Chapter 117 - Trinity POV

Chapter 117 - Trinity POV
I came back to my body with a gasp.
Power roared through me, not wild or violent, but vast. Controlled. Settled. Like an ocean that finally remembered its shores.
Irune was beneath me.
His arms tightened instantly, instinctively, as if he had felt the exact second my consciousness returned. Our eyes locked, and for one breathless moment neither of us spoke.
Because there was no need to.
I felt him.
Not the bond the way it had been before. This was deeper. Intimate in a way that felt almost indecent, like I was standing naked inside his soul. I could feel his relief, sharp and overwhelming. His awe. His fear of losing me fading into something steadier.
Love.
Raw and undeniable.
“You’re back,” he whispered.
“I never left,” I said, and realized it was true.
The room was charged, the air thick with moon-magic. Silver light spilled across the walls, pulsing faintly beneath my skin and his. The mark on my neck burned warmly. His glowed in answer.
The soul bond breathed between us.
Irune shifted beneath me, then froze.
“Do you feel that?” he asked.
I smiled softly. “I feel everything.”
His Alpha aura rolled outward without his permission. Not aggressive. Not dominant. Reverent. The room responded to him, the very shadows bending as if acknowledging their king.
And me.
Power curled in my chest, heavy and luminous. It wasn’t the wild magic I’d struggled to contain before. This felt… aligned. Purposeful. As if something ancient had finally clicked into place.
I could feel Selena’s blessing still wrapped around us, a quiet presence like moonlight on water.
“I can hear you,” Irune said slowly, wonder threading his voice. “Not your voice. You. Your thoughts. Your emotions.”
“And I can feel your heartbeat,” I replied. “Even when I’m not touching you.”
His hand slid up my spine, grounding us both.
“This changes everything,” he murmured.
“Yes,” I agreed. “But it doesn’t scare me.”
He laughed softly, breathless. “Good. Because I don’t think I could survive you being afraid of this.”
I leaned down, pressing my forehead to his.
“There’s no hesitation. Not now. Not ever.”
The bond pulsed, answering my words.
Irune’s eyes darkened, not with hunger this time, but with something deeper. Devotion. Certainty.
“You are my moon,” he said. “And I will spend the rest of my life making sure nothing ever dims your light.”
“And you,” I said, brushing my thumb over his mark, “are my anchor. My Alpha. My forever.”
The power between us settled at last, sinking into bone and blood and soul.
Outside, the moon climbed higher.
And somewhere deep within me, I knew.
The goddess had not just bound us.
She had awakened us.
Completing the bond did not only awaken us.
Zuri and Malik were back.
I felt them instantly, their souls renewed, their presence no longer fractured or distant. Their connection was stronger than it had ever been, braided tightly with ours. Their aura surged outward, ancient and commanding, unlike anything I had ever felt before.
They would be feared.
“No, they will not,” Irune whispered.
I turned my head to him. “You heard that.”
“We will not let them be feared,” he said firmly. “We will rule fairly. We will be respected, but never feared.”
A smile tugged at my lips. “I’m going to have to get used to you knowing my thoughts.”
“I don’t think it’s a bad thing,” he replied. “I can keep you from overthinking, and you can keep me from—”
“Underthinking,” I cut in with a soft chuckle.
He laughed, rolling us effortlessly until he was above me, his weight warm and grounding. He looked down at me like he was studying for an exam, eyes focused, intent.
“I was going to say overreacting,” he said.
I ran my hand through his beard, feeling the roughness beneath my fingers, and did exactly what he was already thinking.
I kissed him.
Hard.
I couldn’t get enough of him. Of his mouth. His touch. The way the bond hummed every time our skin met. Want coiled low in my belly, aching and insistent.
“I’ve got you, babe,” he whispered.
And then he slid into me, giving me exactly what I needed.
His mouth traced my mark with reverence, one hand tangled in my locs while the other teased and grounded me at once. Pleasure rolled through me fast and sharp, my body responding without hesitation.
I came quickly, the release stealing my breath.
And before I could even recover, another wave was already building.
I kissed him with everything I had, pouring all of it into the bond.
Because I knew, deep in my soul, that my body would never get enough of this man.
And I didn’t want it to.
