Chapter 240
Chapter 240
There were no more seats in the car, so we thought it would be fine if Carla laid across Me Kade and Jessica in the back seat.
We clearly weren't thinking straight.
We made it about 10 seconds of the way to my house before Kade started tickling Carla, and she immediately started slapping him in response. Jessica dodged Carla's legs as she involuntarily kicked her feet and I yelled at them to stop before Layla got us in a crash- I didn't know who the hell let her be the one driving in the first place. She was dying laughing behind the wheel at the scene currently going on in the back, and then I started telling her to focus on driving while Carla kept trying to clamber farther onto me in order to save herself from Kade. She was acting like a goddamn spider monkey for fk's sake.
It was a miracle that we made it back alive, and when Kade sprinted into the house, running away from Carla and her wrath, Josie and Madison looked both confused as hell and not surprised as they watched her chase him into the house while yelling weird, Carla-like threats and expressions at him.
I ignored Layla mischievously pulling Jessica into the kitchen as I pried Carla off of Kade, laughing at his tiredly grateful expression as I fell onto the couch with her wrapped within my arms. She quickly disregarded her previous vengeance on Kade to kiss me, and I broke the kiss for a second to say up to Kade, "Can you go break up Layla and Jessica, please?"
"Fine, but only because I'm casually frightened of the both of you," he replied, heading into the kitchen. I flipped us over, and she giggled before leaning up and bringing my lips down to hers before I even got the chance to do so.
"I'm so fking happy you're happy," she said, and I bit my lip through my smile, love coursing through my veins. What in the living fk could I have possibly ever done to deserve her??
I kissed down her neck and felt along her side, gripping her waist and letting myself grin against her soft skin. I knew we would only have a few more moments before all the others would come in the room and we'd have to pull away, so I kissed her with everything I had and then whispered some stuff into her ear that had her both erupting in laughter and blushing in anticipation of later.
"Welp, the parents are at it again," Josie joked to Madison about the two of us when they walked in, and Carla broke the kiss to look over at them with a chuckle. Told ya..
"Okay but can we talk about how amazing my speech was?!" Kade came back in the room, slinging an arm over a unsuspecting Josie and Madison.
"It wasn't a speech-" he cut me off.
"It was a goddamn speech if I'd ever heard one," Kade countered, moving from them two to plop down on a loveseat. "Oh, and by the way, I couldn't get them two to pull apart," he told me, and I immediately went to get up, but Carla pushed me back down onto the couch to keep me from them.
"Guys good news!" Layla came back into the room, Jessica in tow behind her. I dramatically rolled my eyes at his disheveled appearance, "As Jessica's sugar baby I have decided to force him into spending some more money on snacks and champagne," she grinned, putting her shoes back on and heading to the door, Jessica following despite being confused. He honestly looked as though he just found that out about it himself.
"Hey no fair, I was his sugar baby first you don't get to make that call," I called over to her, and she stuck her tongue out at me.
"Why didn't I go for the rich one?" Carla asked Josie, who shrugged as if to say 'couldn't tell you'. I pinched her waist at the comment, and she shrieked out a giggle as she lay across my lap.
Jake hopped on the couch next to me and Carla subconsciously fiddled with my fingers as we all talked and laughed. And I don't think words could have possibly described how happy I felt in that beautiful moment.
