Chapter 164: The Day After--Meeting with the Council Part 2
"Then it's settled. When we have the pack meeting, we will employ this strategy to see who wants Luna Sandra as their Luna," announced Elder Frampton.
"So, this means that you're not going to disband the pack, right?" I questioned the Council.
"That is correct. It would be punishing everyone for the misdeeds of a few. It would not be right. This would actually be helpful in identifying who we need to punish," revealed Elder Terrance.
"What would you do to those who identify themselves as not supporting Luna Sandra?" questioned Alpha Scott to no one in particular.
"What should we do? Any suggestions?" wondered Elder Graham to everyone in the room.
"How about if I take them into my pack? I can help show them the error of their ways," explained Alpha Scott.
"How would you show them the error of their ways?" wondered Michael suspiciously.
"Let's just say, we have a special place for them to live and work to help them understand what it means to live and work as a united pack not a divided one," chuckled Alpha Scott with a gleam in his eye. "It would be my pleasure to assist those who cannot grasp that concept."
"That would be most helpful. Thank you for your assistance," James declared as he extended his hand to Alpha Scott.
"My pleasure Alpha James. You and your Luna don't deserve this treatment. I've watched Sandra grow up. She doesn't deserve this treatment and neither do you. When I saw Sandra on her knees begging Elder Graham to punish her instead of your pack, I knew I needed to help you in some way. She should incur no punishment whatsoever. Those wretched souls will be taught a lesson. Mark my words," declared Alpha Scott to James and everyone present.
"Thank you so much. I'm not sure what I did to deserve everyone's help like this but I am humbled that you are willing to help my mate retain his pack. Thank you, Alpha Scott and Luna Yvette," I professed as I bowed toward them.
"Luna Sandra, it is an honor to assist you and your mate. I am in agreement with the Council, what your Grandfather did to you is an abomination. Then, when former Elder Jeremiah commanded you to reject your mates, I heard from the Council, your mates, well, if half of what I heard was true of what you endured, you have suffered far too much already," declared Alpha Scott.
"We will take care of everything from here Sandra. We just need you to feel better. How's your headache?" inquired Elder Graham.
"Tell them the truth Sandy," demanded Pat as he looked me in the eye. "I can not only sense her wolf, but I know exactly how she's feeling," explained Patrick.
"It's not getting any better. In fact, it's worse. I can tough it out until after the Pack Meeting. Then, I can go to the pack hospital for treatment Elder Graham," I insisted looking at Patrick.
"Are you sure Sandra? We don't want to cause you any more pain," Elder Graham stated with certainty.
Just then, Greyson and Owen came barreling into the living room. "Mom! Mom! Are you okay?" shrieked Greyson.
"Mom! Greyson says you're hurting again! What's wrong?" shouted Owen as he ran over to me.
"Boys, calm down. I have a migraine. Please don't be so loud. You know how much it hurts," I softly told them as they hugged me.
"The boys somehow can tell when she gets the headaches or when she's in extreme distress like at Rock Hollow when she was attacked," explained Davidson. "Greyson seems to be very closely linked to Sandra."
"I remember how hysterical he was before he knew what had happened to her," recalled Elder Terrance.
Both Greyson and Owen wrapped their arms around me. They were trying to put their hands on my forehead to spread healing to me without being obvious but it was kind of hard.
"Shouldn't you be in bed Mom? Why are you in the living room?" asked Greyson.
"Yeah, when you have your headaches, Dr. Marsh says for you to be in bed," added Owen matter of factly.
"Well, we just finished having a meeting with the Council members. Now, we were getting ready to go to the Rock Canyon Pack Meeting," I explained to the boys.
"No Mom. You can't go to the meeting. You need to rest. We can stay here and take care of you. Daddy, she can't go to the meeting," pleaded Greyson. "She needs to rest and feel better."
"Daddy, please make Mommy stay home. She doesn't need to be around all those people who hate and disrespect her. She doesn't deserve that," Owen begged his father.
The Council members looked at each other and shook their heads. What is the saying, 'Out of the mouths of babes?' Even children see what is happening while some adults are blind to it. Unbelievable.
"Greyson, Owen, I need to go to the Pack Meeting. I want to send a clear message to the Rock Canyon Pack. I support my mate-Alpha James. You know I am not a coward. I do not hide from those who belittle or besmirch my name. I never have and I never will. I will rest afterward, okay?" I asked my boys to understand my reasoning.
"Okay, Mom. But you come home and rest afterward. I know you're not a coward. You're one of the strongest wolves I know Mommy," sniffled Greyson.
"Why are you sniffling Greyson?" I softly asked him as I pulled him closer to me.
"Uncle Tim told us you kneeled in front of Elder Graham begging to be punished instead of him punishing daddy's pack. A coward wouldn't have done that. You do so much …" Greyson was trying to say through tears.
"Shh, Greyson. I've got you. It's all right. Mommy's got ya," I continued to say as I held him and rubbed his back soothingly. "You know how much I love you and your brother. I will come home and let you and your brother take care of me like you did last time. Would you like to read me a book and watch a movie or two with me?" I softly asked him while I kissed him on the cheek.
"Yes, I would Mommy. Can we cuddle in the bed with Cassie, Jackie, Brianna, and Joshua too?" Greyson hesitantly asked.
"Absolutely. I wouldn't have it any other way. All my babies in bed with me reading stories and watching movies. I can't wait," I beamed as I thanked my son for cheering me up.
"Yay! Oops, sorry Mom. I'll go tell them we get to spend the afternoon with you. Daddy may Owen and I go with you to the Pack Meeting to help with Mommy?" pleaded Greyson.
"We'll see. I'll let you know in a few minutes. Go and let your brothers and sisters know what the plan is for the afternoon," Davidson instructed Greyson.
"Yes sir," Greyson replied happily as he ran up the stairs to his room.
"The boys worry about you don't they?" Elder Graham inquired.
"Yes, they do especially since the forced separation and the migraines. They like to put their hands on my forehead when I have a headache to wish away the headache. It's adorable," I explained to everyone.
With the game plan in place, we all got in our vehicles to make our way to the training grounds at the Rock Canyon Pack. I'm not really sure what to expect with the Elders from the Council. Is it really going to be that simple-if you want me to be your Luna-go to the left. If you don't want me to be your Luna-go to the right.
Then, those who don't want me as their Luna, are they going to banish them from the pack? Then have them pledge to Blue Mountain? There are a lot of what-ifs. I don't like playing the 'What If' game. There are a lot of variables that could and can go wrong.
