Chapter 277: Entry Prohibited
Chapter 277: Entry Prohibited
Arian put down her teacup and looked at her with interest.
"What, already want to go back?"
Emily quickly shook her head. A flash of complex emotions crossed her eyes - nostalgia, grievance, and a hint of inexplicable melancholy.
"No, just feeling a bit sentimental all of a sudden."
"Since the weather outside is so nice, it's boring to stay cooped up inside all the time."
Arian stood up, walked over to Emily's side, and pointed at the garden outside the window with a smile.
"Why not take a walk in the garden?
The irises your father specially transplanted from the old estate - they were the best ones from his garden, and they're in full bloom right now.
And you know what? There's something even more beautiful than the irises in the garden right now. Aren't you interested?"
Emily was caught off guard by this question. A faint blush rose to her cheeks, and she lowered her head somewhat embarrassedly, shaking it gently.
"Actually... actually I'm already married."
She thought this would make Arian drop the idea, but to her surprise, the other woman just chuckled softly.
Arian smiled and reached out, supporting Emily's shoulders and carefully pulling her up from the sofa. Her tone carried a hint of affection.
"You silly girl. What's there to hide about this? You don't know, do you? Your father already told me everything.
He's been planning to change your citizenship to Lumaria."
She reached out to tuck a strand of hair behind Emily's forehead, her eyes full of sincerity.
"That way, your previous marriage in Emerald City would naturally be invalid.
Besides, your father already told me about everything that happened.
James deliberately hid your marriage relationship before. You must have been heartbroken over this, which is why you came to Lumaria.
Since that's the case, why not just cancel that relationship completely and start fresh?"
She took Emily's hand, her tone growing even gentler.
"Once you become the crown prince of Lumaria, your status will be completely different.
Naturally, you should choose the best young men to match you.
Those young men in the garden outside were all carefully selected by your father and me. They range from eighteen to thirty years old, and every one of them is outstanding.
Whether it's appearance, character, or family background, they're all top-notch.
And most of them have impressive professional achievements -
there are up-and-coming lawyers in the legal field, doctors who save lives, and athletes who've won awards at international competitions."
Arian gently patted the back of Emily's hand and advised earnestly,
"Emily, don't close off your heart because of one failed relationship.
Get out there and meet other people. You'll find that excellent young men are everywhere.
James may seem perfect, but the fact that he deceived you is enough to make his image completely negative in your heart.
Or are you saying you still can't let him go?"
Emily pressed her lips together. Her long lashes lowered, hiding the emotions in her eyes. She sighed softly, her voice carrying a hint of confusion.
"I don't know. I... I think I really liked him, but right now, I really don't want to see him.
Besides, since I left Emerald City, he hasn't contacted me at all.
Maybe I'm not that important to him either."
"Silly child, how can you put yourself down like this?"
Arian reached out and ruffled her hair, her eyes full of appreciation.
"You're the most angel-like beautiful girl I've ever seen, kind and perceptive. You're more than good enough for anyone.
Besides, your status now is quite special. If your father heard you putting yourself down like this, how sad would he be?
Come on, come downstairs with me. Just do it as a favor to me, give yourself a chance, okay?"
Emily still hesitated.
Arian pulled Emily's hand, her tone carrying a hint of insistence.
"Come on, come downstairs with me. Just think of it as giving yourself a chance.
Besides, if you're really going to become Lumaria's crown prince in the future, you'll need to know these young men from prominent families anyway. Making more friends won't hurt."
Seeing Arian's sincere expression and the genuine concern in her eyes, Emily's resistance gradually faded, and she could only nod gently.
At Arian's urging, she went upstairs and changed into a proper white dress with delicate lace trim on the hem, making her look even more pure and lovely.
After changing, she was pulled by Arian without further discussion and headed down to the garden.
Lumaria International Airport
Tyler, accompanied by several personal bodyguards, had just stepped out of the aircraft cabin. Before he could take a few breaths of Lumaria's air, he was blocked by a large squad of royal guards dressed in black uniforms.
The guards all stood tall and stern-faced, holding batons in their hands, their eyes sharp as eagles,
surrounding his group completely with no intention of letting them pass.
The captain of the guard stepped forward, his gaze falling coldly on Tyler, his tone devoid of emotion.
"Tyler, Prince Kumb has given us orders that no one from the Smith family is allowed to enter Lumaria."
Tyler couldn't help but snort at these words. He pushed up his silver-framed glasses, a hint of mockery flashing in his eyes.
"That's ridiculous. The Smith Group still has several branches in Lumaria!
Aren't you afraid this will affect business cooperation between our countries?"
The guard captain seemed to find this amusing and let out a cold laugh. His outstretched arm blocked Tyler's path with no sign of backing down. He said flatly,
"Sorry, Tyler. The Smith Group in Lumaria has been completely shut down for reorganization, and all business operations are suspended.
As for the agreements previously signed with the Lumaria government, we will pay the required compensation. The Lumaria royal family won't default on that.
So please turn back, Tyler."
"What if I say no?"
Tyler took half a step forward, crossing his arms over his chest, emanating a powerful sense of pressure. He stared into the guard captain's eyes and said word by word.
The guard captain showed no fear and responded expressionlessly,
"Then if Tyler doesn't comply with the arrangement, we can only follow the royal family's orders and send you back.
After all, we represent the Lumaria royal family. I'm sure Tyler doesn't want to make an ugly scene at the airport, right?"
He pointed at the reporters with cameras around them, his tone carrying a hint of threat.
"Look, there are media friends all around. If Tyler gets physical with us here and things get out of hand,
neither Lumaria nor the Frank Empire will look good.
So please don't act rashly."
