Chapter 80 Chapter 80:
Irene:

A month later,

It’s funny how time passes when everything is just perfect. After Dante’s death, things have been going on surprisingly fast. My photography passion has skyrocketed. I have an interview with WolfVogue tomorrow in which I’m going to be talking about how my hobby turned into such a big thing. Of course, I have Enrique to thank for all of that. If he hadn’t gotten me that camera, then I wouldn’t have even contemplated photography. Not only did he get me the camera, he believed in me.

To be honest, we all need someone who cares deeply about us.

Also, Gia’s coronation as Luna for Moonclaw pack is next week and she’s also going to have the dream wedding that she deserves, being drunk and getting married does not count as a proper wedding. Of course, Linda, Rowena, Iris, Naya, Chiara and I are going to be the bridesmaids, we have all been so busy with the wedding, from the cake tasting to the picking out of the dresses, to comforting a very stressed out bride-to-be, things has really been hectic.

Yesterday, Tyler told me he is planning to propose to Iris at the wedding and that I should keep it a secret. I am really happy for my twin sister; she deserves all the happiness in the whole world.

With my chin high, I walk into my husband’s office where he’s having a meeting with Hunter and a man I don’t recognize, might be from another pack. I stand in the doorway, admiring the way my husband gets all serious when he’s talking about business.

When he sees me, he clears his throat and coughs. “Well gentlemen, I hope we continue this discussion next week.” He stands up, shaking the hands of Hunter and the man. They both walk out of the room, Hunter smiling at me with twinkling eyes. Rolling my eyes, I walk towards Enrique and he catches me, hands around my waist.

“Goddess, I miss you.” He yanks me closer and my back hits the table. I gasp as he kisses me. Oh feisty.

“I missed you too.” I run my hands through his strands of hair. Enrique and I haven’t spent much time together because of our hefty schedule and it’s exhausting to not have him by my side. I miss his touch and smile. I pull away, breathing heavily. “Are you going to make it for my interview tomorrow?” I ask because Enrique is flying out tonight to London because he has an Alpha meeting.

“I won’t miss it for the whole world. I’ll fly out really early so I can make it in time. Of course I want to see my queen and not on live TV, but in person.”

Did I forget to mention that the interview is going to be streaming live with up to a billion people watching me from all over the world on TV including my parents and Ale? This is the biggest thing that has ever happened to me ever, I have been feeling nervous since, but Enrique has made me feel safe.

“I know you won’t.” I say, smiling.

We kiss the more for a while, the door bursts open and Anna walks in, seeing us, she coughs and Enrique fists his knuckles together.

“What did I tell you all about knocking?” He seems annoyed and I love this part of Enrique, the part of him that is always flustered by every little thing. Goddess, I am so obsessed with this man.

“Sorry to interrupt whatever is going on,” she tries to hide her grin but fails at it, Enrique shoots his sister a very annoyed glare and she rolls her eyes. “When should we be expecting the baby? I call in the dibs for triplets, we can name them like Anna junior, Elva junior and Nixie junior.” Since the past month, Elva, Anna and Nixie have become inseparable, like triplets. They do every single thing together, and today, they leave for the pure blood academy.

I promised them that I was going to drive them to the academy.

“Very funny, Anna.” Enrique dryly says.

“You guys are leaving already?” I ask Anna.

“Well Nixie and Elva are still packing. I think those two are literally taking everything they own, I doubt the car’s going to contain us all.” Anna says. “But I think we’re ready to go, so I’ll give you a few minutes to bid your husband goodbye before we leave,” she sneaks one look at her brother before throwing a wink in my direction and leaving the room.

“Damn it.” Enrique says, “I don’t know what I’m going to do with that girl.” There’s a small smile playing on his lips, even though she always annoys him, he still loves her so fucking much.

“Oh well, I guess there’s nothing we can do.” I stare at my husband with a smile. “I have to drive them to the academy. Will you be gone by the time I’m back?” The drive to the academy is four hours and Enrique might have flown out by then.

“Maybe,” he says, looking around his office. “I will text you if I do.” Parting with Enrique feels overwhelming, even though we’re going to be apart for just a few hours, I know. We’re so terribly obsessed with each other.

I come out of Enrique’s office to see Anna in the hallway, staring at a portrait. I approach her gently, “Are you scared?”

“Yes,” she replies truthfully. “It feels like this whole new transition from everything I’ve known. What if they don’t even like me? What if I don’t make friends?” She turns to me, her voice scared. Going to the pure blood academy was scary for me too, but I had Iris by my side and she was always ready to tell anyone who messed with me to fuck off.

“It’s a lot to take in. I know that. Three years in the academy is quite a lot, but you have worked hard for this. You all passed the entrance exam, this is what you deserve and besides, you have Elva and Nixie, I’m pretty sure those two are going to be looking out for you. What are friends for, if not to run over any idiot who pisses you off?”

