Chapter 4
I sucked in a deep breath as I absorbed his words before puffing out a breath and leaning my head against my seat once again, I glanced at him from the side of my eyes and caught him watching me in that same position I was currently in. I shrugged a little, “Yeah, I was a little bit hurt too, and I’m sorry for pulling the girlfriend’s card, but I do have a girlfriend,” I mumbled the last part as I averted my gaze and started at the back of the seat before me.
“Don’t I know that,” I heard Jonas mutter beside me but I didn’t bother facing him again, instead I tried to ponder on the fact that Jonas and I were having a civilized conversation in s public bus after almost locking lips last night, which made me wonder about what might have happened if we had ended up having... sex?
I shuddered at the thought of me having sex with a man.
Am I supposed to bend over for him?
He never for once gave the vibe of a bottom, and from the kiss we shared the night before yester-night, I was a hundred percent sure he was a top, and a dominating one.
Why was I even thinking about sex revolving around Jonas now? I asked myself in irritation.
“So, I’d pick you up as usual in the cafe? Then we’d take the bus back home together,” Jonas said, and I eyed him from the side. He was typing on his phone, and I watched his long lashes flutter lightly. His eyes were currently slightly open, his lips were a little parted, and I watched his tongue peak out to nudge against his lip piercing before sliding back in. I glanced away and swallowed when I felt my stomach doing small flips in the same way I flipped my pancakes almost every day.
I glanced back at him to meet his eyes this time, instead of looking away, I shrugged a little before nodding my head. “Sure, I’d text you once I get there. I’d be done with classes at six in the evening.”
Jonas glanced back at his phone for a few seconds before turning his attention back towards my face before saying, “Yeah, I remember. I’ll be done at six too, but you already know that.”
We remained silent as we stared at each other until the flips happening in my stomach started to make my head pound. I didn’t know if it was normal for friends to stare at each other this way. Also was it normal to keep checking out my so-called friend’s super hot body?
But then, friends don’t go around kissing each other and giving the confused, stupid, not so straight one a boner. I flushed in embarrassment as the scene of that night suddenly flooded my head, I saw myself once again being held against a door as my hair got pulled upon like a girl’s while my mouth got plundered until I couldn’t think.
I shuddered and cut the eye contact with Jonas as I squeezed my eyes shut before turning my head around until I was once again resting against the head rest of the seat, I tried to get my wheezing sounds under control, not wanting to draw unwanted attention from people who were already getting off the bus, to myself.
I was really glad Jonas didn’t attempt another conversation with me until we got to school. I pushed to my feet and shakily swung my bag over my shoulders as I made my way out of the bus with Jonas a step before me. The bus drove away with everyone rushing to their different destinations except Jonas and I who stood a few inches away from each other, our eyes trailing over each other’s bodies.
Jonas was in a red, sleeveless jersey and I couldn’t help but notice just how perfect his bulging biceps looked. His jacket was probably in his bag, I thought to myself as I checked out how his dark blue jeans snuggled his legs. He completed the outfit with a pair of red adidas, and I couldn’t help but silently praise his dressing style. Jonas was one of the few guys I knew who actually knew how to pair clothes perfectly.
I was a pro, thanks to my big brother who was a fashion freak when he was a teenager. I followed in his footsteps without a hitch since I had him to guide me until he got into school and then lost his life.
I pushed that thought away from my mind as I started walking into the school’s gate with Jonas trailing slowly behind me.
“So, until tonight, yeah?” I turned around with my hand already raised in a waving gesture. But I paused in the air when he slowly lifted his head and smiled at me before nodding his head. His eyes dropped to my shoes and trailed upwards slowly until he was looking into my eyes once again.
The bastard was shamelessly checking me out and wasn’t even bothering to hide it. I felt color flood my face before I could stop it and I quickly threw him a wave before spinning back around and heading towards the direction leading towards my own school. I decided to ignore his amused laughter that echoed after me while I was almost running.
I paused by the stalls arranged on a part leading into the school of psychology and bought three bags of chips before shoving them into my bag and making my way into the school elevator before getting off on the floor of my first class and stepping into my class.
Almost everyone stared up from what they were doing, and the noise died down a little, I rolled my eyes a little before wearing a small smile as I waved at the people that stopped what they were doing to throw me a wave and a smile as I made my way to the second row on the far end of the class where my best friend was currently occupying, along with our new friend, Lucas.
