Chapter 119 - Trinity POV
Chapter 119 - Trinity POV
Before I could roll out of bed—or even remember that I desperately had to pee—Irune’s strong arms wrapped around me, and his lips found the mark he had so lovingly bestowed just hours ago.
My breath caught. Just thinking about it made my core tighten.
“Clear those thoughts of yours, love. We have things to do,” he whispered against my skin.
“Then you should probably release me,” I chuckled.
“But you fit so perfectly in this spot.” His hands began to roam.
“As much as I would love to stay right here with you all day, we need to call a meeting.”
Irune groaned and flopped back onto the bed, arms spread wide. “I wish we could have just one day.”
I glanced over at him and maneuvered myself off the bed. “I’m surprised we even got the few hours we did.” I strolled to his side, leaned over, and placed a soft kiss on his lips. “I’m going to my room to shower and get dressed.”
“No need. You can shower and dress in here.”
He stood and walked to the closet, opening the door wide. Inside were my clothes… and much, much more.
“When did you have time to do this?”
“I had two of the omegas do it when I came to find you. I was hopeful the curse would be broken and you could finally be where you belonged.”
“Where I belong?” I asked, raising an eyebrow with a wide smile.
“Yes. Where you belong. Right here next to me.” He laughed.
I grabbed a pair of socks and tossed them at him. He ducked easily.
“Call Evan, JR, and Tasha to your office in an hour,” I said, “then bring your sexy self into this shower with me.”
“Mmm. Yes, ma’am. I like the way you command me.” He hopped out of bed, eyes glazing slightly as he mind-linked them.
While he did that, I turned on the shower.
As I stripped, I caught my reflection in the mirror—and then my mark.
It had fully taken shape.
A smaller version of the Goddess mark Zuri carries.
The sight stole my breath.
My body felt lighter. Stronger. Sharper. More focused. More in control.
But the weight of how we got here pressed heavily on my chest.
Ms. Kline had sacrificed herself.
Raubtier had sacrificed himself.
There had to have been another way. They were never given a choice. They made that decision for us—without hesitation.
I could not let the time they gave us be wasted.
I am no longer Trinity, the lone wolf.
I am no longer Trinity, the designer.
Now I am Trinity, carrier of the Goddess’s will.
Trinity, Queen—called by the Goddess herself.
Fighter. Guardian. Protector of all supernaturals.
Stephen will not get what he wants.
Too much pain.
Too much blood.
Too many sacrifices.
As if he felt my resolve, Irune appeared behind me, wrapping his arms around me, our eyes meeting in the mirror.
“I feel what you feel,” he said softly. “Your resolve is my resolve. We are in this. Together.”
He took my hand and pulled me into the steam.
No more words were needed.
Later, dressed and composed, we walked hand in hand to his office.
Evan, Tasha, JR, and Cole were already seated around the conference table. As we entered, they all stood and bowed.
I nearly forgot about Cole—and the pack members who had followed him. We still needed to discuss their future. Their place.
“You don’t need to bow,” I said gently. “In this room, we are all friends. We are all pack.”
Tasha stepped closer, eyes shining. “Your aura is different. Your divinity comes off you in waves. We can’t help it. This will take some getting used to.”
“I’m still the same best friend you’ve always known.”
“You are,” she said softly, “and you aren’t. You’re so much more now. But I’m here by your side—always and forever. We are here for both of you. We are your loyal pack. We will follow you wherever you go.”
Emotion swelled in my chest. I looked around the room, then up at Irune, and smiled. “Thank you.”
Irune took my hand and led me to a chair. He sat first and pulled me gently into his lap.
“Alright,” he said. “Let’s get this meeting started. Who wants to provide an update first?”
JR spun his laptop around. “There’s been no movement from Stephen’s camp. Whatever Kline did slowed him down—for now. Our sentries are still monitoring and reporting every hour.”
Evan spoke next. “Cole and I have been training the warriors and working through strategies and tactics for when the battle begins. Tasha’s been working with the elders and children, making sure everyone knows where to go and what to do.”
JR nodded. “Your mom has been in contact with my dad. During the chaos Kline and Raubtier caused, he was able to slip away. He’s outside the border for now. He says he has a few things to handle to ensure your mom’s safety before he joins us.”
“Understood,” Irune said. “We can move my mom out of hiding. The safest place for her will be here, in the packhouse.”
“Yes, Alpha,” JR replied.
Irune continued, voice firm. “We will be calling a meeting. Anyone seeking sanctuary and willing to fight Stephen will be welcome. It won’t be just wolves. We can expect all supernaturals.”
“We’ll use the training grounds,” I added. “I fully expect Stephen to send spies. I don’t yet understand all of my powers, but you all saw what happened this morning—when everyone was pulled into my mind.”
The room grew quiet.
The shift had begun.
And everyone felt it.