That actually makes her laugh and I am at least grateful for that.

I swing an arm around my sister-in-law's shoulder. “Now, why don’t we go get the rest?”

“Yeah, that sounds like a plan.” She grins.

Elva:

Hell, I am scared.

I am literally panicking about going to school. Goddess, I don’t want to have a panic attack before I get to the school. I have been stressing about everything since my suitcase is mostly filled with my books and few of the stuff that I actually need. Iris said I always get too obsessed about things and I fear that she’s right.

Last night, I stayed awake, flipping through my phone about the pure blood academy, scrolling through articles of alumni’s reviews, Goodness, I’m pathetic. I sit on the bed, wiping my face when I hear a gentle knock and Irene lets herself in quite easily.

Her eyes take in my bedroom, well at my scattered suitcase and books. “Oh boy.” She mutters under her breath, moving towards me. “You do know we leave in a few minutes.”

“I know that.” I groan in frustration, looking everywhere. “I am freaking out. What should I pack? What shouldn’t I pack? It’s a whole debacle!” I exclaim, Irene doesn’t seem to get me because she looks at me in question.

“Well, you can pack your books and everything you need. And, if you still feel like you need something while you’re at the academy, you can always ring me up and I will be sure to get it arranged for you.” Irene knows about my obsessive love for books and she supports me for it. Iris and Irene get me stacks of books for my birthday every year.

I take a deep breath. “What if everywhere is different from how it is here? What if I can’t survive there, with the countless faces and new rules.” I guess it’s the fear that has been gnawing on me for so long. I have never quite been adapted to change, so going to the academy feels like something so big for me.

“I am sure it’s not. Besides, you flourish everywhere, why wouldn’t you be there?” Irene smiles. “You’re smart, funny and beautiful and trust me, Elva Costa. You are going to survive this.” I stand up from the bed and embrace Irene, she lets me fall into her arms.

“Ready now?” She whispers, letting me go. “Anna and Nixie will get annoyed if you don’t show up anytime soon.”

“Give me a few minutes.” My smile is happy, Irene lets herself out and I get to packing, starting with a whole suitcase filled with my books, I can’t wait to explore the library there, I hope it is vast like the one here, then another suitcase filled with everything I’m going to need, from my clothes- oversized sweaters, fitted jeans, graphic tees, sneakers, boots, jackets, coats, dresses and let’s not forget the academy uniform. It’s a midnight blue button up shirt with a black blazer and tailored pants.

After I am done packing, I wheel my suitcases and my duffel bags out of my room, going to meet them outside the pack-house. Madam Cici and a few of the Omegas are standing, ready to bid us farewell.

“How many things are you going to pack, young lady?” Madam Cici tells Nixie who just smirks and shrugs in return. “You are going to the academy, not a fashion show, for goddess’ sake.”

The cool wind blows on my face as I stare at the pack-house. Guess I am going to be back here after three years, or well I suppose, when we have holidays.

“Are you guys ready?” Irene asks as the Omegas help load our suitcases and bags into the car.

“I was born ready.” Nixie flips her hair and gets into the car. Anna and I exchange looks before getting into the car. Irene roars the engine into life and begins driving out of the pack-house.

“Since we’re in for a long ride, ladies. Why don’t we blast some music?” Irene says, turning up the music in the car. Pop blares from every corner of the car and Nixie is singing along to it, jerking her hands and legs as she does so. Anna is already asleep, snoring softly. Goodness, these girls.

I sit curled up to the window, just staring out the glass window. The car bumps slightly and I press my forehead to the window, watching as everything blurs. An hour later, we’re still on the road and Anna is awake now. She and Nixie are looking at the academy map. I didn’t bother because I had memorized and studied everything last night, like I said, obsessive.

Hours later, when the sun is starting to set and everywhere is starting to get dark, we reach the academy. The huge automatic iron gates slide open as our car drives into the school. Our mouths are all agape, damn it. This doesn’t look like a school; it looks like a freaking castle ripped right out of a dark fairy tale.

There are these huge flags everywhere, black and red with this wolf logo that looks like it can rip you apart if it comes alive. The entrance is filled with expensive cars, students like us trooping in and out.

“Wow.” I say, getting out of the car slowly, Nixie and Anna follow behind me, wheeling their luggages.

Irene stares at us from the window. “Are you sure you girls are good to go?” She asks as we remove our belongings from the car. We all nod. “Remember, if you need anything. Don’t hesitate to call me or Enrique, okay? I love you girls.” She says, waving her hand.

We watch as Irene drives out of the school. I stare at the huge school, my heart breathing heavily, I can’t decipher if it’s from panic or excitement. “Girls, I think we are going to love it here.”

“I think we are,” they both say in unison, grinning from ear to ear.
