"He knows everything about Amelia, apparently even before she knew.." I took a step back and looked on the side, remembering everything that happened two years ago.. Till the very last minute, he had the same intentions with Amelia. "He's been obsessing over her for years." Again, I was thinking out loud, almost roaring in anger with the realizations that hit. "I didn't know.." I heard her breathe out. "So now that he's aware Amelia is stronger with her powers and can oppose to him.. He can't mind-control her, can he?" I couldn't get myself to speak because I knew I would started yelling and cussing from the information we were figuring out. I just nodded my head. "So I am the next option.." She rose her hands in defeat slightly, in anger and frustration, walking backwards and then rounding the counter. I stood still and observed her, trying to come up with some solution because I couldn't fuckįng understand how we didn't figure this out sooner. She leaned her hands on the counter and stared on the side for a few seconds, both of us thinking in silence. "I have to tell my father." It took me a beat or two to register her words and even when I did, my brain refused to process them. "What? Lana-" "He'll know what to do, trust me. I'm pretty sure that he has heard of Adam and if he finds out that he's after me, he'll use all his forces against Adam. He'll ruin him." In that moment all I could think was, she lost her damn mind. She cannot involve more people into this. Especially those she loved because Adam meant nothing but danger and I was already trying to figure out ways to protect her. I couldn't have her family on my back too. Not just because they were my enemies, but because I knew it would ruin her if something happened to them. "No, Lana, your father will have no clue what he's up against. None of us do yet." I spoke louder, trying to make myself clear, but she was determined that she figured a solution. I understood that she thought of her father as some hero, but if she thought he could end Adam by himself, she was badly mistaken. I watched her walk back towards me. "If there's something my father cares about, it's family. He- he would never allow anything to happen to me, Christian. And besides, we can use that as a way of finding a similar interest between you two. I'll tell him that you want to end Adam as well.." She was starting to make sense and her solution seemed well thought-through but I still wanted to be sure she knew what she was suggesting here.. "Lana, it's not as simple as that.. I've known your father from before. It's not a joke when I say that we're enemies. Him and my father-" "That wouldn't matter if you two are against one person." She stopped in front of me and looked up at me with those wide azure eyes like she was trying to use my weakness I had for her. "No matter how bizarre his decisions sometimes become, he'll always want to protect me." Her voice trailed.. She said he wanted to protect her, and she spoke like she only cared about her own protection, but I knew how selfless she was. She wanted her father involved because she wanted her family to be aware of the danger their bloodline was obviously in. She very much knew that Adam was after her for a while, but just in that moment she started considering getting her father involved because she found out that the necklace was made with Morpher blood. Amelia's blood. And that automatically had her whole family in danger. She wanted them to be aware. She wanted to protect them, not herself. And I understood that without her having to say so. "I want to protect you too.." I spoke as quietly as for only her to hear because I was talking mostly to myself.. Something in those eyes softened, no matter the flames behind them. She took a step closer, running her hands up my shoulders and around my neck.. She searched my face in a way that had me already weak, already lost in her eyes, in every emotion that flashed behind them. I would do anything for her, I thought. She ran her fingers through my hair and leaned closer while getting on her tiptoes, and I couldn't help but pull her closer by her waist because there wasn't such thing as resistance when it came to her. "I know.. I know you do.. I just-" She spoke with that soft voice and erased every little fury inside me. I could listen to her for days and nights and I could never get tired of that voice. No matter the situation, no matter the conversation. She cut herself off, closed her eyes for a second. When she looked back at me, I saw the kind of determination that nothing could break. The kind of certainty that she was holding onto. "I don't need that kind of a protection. I want Adam dead." You want him dead to protect your family, I wanted to tell her but I kept quiet because that closeness didn't allow me to find my voice.. She wanted him dead to protect her whole bloodline because that was the blood the necklace was made with. She wanted to protect them, but I just wanted to protect her and I was ready to do everything to just have her safe. "We just need a good plan to get my father on our side." She spoke quietly again and all I could do was nod my head. I wanted her to protect her family if that's what she thought she needed to do. I trusted her decisions. But at the same time, I wanted her protected more than anything. And if her father could help me do that, I would gladly come up with any plan to have him on our side. So yes, I nodded my head. I told her, alright. She may had been selfless with wanting her family protected but I was selfish when it came to her. I wouldn't allow anything to hurt her, let alone that bastard Adam. She nodded her head back and leaned against me, allowing me to wrap my arms around her as she did the same.. She pressed her face against mine, ran her hands through my hair once again while I held her close to myself, inhaling her scent against the crook of her neck. It was that moment when I knew.. I would do anything for her. I would ruin anyone for her. She didn't deserve to live in fear. She deserved the world. I never loved anyone as much as I did her. And I couldn't bare with the thought of losing her. So I would come together with her family if that's what she wanted. If that was what would protect her. She may had been ready to sacrifice herself for those she loved even though she didn't admit it. But I was ready to die a thousand times for her if it was needed.
