Chapter 37

Chapter 37
Isabella is alone in a classroom. She had just had mathematics class.

Before class had ended the maths teacher had ran off in a hurry and asked her to clean the chalkboard and bring the activity she had instructed everyone to do to the teacher's staffroom when she was done.

Putting away the duster after finishing cleaning the chalkboard, Isabella is startled to see the Beta walk in.

She's forever happy to see him, and whenever they're close, she feels butterflies in her stomach. A thousands, she likes to think at how extreme the feeling is.

The Beta was attired in a white shirt, black pants, and shoes. He also wore an expensive shiny silver watch.

Isabella notice his white shirt, and she remembers his shirtless body, how muscular he was, and also discovering that both of his arms were covered in tattoos beneath his long-sleeve shirt. Coyly, she lowered her gaze as he approached her.

"Good morning, Mr Tyde," she said softly, remaining to keep her gaze down.

"Good morning, Isabella," said Tyde.

"I'm here to give you an enforcer number, Ms Tara. Please call her if you're in trouble now instead of me," he said.

Immediately, Isabella's eyes raised to look at him.

"Are you doing so because I called you by mistake last night?" Isabella asked dishearteningly.

Unable to meet her blue eyes after remembering her humping the pillow and calling his name. The Beta turned his back and said in haste, "As the Beta of the pack. I'll be busy and won't be able to come to your rescue every time."

It was true. He was now working on a case about a few rogues who kept furtively entering the land. They stole nothing and caused no trouble, but still, there was something suspicious about them, he heard. He plans to find out what they're up to before it breaks out into a big problem.

He could have assigned this job to someone else since it wasn't significant enough to require his attention, but he chose to take it upon himself, hoping it would distract him from his desire to claim his fated mate.

After saying this, he quickly walked away.

Isabella watched sadly as he went away.

At lunch, his best friend now sat with her boyfriend. Isabella was happy for her that she got the boy she wanted but heartbroken that she didn't get the male she too loved.

The more she tries to get close to Mr Tyde, the further he goes from her, she thinks. She was starting to accept that she just wasn't his type. Her heart ached; she'll never be with the man of her dreams.

Arriving home from school. Isabella lay in bed, still feeling down about never being with the Beta.

She got off the bed and began to take off her clothes. She was going for a run.

A run in the woods always cheers her up.

She shifted into her wolf before leaving the house. Her wolf's fur was a very pale brown colour.

The moment she's at the back of the house, she runs into the woods.

The breeze brushed against her fur and whispered in her ears.

The scents of the woods and soil fill her nose.

Immediately, she slowed down, now sensing she wasn't alone, picking up a sharp lime scent mixed with the sweat of a wolf, a male close by.

Isabella spun around, returning as fast as she could to her house. Her heart now raced with fear, sensing she might be in danger.

Thankfully, she returned home safely. She went into her bathroom to take a shower.

While she was in her room putting on her clothes, She smelt the wolf again, now outside on her land.

She ran for her phone on the bed. As she was about to call the beta, she paused, remembering he didn't want her to call him anymore, and therefore called the number he had given her to contact whenever she's in trouble.

"Hello," she had answered.

"I'm Isabella; the Beta said I should call you whenever I'm in danger." Isabella panicked.

"I'm on my way," she responded.

Isabella hung up the phone and went to hide in her closet, terrified and praying that the enforcer would come quickly, as she now heard the strange male wolf trying to enter her home.
