Chapter 34 Falling for the devil 2

Chapter 34 Falling for the devil 2
Ursula shivered as she stepped out of the shower.

Her hair plastered to her face, still dripped with warm water.

She patted her hair dry like her mother would do and then say "Pat it, don't scrub. It keeps your hair healthy".

Her teeth vibrated due to the AC.

Which person in their right senses would put an air conditioner in the bathroom? Probably someone without any. Ethan.

She had gotten into the shower earlier because of a belly cramp.

Belly cramps usually come when I'm seeing my period. I don't know what's wrong. Was it because of something I ate? I had only been having tea and biscuits these days.

She heard footsteps coming from the room towards the toilet.

He's back.

She quickly rushed to the door and locked it from inside with shaky cold hands.

Then, Ethan knocked at the door.

"I'm having my bath" she said out loud.

"Open the door this minute" he commanded, irritated.

"I'm almost done" she lied.

Just go away. Let me be in peace. You probably want to force yourself on me, not even caring that I'm carrying a child.

The knocking persisted, making her heart beat faster.

She chewed her fingernails.

How can I open the door? I'm only wearing a towel. God...and it's not even reaching my knee.

"Ursula?!" Ethan barked.

And then, at that moment, she felt it.

A sting like thousands of needles were poking in her lungs and like heavy hand was pressing her chest.

Her eyes widened.

Her inhaler was in the bedroom.

Immediately, she turned the door knob.

The door opened

"What on earth is wro-"

She slipped past Ethan running to the drawer beside the bed.

She rummaged through it.

Tears began to escape the side of her eyes.

The towel round her body had slipped off her underarms and down to her waist.

Ethan's eyes studied her carefully.

And then he understood.

He walked towards her.

"It's here" he said.

She looked up but her vision was blurred.

Then, she fell backwards but Ethan's hand stopped her bareback and head from reaching the cold marble tiles.

He supported her head and pressed puffs of oxygen into her mouth.

"One..two..three..breathe in...four..five" he said.

Then, she coughed loudly.

Her eyes burned with tears, now a bit red.

Her chest heaved up and down moving her perly boobs in sync.

Ethan managed to get himself to look away from them and looked at Ursula's face before her eyes rose to him.

"Than-" she almost said before realizing that the towel had fallen off her chest.
No. He has been staring at my naked body all this time. How didn't I know when the towel fell off? What a pervert.

Ethan pulled the duvet off the bed and put it over her body.

"Are you...okay?" he said.

She looked away.

He exhaled, his minty breath cooling Ursula's upper lip.

"I'll be in the bathroom" he said, then got up.

Ursula watched him walk away from her.

I hate you.

She got up too, walked to the wardrobe, searching for something that would make her feel warm enough.

Gowns. Gowns. Gowns, I want some joggers. But I guess I'll have to manage.

She put the other gown she didn't want back on the wardrobe rail and then something fell on her feet.

She hissed.

Then, she looked down.

A book. It looked like a journal.

She threw the gown on the bed and bent down to pick the book.

The black cover was as hard as a rock. It felt like it was made of iron.

It had the name ETHAN BLACKWOOD engraved on the front in white.

I know I shouldn't open this. I mean, even though he's a horrible person, I shouldn't be invading his privacy. Even he invades others'.

She placed the book back in the wardrobe and walked to the bed, picking up her gown and wearing it.

She felt warmer now, even though her hair was still damp.

I forget things all the time. The wardrobe door.

When she closed it, a part of her paid attention to the bathroom and could hear the sound of a shaving razor.

But what if I peek? Just once.

She opened the wardrobe door.

She reached into the wardrobe for the book.

What could someone like him even write about? Enslaving and using other women?

Her heart raced.

She swallowed.

Excitement, curiosity and anxiety.

She turned the first page, expectant.

The day I'd never forget in my life.
I'll never forget the day I decided to take the both of you for a drive. I'll never forget how you both said no at first and I still insisted.
I'll never forget how you both screamed when I was speeding. You asked me to stop.

The door creaked.

She threw in the book into the wardrobe and fingered her other clothes.

Ethan stood there with a towel wrapped around his waist, looking a bit confused.

Ursula swallowed and closed the wardrobe door.

"What were you doing?" he asked
