Chapter 128

Chapter 128
Omer rose from his seat and started to come around the table. Since Ricardo was standing at the head of it, he deliberately avoided that and went to the other side where his grandfather sat.

\- “First, what I want to share tonight with you, I want that you take it with your open mind. You know gentleman’s that any harsh feeling or ill intention can aggravate the situation, this is why I need you all to be in top humor.”

\-“Then why are you prolonging it, Omer?” The elder in charge of their economy asked him, he was not friendly to stay and hear gibberish. He was more a man of number, action and real facts.

\-“All in due time.” Kane intervened smirking, defending his brother.

Omer was trying to steal time to read Ricardo’s face, but being the lion he was, he stands firm in his chair waiting for the theater to unfold itself.

\-“We are a big and great family and as a member in this family we all need to be fair and honest with each other. It pains my heart to have gather you all in here to discuss some of the affairs that are being held in shadows, away from our eyes, but what needs to be done…. Needs to be unfolded first.”

\-“Why do I have a feeling you are going to denounce some crime?” It was elder Hakan that asked this time, being unaware what he did this time.

\-“Yes, Hakan!” Omer turned dramatically facing him now.

\-“You were one of the people, that it will pain my heart to share this knowledge I have too and one of the reasons I asked you all earlier to take it easy.”

Hakan raised his eyebrows, not understating his point yet.

With a clap of his fingers to one of his men, Omer signaled them to bring the folders to all of them. While they were sharing it with everyone, Ricardo did not even touch the one they put in front of him. That struck a nerve to Omer, but he was counting the seconds before ruining his perfect image.

They all saw the folders and the most distressed person of them, elder Hakan said:

\-“What is the meaning of this?” his eyes darkening.

\-“That my dear Hakan, it is the prove of my cousin cheating with a foreigner, none other than the most troublesome woman from our most distinguished diplomacy represents, the Spanish embassy.”

\-“Not only he has a secret affair with this woman with a suspicious past, being the daughter of an ex general in Span, she results to be trained in fight and combat, showed her martial arts skills since the first day in this country, protecting our woman, stirring ideas of freedom and revolution and lately she teaches our children how to dance. Does it not look as too much coincidence to you too?”

Even Ali was shocked to hear Omer speaking.

\-“And she is the one that was supposedly attacked from one of the southern on the night we had our gathering to welcome the foreign interns coming in our country, an idea that my cousin Ricardo had and with your support too, we might have attracted spies or intelligent informers to ruin our old system of life. And sometimes later, she suddenly becomes friends with the savages and gets on their side anytime. She seems to appear magically to defend them and any woman who seems to be in difficulty. Strange, isn’t it? If it is not allowed by our leader, then I wonder who such a courage does have to even do this kind of thigs?”

\-“Impossible!” one of the other elders said. –“Ricardo would never decide on something to harm us.”

\-“Can it be because she is hot and beautiful and maybe even our leader was captivated by her? Is it safe for us that this kind of woman lives among us?” Omer pressed further.

Ricardo’s knuckles whited beneath the table. So, this was what he was planning. Finally, the snake took his head out of the sack, he thought.

If not for his calculated cold nature, Ricardo would have punched him right now multiple times. He dared speaking of his woman so ill and disrespectful.

\-“Instead on focusing of his announcement marriage with elder’s Hakan daughter, he fools around, going against the tradition to involve with a foreign woman with a suspicious background, what next, shall he announce her marriage to her?” Omer said smirking while never leaving Ricardo’s eyes.

Hakan could not stand to disrespect anymore.

\-“How could you Ricardo? My precious daughter who is promised to you is waiting day and night even for a word from your side, hoping you will decide for a date and not wanting to disturb you because of the state affairs, and now this is what you have done? Fooling around with foreign girls?” He said standing up now, but Ali was fast to intervene:

\-“Choose your words carefully elder Hakan, you are talking to the leader. Who are you to question him?”

Being trapped from Ali’s intervention, Hakan turned to Hamiz to ask for support, hoping to get better words from him. He sensed that his position might slip from the council if the marriage of his two daughters wouldn’t happen soon, as planned. His dreams were going to ruin, but Hamaz was a man of many words. He always acted as neutral when his nephews were involved.

\-“Sit Hakan, let us hear Ricardo’s side too, before we go to conclusions.”

\-“Conclusions? What conclusion? You have pictures of him kissing that foreign woman…”

\-“Hakan!” Ricardo’s voice echoed from his place, interrupting him speaking any further ill about Catalina. “Sit down!” He ordered and Hakan did so.

A surge of jealousy made Omer furious that his grandfather was not speaking even after he saw the evidence and worst when Hakan was ordered to sit preventing him from throwing some more gasoline at the fire. Looks like he had to do it all by himself.

\-“For this woman we also were accused the supposed night of her attack at the reception, but results that this had all been a farse from your side cousin. I need to ask you why you did all this to us. Only for a woman or has their government offered something in return to profit?”

Now it was Mehmet’s turn to act as the hurting uncle.

\-“Careful now son. Our leader would never take advantage without involving us too. That is the fundamental law and we all know this. Plus, whom you are referring to is your cousin. How can you be sure about it?”

\-“This is the reason I said my heart pains too father, but even though he is my cousin, as our leader he has to answer when we have proven that he is doing something wrong?”

\-“Could it be that you have taken gold or more power without sharing with us?” One of the greedy elders asked him and then another who was not Ricardo’s side:

\-“At least the foreign women are way more fun than ours too.” And that erupted some others laughing as well.
