Chapter 13 He Likes You

Henry frowned, "Alcohol allergy can be life-threatening."

Sophia’s previous alcohol allergy made her whole body flush and heat up, causing red rashes, and in severe cases, she would develop a fever.

Her arm was already itching badly, but fortunately, the amount of alcohol wasn't much.

"I need to take care of this, sorry everyone."

The class president quickly followed her, "Sophia, wait for me. I’ll go with you to the hospital. Everyone, have fun."

As soon as they left, Ariel pulled Henry back to sit down.

Ella couldn’t help but complain, "Why come to a party if you can’t drink? So lame!"

"Yeah, such a downer, and she took our class president with her!"

"Not to gossip, but the class president's eyes never left Sophia."

The man speaking was a former class troublemaker.

"In my opinion, Sophia is a catch. That waist and those hips, wow... The class president moved fast!"

Someone egged him on to chase after her, joking that he might be too late.

The man chuckled, still making lewd comments about Sophia.

Though Sophia wasn’t there, she became a subject of the man's vulgar talk.

Preston followed the address Sophia left and easily found the room for the reunion.

The door wasn’t fully closed, so the room's voices were clearly audible.

Preston, with one hand in his pocket, paused by the door, hearing Sophia’s name.

His eyes turned cold as he took out his phone to photograph the man, sending the picture to his secretary.

At the end of the hallway, the class president was talking to Sophia, "Sophia, actually, I... I..."

"Class president."

Sophia’s eyes were red, her body covered in red rashes. She endured the discomfort and nausea, looking at the class president.

Her dark eyes were resolute, "I’m married. Please don’t invite me to high school reunions anymore."

Sophia stood up, but the class president refused to let it go, chasing after her.

"Sophia, I don’t care if you’re married! Really! Why not invite you? I really miss you!"

The class president wanted to grab her, but Sophia dodged, making him stumble.

"Class president, you deliberately gave me the wrong time and spiked my drink, didn’t you?"

Sophia’s eyes were red, but she wasn’t stupid.

The class president froze for a moment, then smiled, "Sophia, you’re overthinking it, how could that be?"

He tried to approach her again, but Sophia extended her hand to stop him, stepping back, "Just say I overthought it."

She turned to leave, but the class president pursued.

Just then, someone punched the class president, sending him flying.

Sophia turned to see Henry standing behind her, the class president on the ground.

"Henry, why are you here?"

Henry, in a suit, his tie askew, had punched the class president.

"He spiked your drink."

"Henry! You’re married and still thinking about Sophia? Do you want to rekindle old flames?"

Sophia listened to the class president’s increasingly outrageous accusations, hastily trying to explain.

The class president got up, ready to fight Henry again.

The noise quickly drew everyone's attention, and the crowd gathered to watch.

Sophia tried to stop Henry, "Enough, Henry."

"I need to teach this guy a lesson!"

"Henry!"

Ariel’s eyes burned with hatred for Sophia as she walked over in her high heels.

"What are you doing?"

She gritted her teeth, "Everyone is watching. Behave yourself."

Henry glanced at her, "He harassed Sophia first."

Ariel turned, scrutinizing Sophia, wishing she could tear her apart.

"Henry is just kind-hearted."

Ariel pulled Henry away, "But maybe he overstepped. Sophia, you can tell that the class president likes you, right?"

Ariel's words shifted the focus, and everyone’s attention turned to Sophia and the class president.

The class president wiped the blood from his nose, his clothes disheveled and looking pathetic.

His shirt buttons were ripped off, exposing his greasy belly. He grinned and went along.

"Yeah, I like Sophia."

Sophia’s head was already foggy, making her feel trapped by the sudden confession.

The crowd egged them on to get together.

Sophia struggled to see clearly.

Ariel clung to Henry.

Henry's expression was icy.

The class president looked triumphant.

"I... I..."

"Sorry, she’s married."

Preston politely pushed through the crowd. His tall, imposing figure stood out.

"Preston."

Preston walked over, taking Sophia’s hand.

"Wife, why couldn’t I reach you? Didn’t you ask me to pick you up?"

Sophia hadn’t expected Preston to show up like a timely rain. She looked at him, her eyes filled with surprise.

Preston’s warm hand held hers as he nodded to everyone, "I’ll take her home now."

The class president's face was full of shock.

Preston brushed past him, knocking him back.

The class president stumbled, nearly falling.

He was about to curse but backed down under Preston’s warning look, his confidence deflating.

Ariel watched Preston, her jealousy growing.

Preston was taller than Henry, and his features were more striking.

Most importantly, the aura Preston exuded was overwhelming.

Everything about him screamed that he was not an ordinary man.

Ariel seethed with envy.

As Preston and Sophia’s figures disappeared, Ariel coldly spoke, "What? Regretting it? Hearing that Sophia is married, are you heartbroken?"

Seeing Henry’s dazed expression, she couldn’t help but mock, "Lost your soul?"

"Stop talking nonsense!"

Henry left Ariel and walked away.

Ariel's eyes turned red as she held back her tears.

She couldn’t accept that Sophia had found someone better than Henry.

Henry was the school heartthrob, the untouchable high-achiever.

If she hadn’t used some tricks, Henry might have been Sophia’s.

Someone like Sophia didn’t deserve him.

Ariel clenched her fists, her nails digging into her palms, not feeling the pain.

She bit her lip hard, closing her eyes to steady her emotions.

The crowd dispersed, but someone shouted, "Look! Sophia’s husband drives a Maybach!"

"Really! Did Sophia marry into a wealthy family?"

Ariel looked out the window to see Preston opening the car door, gently helping Sophia in.

"Watch your head."

"Thank you."

As soon as Sophia sat down, she grabbed Preston’s hand.

"Thank you for coming to get me."