“Hey man!” Joey gushed with a bright smile as he quickly lifted his bag from the middle of the seat and scooted over for me to have a seat. I took the seat immediately and pulled off my bag pack before turning towards Joey.
“Hey, Jojo, Lucas.” I waved at Lucas, and he smiled before waving back. Lucas joined our class a few weeks ago but just started sitting with Joey and I recently.
“Did you get the chips?” Joey asked immediately. As he quietly reached for my bag, I lifted it away from him with an eye roll.
“No man, I didn’t. Get your own chips.”
“Aw c’mon, please tell me you’re joking, babes. I haven’t eaten since last night and it feels like I might faint before the end of our first class if I don’t put anything into this stomach,” he whined as he patted his flat stomach for emphasis.
“You could eat your pens and pencils, y’know. Oh, you could also eat your learning materials,” Lucas added. I snorted when Joey turned to Lucas and glared at him before giving him the middle finger.
“How about I just eat you instead?” Joey referred to Lucas who only scoffed out a laugh before replying, “You’d suffer from food poisoning, then you’d get arrested for murder then my ghost’s gonna kill you in your sleep.”
“Yeah, right.” Joey scoffed back as he turned back around and pouted at me before trying the reach for my bag as if he was already sure I just couldn’t his requests.
“Urg fine, here’s your stupid chips,” I groaned out as I dug the chips out of my bag and handed them to him before throwing the other one at Lucas who gushed out his gratitude before tearing in. Joey gasped dramatically before pulling me into a rib crushing hug.
“Thank you so much, best friend. I don’t know what I’d ever do without you,” he gushed against my cheek before pulling away and digging into the chips immediately. I smiled at him as I ruffled his bleached hair a little while replying, “Probably get your own damn chips.”
He rolled his eyes at me and mumbled something with his mouth filled with wet chips.
Ew.
“Shut up and swallow up before trying to talk, fool,” I said to him as I tore open the last bag of chips and threw a few pieces into my mouth. My stomach growled in hunger, and I stuffed a few more chips into my mouth, my hunger suddenly hitting me all at once, reminding of the fact that I barely ate a thing throughout the whole of yesterday because of how intensely Jonas had managed to fuck with my system.
The bastard.
“So babes, remember the dude I was telling you about?” Joey started to say once I turned towards him with a raised eyebrow.
“Which one? You talk about a lot of dudes, Joey.” I reminded him before throwing more chips into my mouth and munching away. I glanced at the time, our professor would be right here in ten minutes time, and I couldn’t wait. Today was already too slow as it seems.
“The Aaron guy, the one who made out with me in the backseat of his car outside the school which I told you about. Don’t tell me you’ve forgotten?” Joey ended with a disapproving scowl. Was I supposed to keep in mind all his hookups?
Joey’s gay too. Somehow when I started attending classes as a newbie, Joey was already really familiar with everyone and was everywhere, so I just kind of stuck to his side. I found out later he was gay, but that didn’t stop us from being friends. I admit that I thought it was a little weird to be seen with a gay man, but I was already really close to Joey by then. I just couldn’t bring myself to hate him for his sexual preferences.
I actually told him about it one time when he dropped me off at my house since he wanted to go see someone around my house’s area that particular day, he wasn’t surprised by that information and had instead told me that he was totally cool with the thought of me no longer feeling comfortable around him and not really cool around gay people.
Two days later, I was at his house apologizing for acting stupid. I couldn’t believe I thought about throwing our friendship away just because he was gay. We cried a little that day before cuddling on his bed. He then started talking about how he was still traumatized by the homophobic hate he dealt with in high school. At that moment, I promised myself that I wasn’t going to allow a person’s sexuality affect the way I acted around them. Everyone was allowed to feel the hots for whatever gender fit their preferences. That was also one of the reasons I chose to live with Jonas even though I knew he was a gay man. I just didn’t see myself kissing him, and actually enjoying it thoroughly just two weeks after I moved in.
“Are you even listening? Andy!” Joey shrieked into my ear, and I jolted a little, the chips I was currently chewing on going down the wrong way which resulted in me choking and wheezing while hitting my chest with my palm.
“Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to startle you,” Joey cried out desperately as he pounded my back with his fisted palm. I halted his pounding when it felt like he was planning on punching a hole on my back. He realized how hard he was hitting my back and mumbled a quiet apology before quickly digging out his bottle of water from his bag and tearing the sealed cover off before quickly shoving it into my hand. I gratefully downed half the content before settling the bottle on the desk beside my bag of chips, at this point, half the class paused all what they were currently doing to stare curiously at the drama taking place at our desk, I rolled my eyes at their blatant curiosity before shrugging out of my hoodie when my insides started to grow hot, thanks to my coughing fits.
