Del kissed him on the forehead. “You okay, baby?”
Justin blinked dozily at him. “When can we do that again?”
Del laughed again, and leaned in to brush their lips together. “Whenever you like, babe.”
Whenever he liked.
Justin was going to hold him to that. 14
In his marriage, Del had bottomed about ninety percent of the time. Was it his preference? No, not really. That had just been the dynamic between Clyde and him, and frankly, it had been the only dynamic that had worked for Clyde at all. He’d bottomed enough times that it was obvious he saw it somehow as…less, maybe. It got to a point where Clyde didn’t even enjoy it, and it had been obvious to Del that he could’ve, if he’d wanted to let himself.
The odd time he asked to bottom—usually drunk and a couple of times high—he’d gotten off spectacularly. But every morning after had been unpleasant and in the last couple of years, Del hadn’t bothered asking and Clyde hadn’t volunteered.
It had all led Del to having a very one-sided experience when it came to sex. In fact, he’d never topped enough to know what his preference even was.
Had he been converted now, after one time inside Justin? No. But was he going to look forward to doing it again? Hell. Yes.
At first, he hadn’t really thought about it that way, how inexperienced he was in topping. He’d just gone with the flow, made sure Justin was fine with each and every step, because it was so incredibly obvious how nervous he’d been.
Then, by the time he got inside Justin, Del had been pretty damn overwhelmed himself. To have Justin there like that, surrendering and submitting, and having the time of his life after the initial hesitance…it was a fucking power trip. Literally, Del thought. And then snickered like a kid.
“Why Del laughing?”
He glanced down at Wyatt who was patiently holding his now-empty plate and waiting for Del to put it into the sink.
“Oh, nothing buddy. Thank you for bringing your plate here. Is Scarlett still asleep?” he asked, despite knowing the answer.
Wyatt nodded. “Uh-huh.”
Scarlett was napping, but surprisingly, so was Harper. She’d done some reading for school—Del’s insistence, since she was suspended until Monday—and then looked so tired Del had told her it was okay to nap. Justin had gone to work as usual on Fridays, and Del was pondering on how the kids could spend the afternoon once the girls woke up.
“Okay, well, do you want to draw while I work?” Del pointed at the large table where he had everything set up again.
Wyatt thought for a moment, then nodded again, smiling. Del let out a breath of relief. At least the boy didn’t have any trauma from the incident from before.
Once Wyatt was sat down on his seat with his crayons and papers nearby, Del sent a message to Abigail, asking if she’d be available for a chat.
He had maybe thirty minutes before Scarlett would wake up, so he hoped Abigail—never, ever Abi, for some reason—would be free now.
His phone rang almost immediately.
“Hey, Abigail.”
“Hi, what’s up Uncle Del?”
“Do you want to FaceTime? I’ve got stuff to explain and no hands free, so…”
“Yeah, sure,” she said easily, and Del sat down and propped the phone against his long-empty coffee mug. He opened the video and waved at her.
“Hey, I’m here with my assistant Wyatt.” He turned the phone enough for her to see him. Wyatt grinned and waved, then continued to draw.
“Hi, Wyatt! Nice to meet you.” When Del turned the phone back, she made an “aww” face. “He’s adorable. So, what’s up?”
“Okay, so, Justin had this idea I hadn’t even thought about.”
Del explained Abigail the whole thing, and she nodded, hummed, and made notes, because she was organized like that.
“Well, I follow couple of YouTubers who do cooking and baking stuff, because it’s relaxing somehow. A while back I stumbled upon this British guy who’s like a dad and he does all sorts of kitchen gadget testing and cooking funny things and challenges, but also just regular meals or vegan versions as a challenge type of thing. He includes his wife and kids sometimes, like either as a help or just tasting the final versions. Anyway, he’s pretty funny and great, and he seems to have a good following. And his Patreon is getting more people, too.”
“His…what now?”
“Patreon, it’s like this website where you can support creators,” Abigail explained patiently, then went through how the site worked. “Oh, and there are like goals you can set, say, if you need a new camera for filming and it costs X, you can put that there for incentive for people to join. Some people go with ‘if I get Y amount of patrons, I’ll do this video’ or something like that.”
Del hummed thoughtfully. “It does sound neat, for everyone I mean. It’s not that I need the money though.”
“No, you don’t, but people might still be interested in seeing behind the scenes stuff and such, so it’s like, if you have stuff to share, you shouldn’t do it for free?” She grinned. “I mean, it sounds mean but it’s true. You need a brand. You should call your agent and ask him what he thinks. But I’ll be happy to figure out what you’d need.”
“Would you like to run my social media stuff? For extra income? I mean, only if you have time from your studies,” he hastened to add the last bit.
