Chapter 176
The call
Alex’s POV
The first thing I felt when I woke up was pain.
A deep, dull ache spread through my body, making every slight movement a reminder of the night before. My muscles screamed in protest, and my lower back screamed. I was so sore that I felt like I had been plowed with a sewing saw, and not just because I had just had sex with andrian. The insatiable.
The events of last night slowly began to creep into my head. After the jealous saga that had happened because of the flirty host, the Andrian had taken me to the beach. After fooling around, we had lay down, counting the stars. It was so perfect, but throughout that period, what was in my mind was how much of all this,
Coming to the beach. The small picnic, the romantic moment.
was it the sluty host idea?.
But I had opened up to andrian, and he had too. After the emotionally boring talks, we had entered into the main thing, and from there, everything was a blur in my head.
The feeling of being filled to the brim. My entrance stretching to accommodate his big cock. My screaming. I suddenly felt my throat with my hands, it was suddenly scratchy. An indication that I had screamed like a horny bitch last night as andrian, worked through my back like fire.
Even going for the second round then in the middle of the third, when I couldn’t take it any longer, I passed out from exhaustion.
but it all, even through the whole soreness, and having a hangover., I felt happy.
No, more than happy.
My heart was swelling with something I couldn’t name.
I stretched slightly, immediately knowing it was a bad idea, and the pain came all at once. I winced, sucking a deep sharp breath. but smiling sheepishly.
There is something oddly satisfying about the pain. Even though my back was on fire, I wanted it.
Especially seeing how andrian who was still asleep, held me against him like i was his life. His arms were draped over my waist, my back pressing to his smooth muscular chest.
His face buried against my neck, his breathing slow and steady. He looked peaceful, vulnerable even. so different from the cold, untouchable boy the world knew him to be.
My heart skipped a beat knowing that it was only with me that he showed this side of him.
Last night had changed something between us.
I knew he wanted to say it, those three words that would seal everything. I had seen it in his eyes, felt it in the way he touched me. But Andrian was complicated, and so was his life. Having a father like his, would have made even the toughest kid to break down, but he still persisted.
And despite him persisting, it had changed his view of care and perspective on love. But I had already decided. I would wait.
Even if he couldn’t say it now, I knew. That he more than loves me that he would even put his life at risk to save me. And for me, that was enough.
I closed my eyes again, basking in the warmth of his body, trying to slip back into the bliss of sleep when…
Ring.
I groaned.
Andrian’s phone was buzzing loudly on the nightstand. I tried to ignore it, but the ringing kept going, insistent and sharp.
I carefully slid his arm off me, moving slowly so he wouldn’t wake. The moment I was free, I sat up, but not without a heavy bout of dizziness hitting me.
I didn't realise how tired I was until now. After it wore off, I managed to get myself off the bed, limping towards the phone.
Viper is calling.
My stomach twisted.
Andrian had said that he was hardly in contact with the outside world. But if that was true, then why was Viper calling him?.
And this phone, I had not known he had a phone with him. My heart shook.
Andrian had lied to me.
Something in me whispered not to answer. It wasn’t my business. And besides, andrian had warned me about this. We were in a run from a lot of enemies that were trying to hurt me. That was why we had come here, where nobody knows as its a private property.
That was why I hesitated. The first thought was to keep the phone down, But another part, the part that had always been drawn to the mysteries surrounding Andrian, couldn’t help but wonder.
Before I could stop myself, I pressed accept.
What I heard on the other end made my blood run cold.
I didn’t react immediately. I just stood there, the phone pressed against my ear, barely remembering how to breathe, as I listened to what was being said from the other end.
My fingers trembled.
Then, the phone slipped from my hands.
It hit the floor with a sharp thud, but I barely noticed. Staring into space like a zombie. trying to make sense of what I had just heard.
I turned back to Andrian, still deep in sleep, his brow furrowed slightly as if sensing something was wrong.
Should I wake him? Should I tell him?
But the call had made one thing clear, do not involve anyone else.
Or else.
A shiver ran through me.
I fought with myself, my hands clenched into fists. Andrian had always protected me. He had saved me, stood by me, fought for me. Shouldn’t I trust him enough to handle this together?
But… What if this was something he didn’t want me to know?
It was obvious with the phone, maybe he had forgotten to put it well last night after coming back.
What if he had been trying to hide this from me all this while. Thereby putting my life in danger.
Who knows what else he had told me that was a lie just to keep me on this island.
My decision was made before I could think it through.
I had to go. Alone.
I wiped at my face, barely realizing I was crying. Damn it.
Moving quickly, I rummaged through Andrian’s bag, my hands shaking as I grabbed a few cash notes, barely enough for anything, but it would have to do. I threw on my clothes, all the time biting my lips hard to stop me from shouting from the pain.
I took one last look at Andrian sleeping form.
My heart bled leaving him like this, but I had to do it.
If not…. I cringed at the consequences.
The salty sea breeze hit me as I stepped out, my heart pounding in my chest. I had never left the island alone before. It was already early morning.
I moved fast, pushing forward despite my legs screaming in pain. Each step I took was a painful reminder of what had happened. and just as I reached the dock, Claire appeared out of nowhere like a ghost.
"Well, well, well," she drawled, arms crossed, a knowing smirk on her face. "I see someone had a good night."
Heat flooded my face.
I stiffened, trying to walk normally, but the soreness betrayed me. Claire’s grin widened.
"Why are you limping, sweetheart?" she teased. "Need me to carry you?"
I forced a laugh, shaking my head. " It’s nothing."
"Nothing? After the noise you two made last night, I had to stay awake all night. I’d say it was definitely something."
I swallowed, forcing myself to stay calm despite the impulse to bash to stick out my tongue at her like a little child.
Just get past her. Just leave.
"I have to go," I said quickly. "Something came up."
Claire raised an eyebrow, amusement fading slightly. "Does Andrian know?"
I hesitated. "Yeah. He does."
A lie.
If she saw through it, she didn’t say anything. She just gave me one last knowing look before stepping aside. "Whatever you say, lovebird. Just don’t do anything stupid."
Too late for that.
I hurried past her before she could question me further. The moment I stepped onto the boat, the realisation of what I was doing washed over me.
I was leaving Andrian behind. Again.
I was stepping into something I might not be ready for.
I just wanted to run back and be by his side. Enjoying the warmth that only he can provide.
but the phone call today…
I had no choice.
“I will make it up to him.” murmured, before the boat engine came to life, the loud sound of the engine swallowing the sorrow in my heart from having to leave nadrian.
“I hope he can forgive me”
