Chapter 300

Chapter 300
Third Person POV

Sophie's visions started again. She was trapped in darkness, not the comforting darkness of sleep, but a threatening void. Thick black smoke coiled around her like serpents, bringing flashes of bloody images—everyone she knew lying in pools of blood, their faces forever frozen in terror.

This can't be real! Everyone I know... dead? The pain and injustice of it all crushed the air from her lungs.

"This can't happen," she choked out to the void.

"It hasn't happened yet," a melodious female voice responded, instantly dispersing the chaos around her.

Sophie whirled around as the darkness suddenly parted, revealing a breathtaking sight—a luminous woman stood before her, silver hair flowing like moonlight, her eyes containing ancient wisdom. Oh my God, that's... the Moon Goddess! The legends are true!

"My Lady," Sophie instinctively bowed her head, her heart thundering.

"Look at me, child," the goddess's voice was gentle yet unyielding. "I am proud of you."

Sophie gathered the courage to look up, trembling as she asked, "You're proud of me? But I've been captured... I failed."

The Moon Goddess smiled gently. "You're exactly where you need to be. Your mission is to protect Lira, for she carries something that will keep the world safe."

"The magical stone, right?" Sophie asked eagerly.

The goddess shook her head. "Something more precious... she carries a child."

A child? Lira is pregnant? Sophie's eyes widened, too shocked to speak.

"This child will inherit great power," the goddess continued, her voice becoming more urgent, "greater than any in history. She will protect the world from my brother Richel's influence."

Holy shit! Lira's baby is the savior! Anxiety and joy flooded Sophie's heart like a tidal wave. If Lira dies, the world is finished. "Lira MUST survive!" she nearly shouted.

"When you wake, the drug's effects will fade," the goddess instructed. "You must release your vision for all to see. Make them understand that taking the stone's power will only bring terrible consequences."

Sophie frowned in confusion: "Why don't you just stop all this yourself?"

"I cannot interfere with free will," the goddess's voice carried ancient sorrow, "but you can show the truth."

"But I've never—"

"My power is already within you," the goddess interrupted. "But I must warn you—this will require enormous energy, and you may not survive."

A moment of silence, then Sophie took a deep breath, straightening her spine. If this is my destiny... "I'll do it."

Relief and pride flashed in the goddess's eyes. "You are a brave girl."

"I must protect the world from your brother," Sophie said firmly, without a trace of hesitation.

The goddess leaned down to kiss her forehead, and blinding light surged like a tidal wave, consuming everything.

Sophie jerked awake, gasping for air, nearly tumbling off the hay pile in the stable. She looked around—no one was there. The numbing effect of the drugs was wearing off, sensation returning to her fingers and toes.

Outside, the shouts and roars grew louder. The battle has already begun! She struggled to her feet, grabbing a pitchfork for support as she staggered toward the door.

I have to find Lira. I don't have much time.

Lira's POV

Wild werewolves were in hot pursuit as our car hurtled toward the logging camp, nearly out of control. Derek gripped the steering wheel with white knuckles while Cole fired silver bullets from the window, one after another.

"Hold on tight!" Derek shouted as the car violently rocked around a sharp turn.

Jesus Christ, I hope we don't get torn to pieces by these lunatics before we arrive! I clutched the seat, my stomach churning from the constant jolting.

When we finally burst into the logging camp, the scene before us froze my blood—dozens of supernatural creatures attacking the protective barrier maintained by the witches. Werewolves, vampires, and other monsters I couldn't even name, all frantically trying to break through.

FUCK! This is way worse than I imagined!

A massive feral werewolf suddenly smashed through the car window, his sharp claws just inches from my face. "We know you have the magic stone! Hand it over!" he snarled, spittle flying onto my face.

BANG! A gunshot rang out, and the werewolf dropped with a hole in his forehead. Nathan stood there, gun barrel still smoking, protective fury burning in his eyes. He yanked the car door open and pulled me out, his strong arms wrapping tightly around my waist.

"Don't leave my side," he growled low. "Not for a second."

The battlefield was absolute hell. Stella and the witches' hands glowed as they shot magic like raindrops toward enemies; Derek's werewolf tribe fought alongside the forest guards, tearing into invaders trying to break through. The air was filled with roars, screams, and the smell of blood.

"The house is magically protected!" Stella shouted when she spotted us. "Your father is safe inside!"

"What about Sophie?" I called back, my heart racing. God, I hope she's okay!

"Sophie might be in the stables or barn!" Stella yelled back. "Find her quickly!"

We made our way across the battlefield, Nathan like a human weapon, taking down every enemy who tried to get near me. Cole covered our backs, precisely shooting threats too far for Nathan to reach.

When we finally reached the barn, we found Victoria—tied tightly to a post, her face streaked with tears, her mouth gagged with cloth.

"Oh my God!" I rushed over, quickly removing the gag. "Are you okay? What happened?"

"Linda..." Victoria began sobbing as soon as she could speak, "she captured Sophie and threatened to kill her if I didn't help her..."

Nathan swiftly cut the ropes binding her. Victoria shook her wrists, restoring circulation.

"Where did Linda go? Where's Sophie?" I asked urgently.

"The stables... she left Sophie there..." Victoria said shakily. "Linda already has all the elemental crystals... she wants someone else to help her take the magic stone, then reapply the forgetting spell..."

Damn it! She's ready! I felt sick but forced myself to focus. "We need to find Sophie!"

With the others covering us, I rushed to the stables, finding the door locked from outside. Without hesitation, Stella waved her hand, and the lock exploded. We burst in to find Sophie wobbling on her feet, leaning against a pitchfork for support.

"Sophie!" I rushed forward, catching her swaying body just in time. Thank God she's alive!

"Lira..." she smiled weakly, gripping my arms tightly. "I saw her... the Moon Goddess... I have a mission."

Her eyes sparkled with determination I'd never seen before, sending a wave of unease through me. What is she planning to do?

"My mission is to protect you," Sophie continued, her voice growing stronger. "I've seen the world after your death... it's a disaster. I have to stop it."
