Chapter 126

Chapter 126
\-“Ricardo…” the name came out as a whisper.
She was shocked to see him standing behind the door and looking at her with his stoic face as usual from the door’s window. For a moment, she forgot everything.
She forgot that they had a fight, she forgot that they were not together anymore. Otherwise, she would have run like crazy to open that damn door that was keeping them apart. She wished that life was not easy.
\-“Miss Catlina? Are you ok? What happened?” One of the little girls asked her, bringing her attention back on them.
“Huh, did you got sick?” another one said as Catalina was trying to calm them down the assistant showed on and said to them:
\- “Ok girls now are the time to go shower and then leave. Thank you all for today.” She saved Catalina just in time as she blushed, not knowing what to say.
Only after all left the studio did Ricardo come in.
\-“You look stunning, dancing, surrounded by all those kids.” He said sincerely to her as if those were words from his heart, in a warm tone.
Catalina wanted to say that he was too. His sky-blue shirt with his rolled-up sleeves and his dissolving dark hair did not help her stay straight in her two feet. It made her attract him like a moth to its light. What wouldn’t she give now to go near in and trace her hands at his muscles, his open shirt at his chest, barely showing his tattoos.
Even with the heat Ricardo had no trace of sweat around him and suddenly she realized that she was not dressed in the appropriate clothing with her dancing skirt, black tight and her black long sleeve top as her hairs were done in a messy bun.
But that did not stop him from getting closer to her.
\-“Don’t get confused, don’t feel frustrated by my presence here now, today.” He said when he was two steps away from her.
\-“I’m not.” She half whispered, suddenly feeling her throat dry.
His penetrating gaze never left her and for a moment they stand like that watching intensely each other. Seeing Catalina there surrounded by so many girls, teaching them how to dance, made him wonder how she would look like when she gave birth to their kids. And the thought only made him want to pine her down right there. But he had to focus, he was there for another reason.
His attention shifted from her fine waist to her plump red lips, making him flash his one-thousand-watt smile.
\-“Gosh you look beautiful with those kids before. You have a nurture nature even in the presence of kids.” He said warmly and it made her blush a little.
\-“Thanks! It’s my job you know?” She raised her eyes up now smiling. It was feeling like they were simply communicating without making this difficult for once.
\-“I am a choreographer and my job is teaching others how to dance and synchronize and ….”
\-“I know that!” He said interrupting her, putting a strand of hair behind her ear. His was now smirking at her suggestion more to his meaning and Catalina blushed even more now.
\-“Stop that!” she said embarrassed while putting a hand to her face, not wanting to dwell in his meaning.
\-“Why are you here today?”
Catalina left his office the previous day with more questions rather than answers. Indeed, as Ricardo said before leaving Ahmed came after some minutes and together, they went back to the embassy, where he said to her on their way back that no harm happened to him.
They just asked him some plain questions and asked if he himself wanted to add something that made them face any risk or danger, but Ahmed was honest and told them that the southern were polite and nice to all of them.
She also could not understand the sudden change in Ricardo’s decision to do so, but when she asked Ali, the only thing he said to her was that he saw her at least twice that day.
Catalina had no idea how impatient Ricardo had been in the last days that he did not see her and this only made him feel worse than anything and he knew that saying this out loud would not help him. Not after he fixed his fake-marriage announcement with Tara.
\-“Imightneedyourhelp.” He admitted and that made her a bit nervous.
\-“What’s wrong?
\-“I need a way to contact Zuleica fast. Omer has kidnapped someone from the south, and we don’t know the identity or the way that he uses that person, if he will use it for any profit at all.” He further explained with a serious expression now.
Gone were all their hot thoughts now.
\-“Oh my God! That guy is crazy.”

\-“This information is being held by anyone near them and Omer, and my other cousin Kane are keeping the person’s identity hidden from anyone and we think this might be a –serious thing.”
\-“This is why I want to contact Zuleica and ask her so I can get the information before it is too late. I need to ask her if she knows anything or can confirm it to me, before it takes me lots of time or before Omer does something wrong.
\-“I need to check, but of course. I will do that.” Catalina said shocked now, wondering what might go on his cousin’s head. The guy smelled trouble everywhere he went.
\-“If this had not been this urgent, I wouldn’t have disturbed you, love.” He said the words coming out of him naturally and for the first time after their time apart Catalina did not feel the need to correct him. Maybe it was because of the matter’s urgency. After all it was a person’s life they were talking about.
\-“Omer called an urgent meeting for this evening for all the important people of Almor, and I know he is planning something big that I must take care of him. So, trust me when I say no harm will come to southern from my side if we get in touch with their leader. It is for the benefits of all our country, to maintain the balance.”
She knew that she could trust him. His eyes were the sincerest when they were together. It made her think of the moments they were together with Ricardo trusting her most of his dark secrets and a part of his world that he shared with none.
\-“Ok, I will contact her immediately and let you know as soon as I hear something from her.” She assured him.
\-“Then I will wait for your message.” He said now coming closer, with his arms around her waist, bringing her closer for him to give him a hug.
\-“Ricardo…” she whispered but he interrupted her:
\-“Shhhh, nothing wrong comes from a hug.” He released her and went to the door next.
Before he left, he turned around and said to her with a wink.
\-“I better go if I need to fix my fake wedding announcement. My woman does not like to share me with others.”
