Chapter 26
Aurora's POV
Let me elaborate when I say I don't have any real reason to stay here.
For the past three days, I've been lying to Wes, all of ever done is cause trouble, we've been distant for a while now and I suppose it just isn't... it just isn't meant to be.
"Wes. ." I call out as he used his phone and he hums. "I have something to tell you."
I don't want to leave him... .knowing his past, but I can't sit here and pretend that I'm worthy of him when I'm not. He's not perfect, but he deserves much more than what I have to offer.
Lies and deceit.
He turns to me at the tone of my voice and raises an eyebrow.
"What is it?"
I sigh heavily before averting my eyes.
Gosh, I haven't even started talking yet but the tears were making an appearance.
"I- 'm breaking up with you." I go straight to the point and he looks taken aback. Before he has a chance to say anything I continue. "I've been lying to you... the reason you found me crying outside was that ... my mom called."
His eyes widen and he touches my hand but I subtly pull away, wrapping them around me.
He frowns slightly but lets me carry on.
"Um... she's dying." My voice cracks slightly and I turn my head to the roof so the tears could go back in. "She asked me to come to England before she dies and I'm going to go. . . tomorrow."
His jaw clenches as his face turns hard.
"So that's it? You've just been lying to me?"
"Wes believe me when I said I love you. Because I do. I really do."
"This?." He states standing and looking at me furiously. "You're supposed to trust me enough to tell me anything. Especially that your mom is dying, I would come with you."
"That's exactly what I mean! I don't... I don't what you to feel as if you are burdened with me. That you have to drop everything just to comfort me."
"You're not making any sense. You know I would do anything for you willingly. I don't know about you, but when I said I love you, I meant it."
"Wes-"
"What about Thomas? Did you ever think about how you leaving may affect him?"
"I did. And... he would be better off without me, I'm a bad example."
Wes looks at me in disbelief.
"Aurora. I can't believe you. Are you really going to throw away all the times we spent together?"
"I lied to you, Wes!" I exclaim.
"Okay! That's fine. I know you feel guilty or else we wouldn't be having this conversion!"
"I don't want to do this anymore. I don't want to do us."
He looks utterly hurt and he drops his hand, his face turning blank.
"I never thought you would be the one to hurt me again. After I told you what happened to me. But here we are right. I'm not going to beg you to stay with me. I did that twice. I'm done begging people who want to leave. So you wanna go? Go! Its always been me and Thomas, I guess that's just how it's supposed to be."
He stares at me once more as tears slip down my face. His eyes soften a bit and he raises his hand to touch my cheek, but instead, he stops, shaking his head and walking away.
I turn with tears running down my face to look at him.

I didn't have the courage to say goodbye, especially to Thomas so I left early.
I'm now in England and I stand at their doorstep, knocking warily.
The country seemed so... familiar, yet, unfamiliar.
The door swings open and a teenage boy stands before me. He looks tired and his eyes are dead as he stares at me in confusion.
"Aurora?" He calls out and I furrow my brows at how alike we looked.
"Yes. ." He smiles warmly, gripping my arms and pulling me into him. I yelp in surprise and he breathes in.
"I've heard so much about you... I'm Ronin... your brother." I stay silent, still in a state of shock when he laughs nervously and lets me in.
"Nobody's home right now, everyone's at the. .hospital." His face dims and I eye him carefully.
"Why aren't you there?" I speak up and he smiles weakly.
"They told me to get some rest but I can't really sleep knowing that she may. .pass... at any moment." I nod.
"So. . how old are you?" He speaks up, plopping onto the leather couch and I thoughtfully sit next to him.
"Twenty-one. You?"
"Sixteen."
"May I ask what you've heard about me?" I ask curiously and he furrows his brows as if he's trying to remember.
"She just described your features a lot, it never really seemed like she knew anything personality-wise."
I scoff lowly and he looks at me as if he knows something.
"She told me what happened. . . all of it. I'm sorry. ."
"Its not your fault kid."
"I know. ." it goes silent and I clap my hands.
"Well, what're we waiting for? Let's go see our mother." I mutter the last part bitterly and I don't miss the look he gave me.
This was going to be interesting.
