Chapter Sixty-One

All it'd have taken, was one hitch to spoil our plans. Luckily, Xavier was arrogant enough not to notice the fact that we easily allowed ourselves to be captured.
While he was gloating in self-victory, Qyle had activated the secret amulet which Queen Belinda had given us before we set out. It was a powerful amulet, known to disarm even the most powerful of Rogue-brids.
I sat outside the tent which we set up, staring at the blazing bonfire in the cold night. Natasha and Qyle joined me.
“If our plans had gone awry, were you really going to allow him take your powers?” She asked, pulling the blanket even closer around her body.
I didn't respond. I pondered over her words, and at the realization that I'd have really done it just to save Mirah's life, my eyes widened.
“What's next?” Qyle asked, shaking me out of my thoughts.
I heaved a sigh. “He wasn't acting in isolation. I'm sure he had someone supporting him.”
“And what you're saying is-” Natasha paused, realization hitting her. “It had to be someone who hates you enough to kill you.”
I shook my head. “You don't get it. He wanted my powers. He wanted to use it for something else.” I put myself in his shoes, and tried to figure out his way of thinking.
First of all, he wanted to use Mirah to trap me. Then, he wanted to take my powers.
I rose abruptly. “He's going to come back. We have to find a way to gather all the kingdoms. If I was his target this time, the next would be the heir of another kingdom.”
I finally figured it out. Whoever he was, wanted the power of every heir from all kingdoms. And that meant he wanted absolute power.
“But, didn't all rogue-brids die generations ago?” Qyle put in contemplatively.
I looked up at the sky, my eyes glinting coldly.
“I guess there are things the leaders of all kingdoms are hiding. Particularly the Circle.” I said, clasping my hands behind me.
“Should we ask my mother first?” Natasha asked.
“I doubt she'd spill easily. I suspect the sudden disappearance of the Rogue-brids, is related to the war between the vampire and See-brids.” I turned to face Natasha.
“We have to get Weasels.” I said to her.
Her brows furrowed. “I have to get back then.” She shook her head.
I raised my hand. “No, we have to go together.”
“Zeke, we are at war with each other.” She said softly.
“For what cause?” I asked them.
“We have to go together. If we're going to get answers from the Circle, we have to show them that we aren't fazed by their rules.”
They went silent, as if pondering over my words.
“You're right. It has to be all hands on deck.” Qyle said. The air dropped down a few degrees, and I avoided direct eye contact with him.
The war had taken his father's life.
“We've rested enough. Let's get back to Vermont.”
I began walking towards the tent. I needed to rest. 'Cause I'd be needing enough of it for the war.

She was sleeping, her chest heaving beautifully. I brushed her hair away, and she turned slightly. The movement made her body closer to mine.
I could feel the heat emanating from her body, and I groaned.
During the few days we were apart, I endured the torture. Though at that moment, I wanted to bury myself inside her and bring both of us to ecstasy, I didn't want to wake her up.
She looked so peaceful, and beautiful while asleep. My hand strayed down towards her injured hand, and my eyes darkened. She was still putting on my ring, and my heart stirred at the sight.
I thought she'd thrown it away like the first time.
But her glaring wound wiped off the fleeting happiness. That bastard.
My aura surged, and she stirred.
“Zeke,” she whispered.
At the sound of her voice, with her looking so vulnerable, I couldn't help but rein in my anger.
Her eyes misted, as she lifted it towards my face.
“I must be in paradise. Why did you follow me here though?” Her voice cracked.
“We are alive, Kitten.” I smiled.
She didn't say a word, simply looking at me intently. Then she suddenly sat up and flung herself at me. I caught her easily, taking in the whiff of her scent.
Sandalwood and lilies.
My kitten.
“I thought I'd never see you again,” she cried, tightening her hold around my waist. She pulled away quickly and locked her lips with mine.
Though I wanted to tell her to be mindful of herself, since she just went through shock, I obliged her.
I ran my hands through her hair, the other hand going around her waist. The kiss was sensual, slow, filled with our fears and emotions.
I tasted the saltiness of her tears, as she sobbed into my mouth. I brushed my tongue against hers, pushed her down on the bed and deepened the kiss.
She ran her hands up and down my back, her nails leaving scratch marks.
“Kitten,” I panted hoarsely, taking off her shirt quickly.
“Yes, Love?” She bit her lower lip.
“I want to fuck you right now. But if you don't want me to, you can-” She brought up a finger against my lips, effectively shutting me up.
Our harsh breaths intermingled.
“Do it, Zeke. I want you.”
I didn't hesitate. I took off her skirt quickly, leaving her with only her bra and panties on.
She tried unclasping it herself, but I held her hand in place. “No.”
Without letting go of her hand, I reached down and licked at her already dripping pussy through her panties.
Her breath hitched loudly. “Mm,” she whimpered.
I let her hand go, and moved her panties aside. Her beautiful pussy came into sight. I swallowed. This woman was just perfect.
And she was mine.
I sucked on her clit, and she let out a tortured moan, arching her back.
I lapped at her clit, and finally pushed into her pussy. Her juices dripped down on my mouth. I didn't waste a drop.
I replaced my tongue with my fingers, pushing in two at first. Then three.
At each thrust, she moaned and whimpered loudly.
“Fuck, yes, Zeke! Mm.” She moaned.
Her sensual tone spurred me on. I felt her pussy clench around my fingers, and increased my tempo.
