Chapter 126 Chapter 126
Chapter 126 Chapter 126
Fully satisfied, the muscles in my body relaxed and I fell onto the blanket beside her. Her hand came to rest on my chest, teasing my nipples and the next thing I knew, it was morning and everywhere was bright.
I could hear voices and footsteps and I knew it was time for me to take my leave. Daisy only stirred a little when I stood up and I had to wake her up myself. Looking around, I saw our clothes littered everywhere.
She looked groggy and unaware at first then, all of a sudden, her eyes went wide as everything came back to her.
“Oh, shit. They are going to be looking for me soon," she said and hurried to her feet.
"Fuck that. Come back with me," I said as I wore my pants.
"I can't. My presence here is important or they will kill you."
"Like hell I care about that," I returned sharply. "Any attempt they make will surely fail."
She stopped moving abruptly and turned to face me. "Why are you so stubborn?" She fired at me and I was taken aback by that. "Why won't you listen to anything I'm saying? Violence solves nothing. It only causes more problems."
"Bullshit. A revolution happened that resulted in my father losing his position and eventually, his life. After I took my revenge on those responsible, in a violent way, of course, no one else had the nerve to start another one. So, yeah, violence solves things."
Fully dressed, I glanced at her briefly, making sure she saw how disappointed I was, then I made my way to the door that would take me back into the stairway.
“There's something I need to tell you about Leon," she said suddenly, stopping me in my tracks. Slowly, I turned to face her.
"What's that?"
“You have to promise me that you won't be violent against the pack first,” she replied.
Anger rose in me on hearing that. "How can you expect me to trust you after this? It's obvious that you've chosen this pack over me and you really think I would take your words against my beta's?”
When she was unable to give any reply to that, I scoffed and took my leave. I made it to my car downstairs without anyone spotting me and a few minutes later, I was on my way back home.
Hours passed and I arrived home. Nothing prepared me for what I met. One of my guards came to meet me immediately, filling me in on what had happened in my absence. Immediately after hearing what he had to say, I stormed off to Leon's room, kicking the door down and making my way in.
Leon jerked up from bed as soon as the door hit the floor.
"What the hell?" He asked, his gaze travelling to the door on the floor.
"How the fuck is Max and another member of the pack dead? Where were you when all that happened?" I asked him, barely seeing through my anger as I approached him.
"And how's that my fucking business, uh? What do you want me to do about it?" He fired back at me. "I'm no longer your second in command, remember? I owe you nothing.”
That was the first time Leon had ever stood up to me like that and I knew there had to be a reason for that strange development. "How dare you?! Wikh would never do this. Never."
"Of course, he wouldn't," Leon snickered. “But you killed him yourself, didn't you? Your so-called best friend. Anything you touch, you ruin. Fuck you, man."
"Oh, you bastard..." I started to say as I charged towards him.
He jumped up from the bed when he saw that but he wasn't fast enough. A loud crack filled the room as my fist hit him and before he could recover from it, I sent two more punches towards his face. Staggering backwards, he fell onto the bed but I grabbed him by the collar and pulled him back up. He threw a fist at me with his available hand but I dodged it easily and aimed my forehead for his face. He grunted in pain and I dealt him a severe blow to his stomach which sent him crumbling to the floor. Suddenly, I felt something sharp pierce me from behind and I looked back to see Neena standing there with a daring look in her eyes. Rather than running after getting her free pass, she came at me and I grabbed her easily. She struggled against me but I didn't let go. Grabbing her neck, I shook her violently until she was almost limp then I flung her across the room like a paperweight.
By the time I turned back to Leon, he had already transformed and his claws barely missed my face as he threw himself at me. My wolf growled inside me and I allowed it access to the surface, transforming too. On his next charge, I grabbed him and lifted him into the air, slamming him to the ground. I aimed a kick at his chest but he rolled away. I sent another one at him before he could stand up and it caught him in the side. Then I bent over him and started hitting him in the face continuously. By the time I was done, my hands were bloody and he was no longer moving.
Returning to my full height, I looked across the room to see Neena still on the floor where she had landed. I left the room breathing heavily and called for one of my guards.
"Take him to a cell. Her too," I instructed and they rushed into the room.
I could still feel the pain from whatever Neena had used to stab me but it wasn't strong enough to give me a cause for worry. As I headed towards my office, my mind flashed back to when I was still with Daisy and she'd been trying to tell me something about Leon. If only I'd listened to what she had to say.
After entering my office, I grabbed my phone and scrolled through until I got to Asper's contact. The last time we'd spoken, he'd been upset about Charles' death. Hopefully, he won't still feel that way.
Dialing his number, I put the phone to my ear, waiting patiently as it rang. It was answered after a few rings. "Hey, I need your help," I said, relaxing against my desk.
There was a brief silence on the line before Asper said, "Okay. How can I help?"