“Y’all can turn away now, show’s over, thanks for stopping by,” Joey loudly snapped at everyone, and I watched as they all turned away immediately, which I was really grateful for.
“I’m so sorry babes,” Joey muttered as he sank back into his seat with a cute pout, I knew he only pouted whenever he wanted to seduce someone or whenever he wanted to weave his way into someone’s mind or heart, her knew his pout was cute and never failed to use it to his own benefits.
“It’s alright, Jojo. I’ll live,” I replied to him, and l watched as his pout got replaced with a small smile.
“I love you, best friend. No homo.”
I grinned at him before rolling my eyes and replying, “Love you too, fool. No homo.”
If only he knew about what happened between Jonas and me. He definitely wouldn’t be saying this ‘no homo’ shit if he knew.
“So, as I was saying to you before you zoned out on me, I was telling you about how Aaron told me he was in love with me last night after we had sex at his house,” Joey continued with a small scowl. I scoffed out a small unbelievable laugh. “He did? Didn’t y’all just started hooking up a few days ago?”
“Exactly! And I made it clear to him that I wasn’t interested in a relationship, only for him to mention the stupid L word.”
“It’s not a stupid word, love is a pretty nice word, it’s the people revolving around that word that would make it appear good or bad, also I think your man’s just into you too much, I don’t even think he understands the meaning of love,” I explained to a brooding Jonas who nodded his head vigorously after listening to what I just said.
“I mean, he doesn’t even know my surname, Andy. I’m texting him tonight for the first time to call off our hook up agreement,” Joey informed me as he flipped his pink hair away from his face and wore a determined look on his face.
“Knowing you, that might take two to three more hookups before you call it off,” I reminded him just as our professor finally made his slow ass into our class.
Joey gasped dramatically beside me, my best friend lived for drama, “Are you trying to say that I am a slut?”
I rolled my eyes and whispered into his ear because everyone was already quieting down and jumping off their various desks, “Yes, Jojo. You can be a slut if it concerns good dick. From what I’ve gathered, this Aaron dude sure is packing, so yeah. Also you’re a slutty slut for our professor.”
Joey rolled his eyes so hard, I feared it was going to remained stuck at the top of his eyes just before he slapped his palm over his mouth to stifle a laugh. “That was a one-time thing, Andy. And besides, I was a lil bit attracted to Zac, but it just didn’t work out. I’m not attracted to Aaron that way so I’m definitely calling it off without even meeting up with him. Also, like you said, I’m a slutty slut for professor Jakes because he’s just so perfectly hot with those beards of his, and his voice... choke me please,” Joey rambled on and on before whispering the last three words out.
“No, thank you,” I replied to him with my nose scrunched up. “I wasn’t referring to you,” he said to me as he pinched my side with a small laugh while I winced in pain.
“Where’s Lucas?” I asked after noticing that Lucas has been out of the class even before Joey started to give me the tea about his current hook up.
“Oh, he said he wanted to quickly take care of something, I don’t think he’s going to attend this class. A part of me feels like he went to have sex with one of his female best friends,” Joey whispered to me, and I scrunched up my nose in irritation, perfectly mirroring joey’s expression.
“Do people have casual sex with their best friends?” I demanded while Joey shrugged as he started arranging his textbooks before him, I mirrored his action immediately on noticing everybody doing the same already.
“Yeah, most guys these days do so. They say it’s like a friend with benefits situations but in this case, they’re best friends.”
“But sex in the school restroom? Ew?” I continued, my face showing how thoroughly disgusted I was feeling. Joey retched and downed a little water from the bottle before him like the dramatic soul he was. “Tell me about it? I can never kiss someone in the school restroom please, that’s too disgusting.”
“Same,” I agreed with a little unpleasant shudder.
“If y’all are through with your little, unnecessary discussions, can you please turn your textbooks to page sixty so we can start today’s class.” Professor Jake’s thick voice boomed throughout the class which automatically killed all side discussions as everyone quickly flipped their textbooks until they get to the requested page.
“Isn’t he such a daddy?” Joey whispered into my ear, and I rolled my eyes once again while shaking my head. I tried tuning out joey’s small sighs filled with longing and fantasies all involving our unsuspecting professor until the end of the three hours class.
Yep, Joey is such a slut for our professor, he’s totally shameless.
