Someone's POV


'Ali?' Vince called Aaliyah who he caught in the parking lot of the mall they always go to.

'Vince!' Aaliyah said she was happy to see Vince and immediately came to him.

'When did you come?? A while ago??' Aaliyah asked him excitedly. She is happy because Vince is back.

'Just now, I thought of picking you up, they said you were at the mall,' Vince answered him.

'How are you? Is your problem okay?' Aaliyah asked.

'Uhm' was Vince's only answer while smiling at her.






Aaliyah's Pov

'Have you eaten? Why didn't you rest when you just arrived' I asked him worriedly while we were currently on the way and Vince was driving. He just took a taxi when he left to pick me up. The mall is not far from his house.

'Nah, I was able to rest. I would like to eat with you' he answered while focusing on the road.

I turned to him and smiled.

'Sure! It's just that I haven't eaten yet' I said smiling at him.

He turned to me and smiled and then focused on the road again.

After a while I felt that he had parked his car.

He got out quickly and of course I knew that he was going to open my door so I did wait for him  so that his effort would not be wasted.

'Careful' he said as I went down.

'Thanks' I said to him smiling.

I noticed that the theme of the restaurant we went to seemed to have nature feels. As we entered we were greeted by the staff.

The ambiance of the restaurant was nice and I liked it because it felt like relaxing to eat. It's like you're in a forest.

Vince pulled the chair for me, as he usually does when we eat. 'thanks.' I told him.

'It's beautiful here.' I told him. He just smiled at me.

'Order it' he said and handed me the menu as he sat in front of me. I immediately took it and looked at the food that looked delicious and suitable for the ambiance of the restaurant.

When I liked something, I immediately told the waiter who was waiting for our order. It turned out that he was waiting for me because Vince had already finished ordering. It looks like he's a regular customer here because he didn't look at the menu.

'Ali?' He called me to get my attention. I was observing the whole surroundings. Because I am amazed with their theme. It's relaxing. Add their background music that's like chirping birds.

'Yes?' I asked him. When I turned around, he was very serious.

'What is that? I'm nervous about you' I told him.

'That question you asked me before I left three days ago?' When he starts.

I suddenly remembered our scene the day before he left. The truth is that I also wanted to tell him something at that time..

'Ah, yes.. when I asked you if you still love me.. is that it?' I asked him.

'Yes' he answered.

I was a little confused by his answer. I was wondering if that was his answer to my question three days ago, or his answer to my question today. I just thought, he answered my question now.

'Yes, that's it' I said smiling to him.

'Yes. I still like you' he directly answered me. I was looking seriously into his eyes when suddenly the waiter came with a serving tray with a lid.

The waiter placed it in front of me.

I was looking at the waiter, then my gaze shifted to the serving tray and then to Vince.

But he was just staring at me very seriously.

'Ali, I know.. You've gone through a lot. No words can express how hurt and miserable you are for these past years. You've been heartbroken, you've been betrayed. You feel lost. I don't know how it feels, but only one thing I know... You are broken into pieces. You still love him but you are trying to forget him...' He paused for a second.

As I listened to him, my eyes watered little by little and I knew I couldn't stop it.

It's been a few months since the last time I cried because I forced myself to forget him because I've been so toxic to the point that I can't be a good mother to my child. I neglected Lian, even myself.

Everything he said now, it's like he's reading my mind. I also feel it, and inside me he almost said in an instant that it's hard for me to voice out even to my best friend.

That's why I couldn't stop it.

I started to cry.

'Ali, you have to be strong. You already have Lian. You need to continue. I know you are half there. But not completely healed.' Its continuation.

'For you to be able to continue, you need someone who will help you get up, a partner who can help you raise Lian. Someone who protects both of you, someone who can sacrifice himself for his family. someone who can endure the pain just to make sure that his family is safe,'

'Can I build your broken pieces Ali? Can I help you bring your life back? If yes, just open that. If not it's okay, nothing will change, we're still the same okay? Now choose' he said smiling.

I'm not stupid enough to not understand what he means.

This is a proposal.

And now, I don't know what to answer. I do not know what to do. I suddenly panicked. I was suddenly confused.

This past few days I thought, I want to give Vince a chance because he is not hard to love. He did that before, I liked him then, my love for Daniel just got heavier.

I want to tell him that we can try. About us. After all, I picture him being a father to Lian. In fact, he became more of a father to Lian. And if it wasn't for him, I wouldn't have been in this world for a long time.

Besides, I want to give him the opportunity to have a relationship with me, but I didn't expect to talk about marriage right away.

I wiped the tears from my eyes.

'Shhh...Don't cry ali.. you don't have to answer that if you don't want to. There is no pressure.. Don't pressure yourself.' He said with a smile to ease our situation now.

He called the waiter and was leaving the serving tray in front of me.

The waiter immediately followed him and was about to bring away the serving tray when I suddenly stopped him.

He was obviously surprised by what I did next.

I opened the tray and smiled at him. The genuine one.

He deserves it. I want to take a risk and try the new chapter of my life with him.

He is the person I need so that I can completely forget Daniel and remove him from my heart so that I can be whole again. I don't want to use him, or something.. I just wanted to give him a chance, give us a chance. At the same time i want Lian to have a father.

I will give my best to learn to love him because I know he will be a good father for Lian and a loyal husband to me.

I saw a diamond ring that was almost identical to the ring that Daniel gave me when he proposed.

'Thank you' he said smiling at me. He held my hand and put the ring on my ring finger.

I smiled as I looked at the ring on my hand.

It's beautiful...

'But Ali, I would like to ask you something if it's okay..' he asked.

'What is that?'

'I would like us to get married in the Philippines' he said with a serious look on his face.

'But if you don't want it, it's okay, let's just stay here' he said again.

'Sure. Why not? They don't own the whole Philippines so we can't go back there, and another thing I missed  Liam so much. I want to visit him' I bravely answered him.

'Are you sure?' He double-checked.

'Sure. I'm fine now.' I smile at him even though the truth is, my heart suddenly beat when I suddenly remembered the Philippines.



My heart ached.





Three months later

We just returned to the Philippines today. Because we have a lot to do, and prepare for our wedding next month.

Yes. Next month already. We already have a schedule for Vince to introduce me to his parents. And when I think about that, I get a little nervous.

I thought of visiting Liam right now even though I'm still tired from the flight.

The next day we will go to our province with Vince for my mom and grandma. Vince are going to ask them my hand. Another thing is because they are eager to see their second grandchild. They only see Lian through video calls because since we've been in the states for maybe a year and a half, so when they found out that we were going home, they were very happy, especially grandma.

We stayed here at Nik and Lyca's mansion. The house that Nik's parents gave them when they got married. We are the only ones here today because Vince went straight to their mansion to see his parents because they also misses him especially his mom.

I just put baby Lian to sleep and then I went downstairs to go see Liam.

I went down the stairs.

But suddenly I stopped stepping at the moment.

There is someone unexpectedly sitting on the couch right now while looking at me with Nik and Lyca.
