about.
To ensure the plan went smoothly, Easton stopped visiting Cassidy frequently.
The night before the event, Easton, thinking they were about to start a new life together, decided it would be their last night as stepmother and stepson.
This thought excited him, and he went to Cassidy's room.
He pulled her into his arms, sat her on his lap, and gently kissed her face, nibbling on her soft lips, sharing breaths and saliva.

"Easton, I'm still worried about tomorrow's plan."
Easton's hand paused on her thigh, his eyes fixed on her face.

Easton hadn't visited her the past few nights, which had eased her worries a bit.
She knew why Easton was so excited tonight, but she had no birth control pills left. She couldn't risk getting pregnant with Easton's child now.
Easton thought she was still worried about the plan. Considering that after tonight, they could be together as a couple, he didn't insist on having sex.
