The Forgivnes

"Antonio ...." Joe called Antonio who was chatting with other workers in front of the house.

Antonio rushed to meet Joe inside his office. "What's up, boss?" he asked.

"Now you don't need to investigate Elizabeth Young. What you should do is investigate this information, about Charles Green's family and the cause of his death," Joe said at length as he gave orders to his personal assistant.

"Alright, I'll do it right away. Is there anything else?"

"That's it. You can go into my father's house to get supporting information." Joe added.

"Is it okay if I go there?"

"That's fine. I'll contact one of my father's assistants there," Joe ended their meeting.

Joe saw Antonio leave his room not long after. After this he would make a decision to determine Briana's next fate. For some reason after hearing Briana's story, he had no grudge against the girl.

On the contrary, there was a growing sense of pity that he directed at Briana.

The night was getting late. Joe looked for Briana. After their conversation this morning, he hadn't seen her again. He was pretty sure she hadn't gone far. But he didn't know for sure where Briana was now.

"Briana ...." Joe called out as he wandered around the back of his house.

"Have you seen Briana?" Joe approached one of the workers who had just come out of the warehouse.

"I haven't seen her since earlier," replied the young man who had worked with Joe for three years.

Joe continued his search. He walked around the back garden, then his eyes gazed into the distance, towards the meadow. But Briana was still nowhere to be seen.

Then as if on cue, Joe suddenly ran, and entered the stables. He immediately froze in front of the stable door when he saw Briana lying on a pile of hay. Relieved to find Briana there, a faint smile appeared on Joe's lips. He sneaked up on Briana.

"Briana ...."

Briana didn't move. She was sleeping so soundly, the sound of her breathing was regular. So she couldn't hear Joe's voice.

Joe decided to lift Briana's body. He would take her into the house, and lay her on the bed. It was more comfortable there than lying on the rough haystack.

"What are you doing? Put me down now," Briana pleaded with wide eyes as Joe started up the stairs.

"Not yet. You'd better be quiet like before," Joe snapped, silencing Briana's protesting lips with a light kiss.

Briana touched his lips. Both cheeks felt warm. Then she closed her eyes again. She buried her face in Joe's chest.

Joe pushed the door to Briana's room softly. Just as he was about to put Briana down on the bed, she jumped from his arms. Briana managed to stand up while holding on to both of Joe's hands.

"I want to take a shower. My body feels all sticky," Briana said a little clumsily.

Briana raised her head, looking straight at Joe. Standing at Joe's level, she felt very small. Joe was 6 feet 11 inches tall. While she was 5 feet 7 inches tall.

"I'll make you dinner. Maria has set the table. I don't feel like waking her up," Joe said quickly.

Briana shook her head. "You don't have to. I'm not hungry. Maybe I'll go back to sleep after I clean up."

Briana went into the bathroom. She turned on the faucet. The warm water soaked her body, making the nerves in her head relax a little.

"Oh ...." Briana gasped when she saw Joe still in his room. "I thought you had left," Briana said as she tightened the straps of the bathrobe she was wearing. She wasn't wearing anything underneath the clothes.

"I was waiting for you. Maybe you needed something," Joe replied. But he actually knew it was just an excuse to make her want to stay in this room.

"No, I don't. I don't need anything at all," Briana said quickly. Somehow she felt strange being in her room alone with Joe.

"Is there something you want to talk about again?" asked Briana with a sad look in her eyes.

Actually, while waiting for Briana, Joe was thinking about something. About the incident when they stayed at the cottage that day. Now might be the time to apologize to Briana.

"I should apologize for what happened a few days ago when we were at the cottage," Joe said, returning Briana's gaze.

A blush instantly appeared on both of Briana's cheeks. The girl bowed her head. Why did Joe have to remind her of that incident? More or less she had a role there. Joe wouldn't have touched her if he hadn't started it first.

"I don't want to talk about it," Briana snapped.

"How old are you really?"

"That has absolutely nothing to do with it. I'm an adult, so I can take responsibility for my actions," Briana replied. From her voice, she sounded very upset.

Joe walked over to Briana. He took her hand, and invited her to sit on the bed. His hand grasped Briana's hand tightly.

"I want to know your age so I don't feel guilty for taking away your chastity," Joe whispered in Briana's ear.

"I'm twenty-one years old," Briana said quickly. She tried to pull her hand away, but to no avail. Joe wouldn't let go.

"You're so young."

"But I don't blame you." Briana looked straight into Joe's face. Then she brought her face closer to Joe's. "I don't hate you either."

Joe smiled broadly after hearing Briana's confession. "How can you not hate me? I'm the son of the man who killed your family."

"And I succeeded in killing him," Briana replied quickly.

They both smiled. Then things got a little awkward. They stared at each other for a few seconds.

Joe looked at Briana's beautiful face which had a different aura from most girls. Briana's face was very innocent and also portrayed courage. It was a mix of opposites but interesting and impressive.

Joe seemed to be carried away by this quiet atmosphere. He touched Briana's cheek, then kissed her lips with a burning hot kiss. It was as if they had not seen each other for a long time.

"You know, you're very beautiful tonight," Joe said seductively. He smiled happily when he saw Briana blush after hearing his words.

Unfortunately, when Joe wanted to continue kissing Briana again, something came to disturb him. The ringing sound of his cell phone asked for his attention. He took his cell phone from his pants pocket and got out of bed.

"I'll take this call."
