Chapter 40 Warning.

Chapter 40 Warning.
"What accident?"

Fuck! Why did I even say that? Gosh, what we have been avoiding and I almost gave it away. Camilla would be so angry with me now.

"Oh no-no-no-no, I didn't really mean accident. I mean um, like his-"

Camilla walked in, interrupting the attempt to paint Ursula's mind with lies as usual.

"Oh my God, you're here? You know you're not supposed to walk to anywhere without my help. I have been looking everywhere for you, Taylor."

Thank God Camilla's here. She came just in time.

"Um, yes, I was feeling a bit bored all alone in my room and I also needed some company plus I wanted to see...how Ursula was faring" Taylor said trying to get up from the bed.

"Oh no, you don't have to. I actually wanted to also be with Ursula for a little bit."

"Oh" Taylor V said, sitting back down on the bed.

"Yes."

I really don't know what I did to make Camilla and Taylor V become so kind and caring towards me.

"Thank you" Ursula said.

Camilla walked towards the bed.

Taylor shifted a bit, leaving out a space for Camilla to sit.

"Ursula, what did the nurse say? I hope the baby's doing perfectly well"

"Um ..he said...I mean she said that the baby's doing perfectly fine and all I needed to do was rest. She said my blood pressure was a bit high"

Taylor sneered so subtly that Ursula didn't notice.

What a stupid and pretending bitch! She doesn't deserve to even be with Ethan. She acts like she doesn't want it but she's so happy that she's pregnant with his heir! How are we sure that she'd even agree to leave after having this child? Gold digger.

"Taylor?"

"Hmm?"

"Ursula was just asking you a question." Camilla held a disappointing look on her face.

It pushed Taylor's buttons.

"Um, I'm sorry.. I w-was d-d-deep and lost in my thoughts. I'm so absorbed in my mind that I didn't even realiz-"

She saw that she couldn't keep up with the lies that she was telling, especially because of how she was even beginning to stammer.

So, she pretended to cry and ran out of the room, throatily sobbing.

"Taylor? Taylor, wait! Oh my goodness" Camilla called out.

Why doesn't this girl ever stay on script? What now? Oh my goodness! Now, I have to act for what I didn't even prepare for. This wasn't the conversation we had.

"I think that you should go after her. She really needs to be around someone right now". Ursula said with concern deeply written abover her brows, on her forehead.

"I'm so sorry about this. We really wanted to spend time with you. I know this ruins your mood. Forgive h-"

"No, it's totally fine. You should go after her immediately. It's important so she doesn't do something unsafe" Ursula urged.

"Sure, thank you. I'll be right back" Camilla said, lightly running out of the room, cursing inaudibly under the breath.

Poor Taylor V. I can't imagine the pain and trauma she's going through right now. But thinking about what she said earlier, what accident was she trying to tell me about?

"Ma'am, your breakfast is ready"

Ursula turned to face the maid who stood at the door in her black and white Victorian era maiden attire.

"Oh"

"Yes, ma'am. It's right at the dining table, still hot just the way you like it"

"Is it-"

"Oats, ma'am. Yes, I prepared hot oats for you like Mr Ethan instructed"

He instructed her to make me oats? What does he feel like? What is he trying to prove? Self centered man.

"Oh, that's lovely. Thank you. I'll be there soon"

"Okay, ma'am"

The maid bowed and left.

Ursula took a deep breath and then exhaled.

She stood up from the bed and headed for the bathroom.

"Mr Ethan Blackwood, it's been a very long time. Good to see you once again, if I may say"
Mr Berkeley, Ethan's therapist said.

"Hmmm..I must say that it isn't a nice thing to have to see you once again, not as my therapist, if you understand what I mean"
Ethan kept a straight face as he replied.

Mr Berkeley adjusted the smile away from his face and sat up right.

"Oh, I'm so sorry about, Mr Ethan. I just thought it was a nice joke to make. Now, I know that it doesn't go well with you, I won't make a j-"

"I'm here for a reason, right?"

"Please, let's just try to get straight to business. It's urgent" Ethan's irritation was now visible from his head to toe.

"I'm all ears, Mr Ethan"

"What can make me forget about everything that happened?"

"The incident yea-"

"Exactly"

"Well, forgetting it isn't as possible as you c-"

"So, you mean you can't make me forget it? What do I pay you for?!" Ethan stood up, almost yelling as he flung his file in the air, scattering the papers in it, all around.
