Chapter 295 Damning Truth

Chapter 295 Damning Truth

"I will."

Penelope instinctively wanted to shake her head.

Before she could speak, William warned, "Think about your daughter before you answer. Whether you see her again depends entirely on this moment."

William's words instantly reminded Penelope that not only did she want to see Megan, but she also needed to escape from this dangerous place.

She craved freedom. She couldn't bear staying here any longer—if she remained, she would surely lose her mind!

With this thought, she licked her dry, cracked lips, her eyes gleaming with greed.

"If I tell you everything, you must promise to let me go and give me money. I won't ask for much—just ten million dollars."

How audacious!

After what she did to Anna, not killing her was already more kindness than she deserved.

Yet she dared to make demands. William smirked as he replied icily, "I can arrange your release, but there will be no money."

"Why not? William, you're incredibly wealthy. What's a small amount to you? If you refuse, I'll take the truth to my grave."

No sooner had her shrill words faded than William's expression darkened, his voice as cold as a demon crawling from hell to claim souls.

"In that case, you can die here."

"After your death, I'll have your remains ground to dust and scattered, denying you peace even in death. As for your daughter..."

At this point, William fixed her with a murderous glare. "I'll have her imprisoned. You liked drugging people, didn't you? Well, I'll use all those drugs on your daughter. I'll have men guard her day and night, giving her no respite."

"You wouldn't dare! William, if you harm Megan, I swear I'll never let you get away with it!"

Her wild threats seemed childish in William's eyes.

William folded his arms across his chest, his gaze frigid. "Try me."

Seeing William's ruthlessness, Penelope finally broke down, sobbing hysterically, "William, why are you doing this? Megan is just a child. She's never wronged you!"

Her words struck William as the most laughable thing he'd ever heard.

"What about Anna? Did you ever think that Anna was just a child when you destroyed her life?"

"You used the most vicious methods to ruin Anna's life. Did you ever consider how she would survive? Now I'm merely repaying you in kind. Can't handle it already?"

William's words sent chills down Penelope's spine. She had absolutely no doubt that he would follow through on his threats.

Penelope trembled so violently that her teeth chattered. It took all her strength to control her panic.

"William."

William frowned impatiently and made a move as if to leave. "I've given you your chance. Tell me, and I'll let you go, allowing you to reunite with Megan. Refuse, and you can wait to see what happens to your daughter."

After those words, he waited a moment, but Penelope remained silent.

William's patience was nearly exhausted. As he was about to leave, Penelope's voice rang out. "I'll tell you! I'll tell you everything!"

With the truth about to be revealed, William's clenched fist beneath the table betrayed his nervousness. He cleared his throat, trying to mask his inner turmoil.

"Go ahead."

"Fine, I'll tell you everything I know. But will you really let me go to be with Megan?"

William stared at her coldly. "Are you questioning my word?"

"No, no, not at all!"

Penelope knew she had no other options now. Her only chance for survival was to reveal everything she knew.

With this realization, she took a deep breath and said, "I recognize this ring. It was found in the jewelry box that belonged to Anna's mother."

"When I tricked the bank into giving me access to the jewelry box, I gave it to Megan. She saw this ring, liked it, and started wearing it. That's when you happened to notice it."

"Later, when Megan came back asking what to do, I fabricated some documents to convince you that the ring belonged to Daphne."

William felt heartbroken as he listened.

He fixed her with an icy stare. "So this whole time, you and Megan were deceiving me?"

"Yes."

Penelope gave a malicious chuckle. "We thought we might get something out of you, but instead, we got nothing but trouble. If I'd known how it would turn out, I wouldn't have done anything."

Upon seeing her unrepentant expression, rage surged through William.

He reached out and grabbed Penelope by the throat, growling, "Do you have any idea what your actions cost me? I lost the most precious thing in my life because of you!"

When William learned that the ring had come from Anna, he became certain that she was the person he had been searching for.

And the child Anna was desperately seeking was likely his own.

Yet he and Anna had been manipulated by Penelope and Megan all this time!

His Anna had suffered so much, and now she had fled abroad—all because of Penelope and Megan's schemes.

"Let go! Let me go!"

Under his powerful grip, Penelope quickly struggled to breathe, her eyes rolling back.

She desperately slapped at William's hand, trying to break free from his grasp.

The two prison guards, sensing trouble, hurriedly stepped forward. "Mr. Sterling, this is still a prison. Please, show her mercy."

Hearing this, the rage in William's eyes subsided. He knew that even revenge couldn't be rushed.

He released his grip and instructed the two guards, "Release her."

"What?" The guards exchanged bewildered glances, hesitating. "But this woman—"

"If there's an issue, tell your warden to contact me."

With that, William maneuvered his wheelchair out of the room.

Behind him, Penelope's excited laughter echoed.

She soon burst out of the room, looking around frantically. "Megan! My Megan!"

Ivan glanced at William, and seeing no objection, opened the trunk and pulled Megan out.

"Mom!"

"Megan!"

Penelope and Megan embraced, weeping uncontrollably.

From inside the car, William watched this scene with cold detachment.

The rage in his heart intensified. If not for Penelope and Megan, he and Anna wouldn't have suffered so many misunderstandings.

Letting them reunite seemed too merciful.

With this thought, he commanded coldly, "Spread the word—no one is to provide them with any assistance."

Ivan responded, "Yes, sir."

William's gaze grew distant. He would make Penelope and Megan experience countless hardships with no hope of escape.

He wanted Penelope to taste suffering far worse than prison.

As the car slowly drove away, William took out the ring and examined it carefully.

After a long moment, he spoke, "Prepare everything. We're going to Stellarcity."
