The rest of the man started to drag the unconcious Omer out of the office. Everyone was silent, seeing Ricardo skillfully placing the old heavy metallic sword in its place. The other one that Omer dropped was adjusted by the other bodyguards.
\-“Omer! Leave me brother, don’t touch him. You crazy bitch. This is all your fault. I am going to kill you with my bare hands!” Kane roared with fury sending deathly promises to her.
Even Layla was trembling like a leaf now when one of the elders pointed in her direction blaming her:
\-“How come this happened to us? Maybe she was sent by the crazy woman who leads them to bring destruction between us.”
\-“And maybe the international wants this too, they might have collaborated behind our back to destroy our cellule. Ricardo, you must not let them win. We must take them all back.”
\-“Now listen all you fool! I forbid we ever drag the foreigners or the southern in our intern decisions.” He spoke coldly, making them feel his anger.
\-“Your actions are what weights my decision.”
\-“Forgive me my lord, but the foreigner’s action is still not explained. How can we sure that she is clean and has no ill intention toward us, unless we test her.” Hakan said.
That structed a nerve.
\-“He is right about this one Ricardo. We need to make sure and keep an eye to her.”
His grandfather was the one to respond now. Ricardo knew that if he denied Catalina’s stay might be in danger, and he could not risk it.
\- “That woman has been the subject of many other women around the country. I wonder if that could be just an incident or perhaps our enemies from outside testing our water. We must be fully one hundred percent.” Another elder added as well.
\-“Then so be it, for the tranquility and the stabilization of our association we will keep an eye on her. Emet!” Hamiz rose to his feet and called his assistant who came quickly to him.
\-“Invite the foreigners at Kane’s wedding! I want to get a closer view of this young girl that is tormenting my people’s mind. I will test her on that day and after that we will take a decision regarding her. Until them I need all of you to behave.”
And all of them that were seated raised at their feet as well.
\-“This is the last time I intervene! We have a leader and he is our king! After this time, I will not interfere anymore and if any of you has any problem with that, then your KING” Hamiz said emphasizing the word. “Will decide as he sees it fit.”
Hamiz turned his head at Ricardo, watching him proudly in his eyes and:
\-“My lion!” and a sense of proud happiness filled Ricardo’s soul even amidst this commotion.
And after that he left the meeting with his bodyguards accompanying him as Mehmet tried to go after his father to explain everything, but Hamiz felt too sorrowful and embarrassed to continue speaking to his son right now, so he left without turning his head back, even the floor sensed his heavy weight.
The others bowed respectfully their heads as Hamiz went outside and did not dare to repeat anything.
Ricardo felt bad for his grandfather, he knew the turmoil of emotions that he was experiencing right now, but he had other pressing matters to go on before going to talk to him.
\-“This meeting is finished now!” he said in a dull voice.
Even if they wanted to say something else, they could not. They were wise enough that any word spoken out of the order will make them pay for the insolence. Their tradition did not allow them to speak after the leader said so.
\-“Ali takes the girl out and sends her somewhere safe. See that doctors also run a check on her.” He instructed Ali.
\-“Of course, sir. Right away!”
He then went out as well to his car and left the residence, not caring about the others anymore.
He knew where he should go first, but first he had to make sure his sister was safe as well.
As soon as his car arrived at the gates of her place, he went upstairs as he asked one of her servants about her whereabouts. Then he wants straight ahead at her desk waiting for her there.
It did not take long for Esma to come immediately there, worried about his arriving.
\-“Ricardo, what happened? Everything ok?” She knew that he had too much work as usually, but still, an unexpected visit smelled trouble.
He then told her everything that happened at the meeting with the other elders. Shocked, she admitted:
\-“I can’t believe Omer went up so far. He really had gone crazy.”
\-“That’s why I need to raise your security twice in the shadows. If I will block all his paths to reach and hurt Catalina then he might turn to you, to reach me.” Ricardo confessed sincerely to his sister.
\-“Of course, you can do that if you feel safe in this way. Judging by Omer and Kane’s action anything can happen.” She took a deep breath before going on:
\-“We need drastic procedures for desperate men like those two lunatics.” Esma admitted.
\-“This is why the council will have their eyes on Catalina for the following days, especially at Kane’s wedding. We need to come up with something that might come as unexpected.”
\-“You can never know what those snakes might plan. But they might as well be scary to act against you if you declare that Catlina will be your woman soon.” Esma’s eyes lit up now suggesting it. “Does Catalina know anything?”
\-“Not yet! This evening meeting was unexpected for me as well. I might need to reconsider my tactics again. First time in his life Omer might have gotten me by surprise if Catalina had not contacted Zuleica.”
At their mention, Esma thought about Tolo, she wanted to ask him more if he got in contact with any other of the Tefn, but she decided against that idea. She had not seen Tolo since the day that they came back to their temple, and now with Omer obsessed with them she was not sure when she would see him again.
\-“Now this is another story I want to hear about it.” She said teasing her brother and he showed her the picture that Catalina had sent to him before the meeting.
Meanwhile a message popped up in his screen from Ali reporting about Layla, she was severely tortured and maltreated. He felt bad for her and knew that his cousin was an animal regarding woman, and he had gone too far and needed to be stopped before he brings more troubles.
Ricardo sends him a text message back, instructing him that after she would be treated under tight security, she was to return safe and sound at her village. And then he went on talking some more with his sister.
