The Noir Inferno

The Noir Inferno
The club pulsed under the music, strobe lights cutting through the crowd in waves of neon.
The air reeked of perfume, liquor, and raw desire.

I danced.

My hips followed the beat, my arms raised, my hair whipping around my face.
I felt every eye on me. Hungry. Worshipping. Wanting.

I didn’t see their faces. I didn’t want to.

I turned in the middle of the floor, my body rolling with the bass.
The black satin dress clung to me, shamelessly short, molding to every move.

And then I saw him.

Alessandro.

He had just walked in, Matteo behind him. His gaze swept the club like a storm until it landed on me.

Our eyes collided.
His face froze.
His jaw clenched.
His eyes burned.

I smiled—a cold, sovereign smile.

Then I spun away, brushing past his stare, and headed for the bar where Lorenzo waited, one hand on his glass.

He looked at me, sighed.
“He’s here, isn’t he?”

I smirked, wicked at the corners of my lips.
“He’s here.”

I snapped my fingers at the bartender.
“Six shots of tequila. Now.”

Lorenzo blinked, stunned.
“Hope—”

I cut him off with a look.

The bartender lined up six shots, the liquid glinting violet under the club lights.

I glanced over my shoulder.
Alessandro stood across the room, fists clenched, eyes locked on me like a loaded gun.

I lifted the first shot to him.
One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six.

Downed them all. No flinch. No break. Never looking away.

The burn scorched my throat, ignited my stomach—but I betrayed nothing.

When the last glass hit the bar, I wiped my lip with my thumb, slow, sensual. Still staring at him.

Then I turned. Walked back to the dance floor.

I could feel his gaze drilling into me, burning, summoning.

I ignored it.

I danced. In the center, where the lights struck hardest. Surrounded by men already closing in—hands reaching, eyes gleaming.

They tried to touch me, buy me a drink, steal a smile, steal a night.

I laughed, cold, shoving them away with a sway of my hips.

And with every move, every glance over my shoulder, every flutter of my lashes, I told him one thing only:

You’re going to pay for this.

The music pounded against my skin, the bass hammering in my chest.

I danced among the crowd, men pressing too close, their hands grazing my waist, my hips, trying to latch on.

I laughed again, sharp, tossing them off like insects.

Then I felt it.

Not a touch. Not a word.

The air shifted.
The floor vibrated differently.

A hand clamped around my wrist, brutal, ripping me from the dance, dragging me back.

I slammed into a hard chest, his scent suffocating me, intoxicating me despite myself.

I looked up. Met his eyes.

Black. Storming. Burning.

His jaw tight, a vein pulsing at his temple.

He bent, his mouth grazing my ear.
“That’s enough.”

His voice was a growl. An order.

I smiled, reckless, my lips a breath from his.
“Fuck off, Alessandro.”

His grip on my wrist tightened—hard enough to remind me who he was, hard enough to remind me who I was with him.

“You think I’m letting you put on a show like this?”

I arched a brow, lips brushing his cheek.
“You think you can stop me?”

His eyes darkened further, possession burning in their depths.
“Don’t play with me, Hope.”

I leaned closer, my nose grazing his, my mouth almost touching his.
“Or what?”

His fingers slid from my wrist to my nape, threading into my hair, tilting my head back under his control.

“Or I remind you who you are.”

My breath hitched.

That look in his eyes—
The one that said nothing, no one, could rip me from him. Not even me.

He pulled me closer, our bodies pressed, our breaths tangled.
“You wanted to provoke me, piccola? You did. Now you’re leaving.”

I laughed low, heat flashing in my eyes.
“And if I don’t want to?”

His thumb stroked my jaw, slow, clashing with his iron grip on my nape.
“Oh, you’ll want to.”

The music throbbed. Lights flashed. Bodies writhed around us.

But there was only him. Only us.

He leaned in, lips grazing my ear.
“Walk, Hope.”

His voice shivered through me. Damn him.

He eased back, pressure firm at my neck, forcing me to move.

I resisted for a beat, our eyes locked in war.

Then I stepped.
And another.

He didn’t let go. He cut through the crowd with me, shielding me from reaching hands, dragging me out.

His hold burned—possessive, furious, absolute.

And I knew.

Tonight wasn’t over.

The club door slammed shut behind us, choking off the bass.

Night air hit my face—warm, heavy with asphalt and salt. Neon flickered red, blue, violet in the dark.

But I couldn’t breathe.

Alessandro shoved me into a side alley, his hand still locked at my nape.

“Let me go.”

My voice cracked like a whip.

He slammed me against the wall, forearm pinning my chest. Not hurting me—but caging me.

His face inches from mine, his eyes burning holes through me.
“You fucking kidding me, Hope?”

I lifted my chin, breath sharp, gaze glacial.
“Get out of my way.”

His other hand hit the wall beside my head, veins bulging, fingers trembling with rage.

“You slammed six shots, danced like you’re single, surrounded by men with their hands all over you—”
His voice cracked raw.
“And you think I’ll just watch?”

I smiled. Cold. Fearless.
“Yes.”

His stare faltered. Hardened again.
“No. Not with me.”

I tried to push him off. He pressed harder, his hips locking me, his scent drowning me.

“You don’t control me, Alessandro.”

My breath seared his lips.
“You really think that?” he rasped.

His eyes raked down to my mouth, back up to mine.
He devoured me with just a look.

His hand tangled deeper in my hair, tugging my face up into his.
“You drive me insane.”

His forehead pressed to mine.
“I can’t stand seeing you like this.”

I let out a shaky laugh.
“You’re protecting Sofia!”

He inhaled sharply, his jaw locking.
“No. Never.”

I shoved his chest, barely moving him.
“Get out of my way, Alessandro.”

He caught my hand, slammed it against the wall, our fingers laced by force. His eyes speared into mine.
“Say it again.”

I glared, heart racing, legs shaking despite myself.
“Get out—”

He leaned closer, our noses brushing, lips grazing mine.
“Lie again, Hope.”

His breath scorched my mouth, pulling shivers out of me.

He pressed tighter, his body caging mine, his hips pinning me, every line of him branding into me.
“Tell me you don’t want me.”

I clenched my teeth, tried to turn away.

His hand gripped my jaw, forcing my eyes back into his.
“Say it.”

I said nothing.

He smiled dark. Victorious.
“There it is.”

His lips brushed my cheek. My ear. Not a kiss—just fire left behind.
“We’re going home.”

He eased back, grip loosening—but his hand stayed, iron on my nape.

I didn’t move. Just stared, breath ragged.

Then slowly, I stepped.
And another.

He stayed behind me, his palm sliding down to my lower back, steering me toward the car.

I knew what was waiting at the villa.

And I knew tonight—
everything was going to explode.
