"God.." I puffed, leaning back against the chair. "What? Whose is that?" Christian wanted answers immediately, but I wasn't even that sure either.. I learned these stuff long ago.. I could be wrong.. But there was no other explanation. It was familiar and I knew what it meant.. The excuses I was trying to make up in my head were just a plain way of not admitting to myself.. Of not wanting to except this damn messed up truth. I cleared my throat slightly, glancing at the pendant once more. "It's, um- It's a logo. A family logo." I leaned forward again, handing him the pendant. "See the V in the inside?" He frowned and flipped it around before nodding his head. "It's a symbol. I believe it stands for Vesnetsov." He glanced at me before looking back at the necklace. Silence fell over for a few seconds.. "You think," He started off quietly, before frowning again. "You think that this belongs to a Vesnetsov?" I looked back at him, and a part of me didn't want to confirm it, but yes that's exactly what I was thinking.. "I've learned every single pack's family symbol. I'm positive that's," Something cut in my throat.. I could feel the anger rising inside me. I ran my hands through my hair as I stood up. "That's it." I managed to finish my sentence as I gulped the things I wanted to scream about.. My God, what were they up to.. Were those the people that my father was ready to give up all of us for? "Only the Vesnetsov family members wear it as a necklace.. The rest of the pack has the logo in different shapes as a symbol of what family they belong to.. The pack their with.. They have it as tattoos, or,-or, bracelets, some even make scars like that,-" I was starting to walk a few steps towards one side of the room, turn, then back. "I just know that,- that's the one, that belongs to someone from the Vesnetsov pack." He listened to me till the end, till I took in that last breath before he stood up and walked towards me. I was starting to panic. If the Vesnetsovs knew where I was.. It meant that my father knew as well.. It meant that they had something planned.. And the worst part was, it all added up. My father had the necklace before, we found it, and so what if he teamed up with the Vesnetsovs to get it back.. Or did he already give up everything to them including the necklace? What if my father wasn't the one that buried the necklace there? What if he had already given it up by the time we found it? What if we didn't take it from him, but from the Vesnetsovs..? From Alexander.. "Hey, hey Lana," His voice echoed in my head, yet it was so muted.. He just walked towards me, reached for my hands that were pressed against my hairline as I was about to run them through it again.. He just pulled them aside. "So what if it was the Vesnetsovs.. We can still kill all of them whenever we please.." He was partly right, partly trying to calm me down.. Partly his dark self.. But sarcasm was the last thing I needed at that point.. "Christian, this is not a joke.. This,- God, what if we took the necklace from them and not my father?" He just took another step closer, still keeping a good hold of my wrists as he held them between our chests. All I saw was a slight smirk grow on his lips. "Well, then they took it back," He seemed just awfully calmed after tonight.. I mean, they took the necklace that he needed to kill his biggest enemy with.. With that they stopped the spell.. And someone was thoughtfully playing sick mind games with me and Amelia.. It was everything but good.. The night was a disaster. An actual chaos. "And whoever it was that lost that pendant saw me. Which means that my father could know where I am by now.." My voice came out breathlessly as I tried releasing myself from his hands, but he kept me still and just moved a bit closer. He looked me in the eyes and held his gaze that would usually make me glued to my spot, but I couldn't keep my eyes on his when my mind was all over the place. He just seemed to search my face as he closed the space between our bodies, only my wrists that he was holding parting our chests from touching. "Lana, you're with me now, not against me. As long as you are, I give you my word," He spoke slowly, pronouncing each word perfectly and taking my full attention. With just a small lean, his face was right there in front of mine.. Only enough space for me to be able to form out his features. "I give you my word that no one will find you," He seemed to say that so seriously, almost like he was making sure to convince me. He stopped for a second again and just searched my eyes before he focused on my lips. "Trust me, princess, I'm good at this.. And if they do find you, we'll just say that I kidnapped you because I wanted you for myself," I couldn't help but slightly pull back and roll my eyes at him. "Christian," I mumbled meaningfully. This was really not a joke to me. A slight dry laugh escaped his throat as he looked at me again. "Okay, they're not going to find you, I was just joking," He slightly released the grip from my wrists before letting go, but for some reason I just stood still, somewhat lightly pressing my hands against his chest. And I'm definitely sure that it wasn't because I wanted to push him away. Maybe pull him closer.. "We can still say that though," He reached his hand towards my face, the light from the candles that were very dimly lighting the room illuminated his face perfectly, just making me lost in those dark eyes.. And with just a slight brush of his fingers against my cheek in a way of putting a stand of my hair away, he had me melting underneath his touch. I almost closed my eyes.. "I did get you for myself,"
