Chapter 56
Dan was lying in a large bed in a dimly lit room. He was naked and covered in a light sheet. He felt happier than he could ever remember. He also felt a delicious sense of anticipation. He could feel himself getting hard.
Dan glanced over at the other bed that was in the room. On it lay a jumble of clothing: two white shirts, black pants with satin stripes running down the legs, two black jackets, each with a white rose pinned to the lapel. He rolled over on his back and held up his left hand. He rubbed the gold ring that was on the third finger with his thumb. His sense of happiness deepened.
The bathroom door opened. In the light that flooded the room Dan could see the silhouette of a tall man, a white towel wrapped around his smooth, muscular body.
The man switched off the bathroom light and walked toward the bed. He stopped, let the towel slide to the floor, and removed his wire framed glasses and laid them on the bedside table.
Dan raised the sheet. The man slid into bed and took Dan in his arms. He smiled and pulled Dan toward him. Their lips touched.
Dan snorted and jerked awake. Lady raised her head from his lap and looked at him. Dan was hard. He could feel pre-cum running down his leg. He shook his head. “Wow,” he said to Lady. “That must have been some dream. Can’t remember any of it though. Come on, you two, let’s go out again and then get to bed.”

Saturday turned out to be a picture perfect early fall day. It was sunny and warm, but not uncomfortably so. White pop-corn clouds dotted the sky. The maples along the road were showing a hint of color. Fall was one of the best times to be out on the country roads as far as Dan was concerned.
Dan drove happily along on his way to Scott’s farm. He wondered who would be there. Sarah and Susan, of course, as meeting them was the main reason for the invitation. Scott’s wife? Surely the oft-mentioned mother of his daughters would be there, now the remodeling on the house was completed. But who else was the family Scott had mentioned in his phone call that he wanted Dan to meet?
He pulled into the drive at the farm. There were several cars already there.
Dan heard a young voice call out as he parked his car and got out.
“He’s here! He’s here!”
A pretty girl with strawberry blond hair came running out of the yard. She had a scruffy-looking puppy on a leash which was running, jumping, and barking playfully beside her.
She and the pup came to a stop in front of Dan and announced, “I’m Sarah and this is Sadie. Today is my birthday. Well, mine and Susan’s. She’s my sister. We’re twins. We’re twelve today. Daddy got us Sadie for our birthday.” She said this all on one breath.
Dan knelt on one knee. Sadie came up to him, all wags and wiggles. She looked much like Lad and Lady.
“Well, I’m very happy to meet you both, and happy birthday,” Dan said. He wished Scott had told him it was the girls’ birthday. He would have brought them each something.
Dan looked up to see Scott walking toward him. He was holding the hand of a little girl who was a carbon copy of the one standing in front of Dan. She hung back slightly. Dan could see she was holding a piece of paper behind her back.
Dan rose and watched them. He became very aware of how attractive Scott Wagner was, and hoped it didn’t show.
When they reached Dan, Scott said, “Good to see you.” Scott surprised Dan by giving him a hug. Then stepping back, he said to the girl at his side, “Susan, this is Dr. Dan.”
Susan looked up at Dan and then quickly looked away.
“She’s shy,” Sarah informed Dan. “Susie, he isn’t gonna bite you. He’s really nice.”
Dan knelt again. “Hi, Susan. Sarah told me it was your birthday. Happy Birthday.”
“Thank you,” the girl mumbled.
“Sarah told me you got Sadie as a present.”
Susan nodded but didn’t look up. “Yes.”
“She’s really cute. She looks like my dogs.”
“What are their names?” Susan asked, making eye contact for the first time.
“Lady and Lad.”
“Can you bring them out sometime?” Susan asked, clearly gaining confidence.
Dan looked at Scott, who smiled and nodded.
“Sure, I bet they’d love to visit the farm.”
Dan stood. “They’re really sweet kids.” He moved to stand next to Scott.
