Jealousy

Alex’s POV

After freshening up, Andrian told me to get dressed. From his tone, he was sounding very optimistic about this outing.. Saying we had someone to meet. He looked way too excited about this mysterious person, and his mystery was a fine place he would love to show me. Which only made me more curious.

When we stepped out of the room, I was instantly hit by the fresh ocean breeze. Even though I had come out of the house before, I was too engrossed in my emotional drama to not notice the nice otherworldly scene. The house, no, the villa, was nestled perfectly on a cliff overlooking the sea. It was breathtaking, small and cozy, for couples. I blushed profusely when the couple came to my mind.

Andrian noticed, “why are you flustered?” he pinched my cheeks, which annoyed me the most, and made me blush the more.

“Nothing” I answered, looking away as I aired the surroundings. my attention snapped back to reality when I heard a soft, feminine voice call out from the open patio

“Andrian.”

I turned in time to see a woman gracefully making her way toward us. She was young, maybe a little older than us, and I can't deny the fact that she was a beauty even if I wanted to.

Tall, with striking features and piercing brown eyes that sparkled with innocent mischief. She moved like she owned the world, confident and self-assured.

I immediately disliked her.

"Andrian, my dear," she purred, closing the distance between them. "I was wondering when you'd finally wake up. I am sorry if I had stressed you in the morning. I raised an eyebrow.

To my growing annoyance, Andrian chuckled, the sound deep and familiar, too familiar.

"You know it was not intended, I can't do it to my wonderful host, Claire," he replied smoothly.

Claire.

Of course, she had a name that sounded both demure and threatening at the same time.

She reached out and playfully flicked Andrian’s chest, an action that made my fingers twitch in anger. Then, to make matters worse, she casually looped her arm around his, resting her body way too close to his side.

Something ugly coiled in my stomach. I suddenly had the urge to rip her away from andrian.

I didn’t like this.

Not one bit.

I stood there awkwardly, shifting from foot to foot as Andrian indulged her in her obvious flirting. The bitch latched her demonic fingers on him, like she belonged there.

Who the hell was she?

And why wasn’t Andrian pulling away?

My irritation bubbled dangerously when she turned to me, her gaze sweeping over me with curiosity. "And who’s this?" she asked, tilting her head slightly.

I clenched my fists at my sides, waiting, no, daring, Andrian to say something. I tried desperately not to snap at her

And that was when it happened.

I saw the slight hesitation in his eyes.

The way his lips parted like he was about to say one thing… then stopped.

For a brief second, I saw it, like he was debating something.

And then, in the next breath, he spoke.

"This is Alex," he said. "My…" He paused for just a fraction too long, and I felt my heart stop.

Even though we are still not official. Though I don't even know what we are now. If anything we are now can be considered anything.

"My boyfriend," he finally finished, his voice steady as he gently manoeuvred out of claire's embrace to pull me close, his arm wrapping securely around my waist in a bold display.

My breath caught in my throat.

Boyfriend.

The word sent a rush of warmth through me, a strange mixture of emotions I wasn’t prepared for.

Embarrassment was the one word for it. I blushed at his bold claim, and the way I was being stared like an auction item.

I liked the way it sounded.

Claire raised an eyebrow, and for a split second, I thought I saw something flicker in her expression, surprise? Or was it disappointment. I couldn’t tell. But then she smirked, covering everything up like it never happened, but it didn’t escape my eagle eyes.

"Boyfriend, huh?" she mused. "Interesting."

I bristled at her tone but bit my tongue.

"Alright, lover boys," Claire finally said, stepping back with a knowing smile. "I won’t keep you. Andrian, why don’t you take your boyfriend to see the beach? It’s quite the sight."

Andrian nodded, ready to lead me away, but just as we turned, Claire grabbed his arm again, pulling him slightly toward her.

I frowned.

She leaned in close, her lips almost touching his ear, and whispered something too low for me to hear.

Andrian stiffened for the briefest moment before nodding slightly. Smiling at the end of their little moment.

I felt an unease twist in my gut. My dislike for her increased by the moment.

What the hell did she just say?

As Andrian walked us toward the beach, I tried to shake off the feeling. But no matter how much I tried, my mind kept circling back to that moment.

That whisper.

Andrian’s reaction.

The walk to the beach was quiet, but not uncomfortable. It was the kind of silence that let me hear the sound of the distant waves, the peculiar fresh air of riverrine area rustling through the trees, and more especially Andrian’s steady breathing beside me

His hands occasionally brushed against mine, and each time it happened , I felt my skin tingle.

But as much as I wanted to enjoy this feeling with andrian, and admire the beautiful natural landscape in front of me. I still can't get the image of the stunning lady literally gluing herself to andrian body.

Even if it was on a friendly basis, the lady, what's her name again…, was literally the most beautiful girl I have ever seen, and to see her acting all clingy with Andrian.

I didn’t mean to be jealous or feel inferior. I am not the type to be easily intimidated , but I couldn’t help the uneasy feeling that kept on growing inside my heart.

It wasn’t on purpose. At least, I didn’t think it was.

But the last whisper in his ears,it had gotten to me. I hadn’t heard what she had said, and my skin itches to just smear her perfect makeup with mud.

I was still distracted by Claire and Adrian's relationship and how he was acting like nothing happened.

"So," Andrian suddenly spoke, breaking the silence. "What was that back there?"

I blinked, glancing at him. "What was what?"

He smirked. "You know exactly what I’m talking about."

I rolled my eyes, making sure to keep a poker face . "I have no idea what you mean."

Andrian let out a low chuckle. "You were rude to her. Alex."

I scoffed. "Was I?”

"You totally were. And for a moment, you were jealous.

“And why would I be jealous? Don't flatter yourself." I said, quickening my pace, to escape from his questions.

Andrian easily caught up with me, sliding his hands on my shoulders. Despite my protest, he still held me in place. "You should’ve seen your face. Alexi, it was adorable…"

"Okay, yes I was” I pretended to say, catching him off guard. With quick reflex, I escaped from his hold while laughing at his reaction as I broke into a run.

“You are soon dead…” Andrian eyes lit eith amusement before chasing me to the beach.

By the time we reached the beach, I stood speechless as I laid eyes on the scenery in front of me.
