Chapter 48 He's cruel!
After receiving a slap from Danieru, Camilla ran through the pouring rain. She searched for a very hidden place to protect herself from him. She was afraid that if she saw him again, he would do something even crazier and more dangerous.
Her face was flushed, tears flowing, mixing with the rain that drenched her body. Pain stabbed her repeatedly, disappointment squeezed her heart, and it was so painful.
Camilla stopped, surveying her surroundings, but found no suitable place to hide. She ran again, and finally arrived at a very quiet place.
“Camilla…”
The voice sounded so loud, blending with the howling wind and the distinctly loud sound of the rain.
No... she would not see him again. She was afraid of him, and she would try to escape his harsh treatment.
Camilla looked around wildly, until she stopped at one object and quickly walked towards it.
The large trash can, nearly overflowing, smelled so unpleasant that Camilla almost vomited when she smelled it.
“Camilla…”
The voice rang out again, and Camilla hurriedly opened the lid. She quickly dove inside, holding her breath, and trying to hold back the vomit.
There was no other choice; this was the only safe place to hide. Even though it was incredibly unsophisticated, dirty, and potentially sickening, Camilla didn't care. She held her composure, refusing to give up so easily.
Camilla's body trembled, the cold piercing to her bones, and fear haunted her. She closed her eyes, desperately hoping Danieru wouldn't find her.
“Camilla!”
Deg ...
The man's voice sounded so close, making Camilla's heart race even faster. She tried not to whimper, even to scream from the ticklish sensation of something crawling on her delicate skin.
A few moments later, Camilla could no longer hear the man's voice, but she still refused to leave. The woman opened her eyes, and at that moment, clear liquid flowed freely from them.
'He's cruel!'
Camilla cursed under her breath, memories of the past when someone hurt you resurfaced. And all of that fueled the hatred in Camilla's heart.
'He's just like that woman.'
Camilla hit her chest, the reality of her life slowly tightening the chains that bound her heart.
Tok ...
Tok ...
Tok ...
The knocking sound was very faint. Camilla, who was inside the trash can, lowered her head. Don't... don't let Danieru open the lid. If that happened, everything would be in vain.
Tok ...
Tok ...
Tok ...
The knocking echoed again, making Camilla even more panicked and frightened.
“Camilla Alistair.”
Camilla could hear the voice so clearly, she bit her lip and held back her tears. She was even more afraid; now it wasn't Danieru calling her.
“If you don't come out, I'll make you regret it for the rest of your life.”
The voice then faded away, but Camilla was certain the person was still out there.
“Do you want to cancel the agreement?”
The voice asked in a slightly annoyed tone. She didn't know what expression he had on his face, but Camilla was certain it was very bad.
For a moment... Camilla racked her brain, thinking hard. Agreement? Since when had she made an agreement with someone?
Camilla, already bewildered, became angry; she didn't know what business this person had with her.
“I am Gliese Cancri Snake.”
Hearing that name brought Camilla back to the moments before Danieru found her.
“You don't want to take responsibility for the bet?” Cancri asked again.
Camilla immediately stood up, opened the lid of the trash can, and saw Cancri waiting outside. No one else was with him, and Cancri was also carrying a red umbrella, but it wasn't a normal umbrella.
As far as Camilla knew, it was a familiar umbrella to people in Asia. Yes... a traditional umbrella that, she knew, also originated in Japan, China, and several other regions. That was all Camilla could remember at the moment, and she couldn't think straight.
"Get out of that disgusting place," Cancri said.
"Why are you looking for me?" Camilla asked.
"Me?" Cancri smiled, then continued, "I came to claim my prize. You lose, and you must become my slave."
Hearing this made Camilla feel better off dead. She had just freed herself from a man who had hurt her, and now she was entangled again with the man who had won a bet with her just moments ago.
"If you don't get out, I'll make you suffer for the rest of your life."
Camilla immediately climbed out of the trash can; there was no point in resisting. The man had power, and he didn't want anything bad to happen in the future.
Camilla knew Cancri wasn't joking. The man was so mysterious, and she had to be careful. Camilla was grateful she knew a little about the Golden Snake, and she wouldn't cause any harm she would regret.
"Follow me, keep a distance of ten meters."
Camilla didn't answer; let alone Cancri, she felt utterly disgusted by her current situation. She watched Cancri quickly walk away, then followed him, and there was no further conversation between them.
...
After a long walk, Camilla and Cancri finally entered one of the VVIP rooms at City of Dreams. The place was comfortable, spacious, and of course, immaculately clean.
Camilla, still standing at the door, looked around. There was a bar in the corner, stocked with a variety of world-class, and undoubtedly very expensive, drinks.
The room was more like a luxury apartment; everything was available, making anyone feel at home. The interior was elegant and calming, a blend of traditional Chinese and Victorian European styles.
"Do you like this place?" Cancri asked.
The woman quickly ended her observation and saw Cancri sitting calmly on the white sofa. He had his right leg in his lap, and his gaze was focused on her.
"You should clean yourself up first," Cancri said again.
Camilla, hearing this, realized her disheveled state again and felt embarrassed.
"Did you suddenly become mute after being physically abused?" Cancri asked.
"I'm not mute," Camilla replied with an irritated expression.
"Then... why aren't you answering my question?" Cancri grinned, then stood up and stroked an albino snake that had emerged from a strand of her long hair.
Camilla saw this, feeling a little uncomfortable. She hated snakes; they were so frightening and terrifying to her.
Cancri, not wanting to interact with Camilla for too long, immediately headed for the bar. But unfortunately for Camilla, when she glanced at Cancri, she clearly saw dozens of small albino snakes emerging from his hair.
The woman swallowed hard, not expecting the man's long, beautiful hair to hide so many small albino snakes.
"Do you want me to bathe you?" Cancri asked. The man was now sitting very comfortably, a smile on his face completely unreadable.
Camilla widened her eyes and looked at Cancri, who was now smiling. "No... I can do it myself."
"Take a quick shower, I can't wait to play with you."
Camilla immediately headed for the bathroom. The woman was irritated and quickly opened the door roughly.
Bang...
The sound echoed quite loudly, even bouncing around the room. Camilla immediately entered, slightly startled by the equally elegant appearance of the bathroom. The place had completely made her forget to close the door.
"Do you want me to come in and watch you shower?"
Camilla, hearing the voice, immediately turned around and met Cancri's gaze again, and at that moment, she was captivated by the charm of his golden eyes.
Deg ...
Camilla's heart was pounding, she had to quickly run away from Cancri and calm her feelings.
Brak ...
Camilla slammed the door shut again, and the sound of it slamming loudly echoed. Camilla quickly locked the door and leaned against it. She slumped down, sitting on the floor and taking deep breaths.
"Damn!" Camilla said. Her head was spinning; she really didn't know how she was going to escape Cancri.
Tok ...
Tok ...
Tok ...
Camilla, hearing the knocking sound, immediately came to her senses. She really wanted to do something brutal right now. Cancri... that man had succeeded in making her look utterly unsophisticated today.
"Hurry up and shower, or I'll come in and wash you."
Upon hearing that voice, Camilla rushed to clean herself. She couldn't let Cancri touch her; she had to keep him occupied and oblivious to his own desires.
