CHAPTER 19: LOST
Since Ryder had turned up, we'd all been working day and night to make sure we could find Quinn. She was gone. With no trace. No new lead. Nothing. She was my best friend. I hoped my stalker hadn't gotten hold of her. Tortured her or worse. Killed her. The thought of not seeing her again killed me, and I felt utterly sick at the prospect. Suddenly, crying broke my thoughts. Haze brought in a crying Ella. She screamed angrily in protest for some reason. I'd never been around a baby, so I had no idea what to expect. Haze studied me as he rocked Ella.
"Everything okay ?" He quizzed as Ella began settling down.
"I was just thinking about Quinn", I mumbled, throwing my hair from my eyes briskly.
" I have a huge favor to ask," he said quietly, looking between me and Ella. Panic settled in my gut, and I shook my head.
" I wouldn't ask unless it was totally necessary. You have a free period, so I thought while I was in class, you could maybe look after her. I can't, and the childminder is sick," he stated, his big green eyes pleading with me helplessly.
"Fine", I sighed, taking Ella from him carefully. He parked her pushchair by my dining table and smiled.
"Thanks, baby, I'll be back soon", he said, and with one quick kiss, he was out the door. I stared down at baby Ella and nodded. I could do this. Right?
***
Ella was lying in her pushchair asleep. Fixing my hair in the mirror, I sighed quickly. The door opened, and Gage entered with Tyler. A soft smile fell on his lips. "I wondered who Ella was with", smirked Gage, his blue eyes staring me down as he twiddled his hair absently.
"Me myself and I", I stated, bowing quickly. A small smile tugged on Tyler's beautiful mouth. "Any news on Quinn?" I asked, a small pang of worry etching into my mouth making it dry.
" No, I've been on it all day. There's nothing at the moment", said Gage, glancing at Ella.
" Have you sent in college applications ?" asked Tyler, taking a seat on the sofa. He was in just a shirt and black ripped jeans today, and my mouth unconsciously watered at the sight. Fuck me. Please.
"I totally forgot we had to do that", I moaned, wiping my hands over my face.
"Why don't I come over this evening, and we'll work on it?" managed Tyler, grey eyes glowing. All I could do was nod.
"Where have you applied to ?" I asked, looking at Gage.
"Nowhere I'm staying here. I'm taking over my dad", he said, looking at Tyler. Panic made me flinch slightly.
" So everyone's splitting up", I croaked out, clearing my throat quickly. I'd be leaving them all. Leaving the five men who made me feel safe and protected. I felt sick.
"I can't leave you all", I whispered, scared.
"It will only be for a while", murmured Tyler, staring at me. I nodded, putting this conversation on hold for a while. This was too much. In a few months, we'd leave school and start college. I'd leave my boys and I don't think I could deal with that. Leaving them all for a few years. That would kill me. Suddenly, the door opened, and the rest of Fight Club entered, looking bewildered. Straight away, anxiety played in my stomach. "What's going on ?" I asked.
"We've got a lead on Quinn", said Forest, throwing his phone swiftly to Gage, who caught it without even looking.
Gage rifled through the phone. "Quinn was alone", he murmured, confounded.
"What do you mean ?" I asked, looking into his light blue eyes.
"She hasn't been kidnapped. She's run away for some reason. It's the weekend we are taking a trip," managed Gage, hurrying into my bedroom and throwing my clothes onto the bed.
" What do you mean a trip? You and I are going to find Quinn and bring her back. You guys are going to keep an eye on my dad," he said, packing my bag. He gestured to the boys as he continued.
" I don't know what Quinn's playing at," stated Gage furiously.
I looked at the boys and sighed. "Boston, here we come", I murmured.
***
Pulling up at a motel, I glanced at Gage as he turned off the engine. We'd decided on finding Quinn tomorrow. He hadn't spoken to me the whole day. He was being very moody. More than typical, Gage is moody. Entering the room, I looked at him and then at the only bed. "Are we sharing ?" I asked.
"Yeah, we are", he muttered, pulling his top over his head. My breath hitched as I stared him down. Tattoos covered his chest and arms. Something I rarely got to see but couldn't help but admire every time I did. He was beautiful like on a whole new level.
"Finished staring", he whispered as he studied me. Those cold blue eyes shined sharply. I flicked my gaze away quickly. That's when he prowled forward, and I stepped back. Possessiveness shined gloriously on his face. That's when he latched his hand forward, gripping close to me, and I breathed heavily. Trying to regain some sort of equilibrium. He stroked his hands down my thighs softly, and I whimpered. The cocky asshole smirked. He actually smirked as he pushed me back onto the bed. His sweet lips met mine, and this kiss was nothing like I'd ever experienced. It was sweet, so unlike the man himself. It was almost nervous. That's when I realized he was savoring me. He pulled his lips away and slowly searched my face for any sign I wanted him to stop.
"Don't stop" I whispered quietly. He grinned boyishly. Then, he ducked his mouth to my neck. His mouth was on me, and I moaned his name. Then he fucked me. Hard.
***
Waking up the next morning to a phone ringing, I sighed, leaning over.
"What?" I groaned tiredly, feeling Gage's arms pull me back.
"Story, help me!" screamed Quinn down the phone, and I shot up.
