Chapter 36-1
Monday morning rolled around a lot faster than I would have liked. I turned over in bed stifling a groan to turn off my blaring alarm clock before realizing that something was in my way. A very sexy something. I recalled the events of the night before rather quickly, remembering how sweet and tender our kiss had been and how quickly he had ended it, not wanting us to rush anything and I appreciated that more than he knew. And when it came time to go to sleep he acted like he was going to sleep on the floor but I wouldn't let him so I put a few pillows in between us and called it a night. And that was the mystery of how the pillows ended up on the floor and my body cuddled up next to his body that was currently without a shirt. His body was so warm it was like a space heater and I honestly never wanted to leave that bed. But alas, that was the problem with Monday's and a responsibility to one's future, and I still wanted to get into a good school after this all blew over. I gingerly rolled myself out of the bed so as to not wake Kieran and practically ran to the shower, washing my body and hair and then brushing my teeth and getting ready for the school day ahead with my trusty blow drier and curling wand. Thirty minutes later because, let's be honest, my hair was so long it wasn't going to take any less time than that to make it look pretty, and a slather of makeup later, I looked presentable. The only problem was I was in a towel and my clothes were in my room, where Kieran was probably still sleeping like a bear in hibernation due to the ungodly time I had woken up thanks to my amazing sleeping schedule, note the sarcasm. I tiptoed my way through the bedroom from my ensuite and darted to my clothes only to hear a dark chuckle making its way through my room. I spun on my heel only to see a very sexy Kieran with tousled hair that did nothing to diminish the staggering effect he had on my body. His shirt was off and those gleaming muscles stared at me and I couldn't help the almost drool that wanted to find its way out of my mouth. He was leaned up against one hand on his side and was posed so intricately it was as if he was a Calvin Klein model at a photo shoot. All he was missing was the black and white. "Forget something?" he asked me teasingly and I felt my cheeks warm up to an intense shade and temperature. I cleared my throat so I didn't sound like a squeaky toy when answering him. "Just my pride. Shouldn't you head over to your house to get ready for school or something?" His green eyes that were relatively dark in the mornings I had noticed grew even darker as they skimmed the swell of my chest just underneath the top of my towel which made my cheeks burn even brighter than before. My heart ricocheting in my chest, I turned around and grabbed my things and dashed back into the bathroom before he could respond. "It's not even close to seven thirty yet, I can get ready in two minutes." I heard his gruff voice on the other side of the bathroom door, closer than it should have been if he was still on the bed. I gulped. I was thankful I had locked the door, although it still felt as if there was no wall between us at all, like I could still feel the heat of his body seeping through the door and hear his heartbeat as strongly as I could hear mine pounding in my ears. I changed as quickly as I could into the outfit I'd laid out the night before- dark skinny jeans with some open toed wedges and a cream colored flowy top that accentuated my chest area. Once I was dressed I opened my door to find that he was already gone, the window cracked and the curtains billowing in the early morning wind telling me that he had done as I suggested and made his way to his house to get ready for school. A breakfast croissant and a glass of orange juice later, I was pulling my bag strap over my shoulder when I heard the honking outside alerting me to Kieran waiting for me in his car. I said goodbye to my parents who were watching outside the windows with extra precaution as of late and bounded outside to meet his sleek black car waiting for me. I hopped in and he drove away without another word which allowed me to admire his body for a good minute and a half before I tore my eyes away, sadly. "I hope Jake's not at school today. He's really been pissing me off lately," I heard Kieran rumble out. "Oh no, what did he do this time?" I asked him, not batting my eyes in the slightest over mention of my ex boyfriend and ex ex best friend. It was like once I'd let the floodgates out on what had happened to me, it made it that much easier to forget the people who had hurt me emotionally rather than physically, mentally, and emotionally to boot. "He was making breakfast for his girlfriend when I came down to get you and he started trying to pick a fight with me for no damn reason. Saying I stole you from him or some bullshit like that." I scoffed.
