Chapter 64

Amanda screamed as she felt the electric bolt flow through her body. Tristan was not giving her any chance to recover from his last surge.

“This would go a whole lot smoother if you just told me what I wanted to know,” Persephone explained as she looked at her fingernails and not the mangled girl that was hanging across from her.

“I can’t tell you what I don’t know,” she whimpered.

'Willow, please, please help me,' she pleaded with her wolf.

'I’m here. You would have been dead already. You’re doing great, stay strong.'

Amanda shook her head and said aloud, “I can’t, I can’t.”

Persephone walked up to her and gently pushed her son aside. “Go for a walk, Tristan. It’s mummy's turn to work with her.”

Tristan gave Amanda a malicious grin and walked out of the room. He turned and walked down a hall before ending up in the main room where Samuel and Ophelia had been sitting and waiting.

Ophelia jumped up when she saw Tristan. “Is she dead yet?”

Tristan gave her an annoyed look that cost him a growl from her father.

Tristan looked at him with disrespect. He never knew his father and he wasn’t going to listen to anything this wolf had to say. “No, she’s stronger than we anticipated. Mother starting to work on her now.”

Ophelia moped as her shoulders dropped and she plopped back down in her seat. “Hudson should have rejected her by now. Her wolf should be weak by the rejection. I want her gone!” Ophelia ranted as she crossed her arms over her chest and pouted.

Tristan was losing his patience with this girl, in fact, he was losing patience with all of them. He could feel his anger grow inside of him. He ran his hand through his hair. “I’ll be back in a little while,” he told them and headed out.

Samuel looked over at his daughter once Tristan had left the room. He gave her a stern look that told her that he wasn’t up to playing her silly little games. Ophelia unfolded her arms and sighed a heavy sigh. Samuel pinched the bridge of his nose. It was his wife that used to handle his daughter and kept her happy, at least that’s what he thought since he never heard any complaints from either of them. It had only been a few months since he died. He didn’t feel any remorse about her death but knew the kids missed her every day. That was the one good thing about not marrying your mate. He never had to experience the loss of losing his mate.

Samuel winced when he heard the girl scream again. He got up from his chair. “I’ve got to get back to the pack," he told her as he headed for another door that led to a tunnel that would take him back to the pack. He turned around and looked his daughter square in the eye and said, “You behave yourself.”

Ophelia nodded, “Yes, Daddy.”

Tristan stepped out of the hidden room and took a deep breath. He reached into his pocket to pull out the herbal pills his mother had given him to help control his temper but they weren’t there. He needed to get those pills.

Ruby was pacing the floor as she waited for the arrival of the kids. She was upset about Amanda being taken once again. Why couldn’t everyone just leave this child alone?

Her phone started to ring in her hand. It was Luna Cynthia calling.

“Hello, Luna, have you found something?” Ruby asked when she answered the phone.

“Hi, Ruby, I think I have. After talking with the elders and explaining the situation we may have found a loophole. I’m going to email you the information. The fewer people know about this the better the chances we have of it working.”

Ruby closed her eyes as she felt a sense of relief flow through her body. “Thank you, Luna Cynthia, I appreciate all your help with this.”

“Ruby, I love her just as much as you do. She’s family to us. Also, the pack is coming to you. We want to do what we can to help rescue Amanda.”

Ruby’s heart filled with pride for her pack when she heard this. “I think that’s a wonderful idea. I will send you the address and let everyone know that you’re on your way.”

“We’ll get her back, Ruby. I’ll see you soon,” Cynthia said to her before ending the call.

Ruby was so happy to hear that they would also have the support of the pack helping them. They needed all the support they could get. They still didn’t know which pack was helping the coven.

Ruby walked through the house looking for Zachary; she found him in the study with his nose in a book looking defeated. Ruby walked into the room and over to the desk. Zachary looked up and smiled. “Well, hello, my sweet,” he said to her.

Ruby smiled as she pushed his chair back and sat down on his lap. She wrapped her arms around his neck and leaned in to kiss him. Ruby’s heart fluttered as Zachary returned the kiss with as much passion as she was giving him. When she finally pulled back, he caught his breath.

“Whatever I did to deserve such a kiss I will do again and again,” he said with a smile.

Ruby giggled. “I just heard from Luna Cynthia and they may have found a loophole for breaking the spell on the bracelet. She’s sending me the information about it. Also, the pack is heading this way to help out,” she informed him as she pulled out her cell and sent her the location of where they were.

“That is good news,” he told her as he pulled her in for another kiss.

Ruby’s wolf Nadia purred with excitement being close to their mate. She didn’t want the moment to end.

“Hello? Anyone here?” they heard a voice call from down the hall.

Zachary groaned as he pulled away from the kiss. “Hopefully, someday soon, our life will be normal again.”

Ruby giggled as Zachary nipped at her neck before he let her get up from his lap. Ruby rushed down the hall to meet up with Vita. Standing next to Vita was a girl whom she had never met before.

“Ruby!” Vita called out when she saw her walking down the hall.

Ruby walked up to Vita and pulled her into a hug. “I’m glad you are safe and at home.” She pulled away from Vita and looked at the girl. “Hi, I’m Ruby, and you are...?” she asked as she extended out her hand to greet her.

“Gretchen?” Ruby heard Zachary call out from behind her.

Ruby looked behind her at Zachary, confused. How did he know the girl?

“Mother, I think you need to come in here,” Zachary called out.
