Chapter Thirty Seven

Chapter Thirty Seven
Chapter Thirty seven

Anna's POV:

I always thought dying would be simple, but it turns out dying actually hurts like a bitch even if you choose to die.
I landed on the water with a loud thud. The water was cold and welcomed her. I was not scared to die. Not now, not after watching what happened to her sisters and their home.
I would be okay with dying. I closed my eyes and let darkness take me, until the light hit me and I realized I couldn't breathe.
The water had pushed me to shore, gasping and pain coming from all around my body, I was sure I was bleeding and the sun was everywhere and my body felt so weak. The fall had done a serious number on me and I felt like it took all of my strength to drag my body from the river that was raging behind me to the shore line. I could swear I could hear whistling as I coughed and gagged up river water trying to breathe. Someone was whistling like I wasn't dying.
I twisted to lay flat on my back and finally look up at the sky. I had  wrenched the last of the river water up. A long, tall shadow blocked my view of the semi cloudy sky line and that shadow was whistling again and there was water spraying from them like it was game. What the fuck was happening? I groaned in response. Squinting my eyes to look up at them. Everything hurt my whole body.
"What?” “Were am I? " I asked the shadow. I kept trying to get a better look at him as pain crept over taking my body.
The shadow leaned down over me after zipping up his pants. I could see his eyes now a bright blue looking down at mine, a dark chocolate.
"Hello there, finally wake up little one? Don't mind my pee, it's been hours and I really had to go."
When my vision cleared I could see the man that stood so close to me out noses touched, two things I noticed immediately he was fucking beautiful purhaps the most beautiful man I had ever seen. He has silver hair that was cut short into a spiky sloppy mess at the top and intricate tattoos all around his neck. They circled up his neck and stopped at the left side of his face. He had high serious cheek bones and a long nose. He looked perfect. I only got a look at his face but damn that's all I needed to bring my heart rate back up. Number two he was drunk. His breath smelled so strongly of mead I almost started to vomit.
Then in a moment of confusion and sickness from the smell of his breath- I  vomited right in his face the remainder of the river water.
“Ahhhh” I heard him scream as he fell back onto his butt.
“Little one, I think you need a healer.”
Sitting up I glared at him and pointed. “I think you need a tooth brush. You smell disgusting I was recovering fine until your stench came too close to my face.”
The beautiful man whose name I did not know yet turned a little pink in the face. He looked around and pointed at himself.
“Are you talking about me?”
I rolled my eyes while getting to my feet finally. Pointing at him, “Do you see any other gorgeous men out here?”
His face lit up like fire work. Uh oh. Alert. Danger. I want to lick that face.
“Little one, you think I'm gorgeous? I'm flattered. I usually don't mate with your kind but you know there is a little tree over there-”
I held up a hand. “Absolutely not. That is not what I meant. Also, stop calling me little one. I'm not a child.”
He looked at me puzzled. “But little one you are little.” He stood up and I realized what he meant. He must have been seven feet tall. I was five foot seven inches on a good day. He looked like a giant.
Great.
Determined I tried to walk and realized my legs quickly were not gonna take me anywhere. Giant man reached for me. I pulled away.
He fucking laughed.
“I won't hurt you little one. I want to help. The time for hurting would have been when I first found you. I could have chopped you up and eaten you. I'm so hungry.”
What. The. Fuck. This gorgeous guy is nuts. Great. I need to escape. Draco is surely on his way to find me or his men. I looked around for any sign at all for my sister’s. They could have been in the woods. But the river had taken me too far from our home. I saw no trace of the other witches. I might be the only one left.
Just as I was wallowing in my moment of sadness I felt two big hands reach and grab my waist. “Hey! Put me down.”
Giant man had thrown me over his shoulder and we were walking towards the woods. “I can't do that little one. You're a witch and I could fetch a good price for someone like you.” He smacked my ass and placed me on the back of his motorcycle. Tying both my hands, he frowned deeply at me and made a sighing noise walking towards a bag he left on the ground..
I tried casting a spell but found I was too weak, too weak from what? That's when I looked down and saw the deep gash on my left side, blood slowly pouring out. Maybe I'll die after all.
Gorgeous Giant man looked down at me seriously, “I can't have you dying on me before I can get some money for you. This will sting. Here.”
“ You are not selling me you weirdo. Don't think about touching me.” I spat back at him.
Too late he was already touching me  and that's when the whispers started, the spirits of the woods calling me, “Anna” and then the visions came. As he put a salve on my wounds, my eyes glazed over and the visions started.
I saw us fighting, bickering at a bar, I saw him being stabbed, I saw him whispering in my ear. I saw myself slap him and kiss him. The visions morphed into watching him on a battlefield watching him defend me and my sisters. Stabbing and slicing Dracos men dark Fae bodies, blood and fire everywhere.
This was no ordinary man, this man was a Fae, a warrior, this man was who we needed. The goddess had dropped him in my lap. This annoying drunk giant was the one person who could help us defend my people.
I looked up at him and smiled, “You are amazing “ giddy that I found him.
He laughed. Laughed at me. “Now who is the one who is drunk little one?”
He lifted me in front of him on the motorcycle encircling behind me tightly as my arms were tied together and I couldn't hold on. I passed out as the motorcycle roared to life.
