Few problems though.. The reason why Calliope needed the book was because there was supposed to be a spell written in that spell book, telling her exactly how to be able to untie a curse or a strong spell without having to do it directly on the subject. And in our case the subject was the necklace. We didn't have it.. Nor we had the time to search for it again. So, she had the idea to try and do the spell without actually doing it on the necklace, but by somewhat mentally tracking it and doing her voo doo things from at home.. I didn't understand her witch craft but I did trust her. Second problem was, I got a call from Dimitri saying that Amelia left to her mother's house not only to see Annabelle, but to try and get something out of her mother, which was not a really bad idea since Lana told us she didn't really got her father to talk. So Jessica was the next choice.. Once we reached Moondale, I drove to the street Calliope claimed her friend lived on and stopped in front of the old brick building.. The whole car seemed swallowed in the darkness since not all the street lights worked, and on top of that, the weather was really not on our side.. Starting from a few drops of rain, by the time we found the building, the drops only fastened to the point where it was seconds of way of the rain pouring down and the for it to flame into an even bigger storm. The headlights were the only thing giving me somewhat proportion to where we were. Moondale was a town you didn't want to feel proud to call yours. "This is it.." Calliope looked outside the window, her voice muted from the rain banging against the roof of the car.. For some reason, instead of paying at least a little attention to where I was dropping her off, I kept glancing at the mirror, checking up on Lana.. And she.. It was almost humorous how little interest she showed. She was looking outside the window, leaning on the backseat, and staring somewhere in the dark streets outside.. I glanced back at Calliope. "You sure you don't want us to wait up for you?" The second I asked, she gave me the 'are-you-serious-look' as she rose her brows slightly.. "Christian, I told you that this might take a day or two.. Alissa is my friend, but she has no clue why I'm visiting, and I can't just take the book from her. It's one of the oldest grimoires that exist till this day.. I think it will still take her a bit convincing, but I know how to make her snap." She explained, making me nod my head in approval. Calliope was easily the only one I trusted that much.. I wasn't protective over her because she had proved me more than once that she could protect herself more than anyone else could.. I saw Lana lean towards the middle of the front seats, and glance at Calliope. "So, if you get the book-, say in two days, and you come back alive and everything.. You'll be able to do the spell?" I looked on the side and closed my eyes for a second.. Dear Lord, her simple voice caused the control to slip from me more and more. My self-consciousness screamed for me not to care that anyone else was near us.. To just turn around and kiss her senseless. I heard Calliope approve with a simple 'yes'.. "And if everything goes right, and you do the spell the correct way, then the necklace will be destroyed, Adam will be dead, and everything goes back to normal?" Again, Calliope approved. "Great, then I'll be able to cross one problem off my list." She leaned back on the seat and crossed her arms. Ah. Alexander. Of course.. He didn't have to be her problem though. I could easily kill him.. I mean, that night it was just snapping his neck.. He was a werewolf, of course his bones probably healed in a few hours and he woke up.. But next time, I just knew that I would have a little more time on my hands, and I would rip that dark heart of his within seconds.. Lana read him right. The guy had many intentions, but none of them were pure. And I wasn't letting anything touch the innocence that Lana held. She was just off limits for him. And everyone else. Calliope smiled. "We'll figure that out too, don't worry.. There are plenty of spells in the grimoires, trust me." With a wink she said her byes and within only a few seconds, she left the car, disappearing behind the entrance of the old building, trying to get inside as dry as possible.. I didn't see the point though, the rain was already pouring. As I started the car again, I glanced at Lana, and only saw a pair of wild eyes looking back at mine in the little mirror, darkened by the blackness of the night, yet the unsatisfaction still clear.. I thought we were over it. The last thing we did was kiss, and now she looked at me like she was angry for some reason. "What?" I heard myself ask as I started driving, but she only looked away from the mirror. "You shouldn't have done that." I frowned. The three of us all agreed on this. "That book's our only shot, Lana. And Calliope can handle herself. I trust her." "Not that." She almost interrupted me by that slight puff of annoyance. I did not like her attitude at all that night. "You snapped Alexander's neck, Christian."
