Chapter 202 Two Hundred & Two
Chapter 202 Two Hundred & Two
Giovanni’s heart pounded as he lunged forward, trying to grab Elara, but her grip on Ganni was like iron. She was wild, screaming, her eyes burning with obsession.
“I’m going to let you feel how much you hurt me.” She said pointing the knife at Gannis neck
Suddenly… a gunshot rang out.
Everyone froze.
Elara stumbled, clutching her shoulder. She looked around wildly, panic flashing across her face. Another shot hit her, this time in the other shoulder. She cried out, dropping Ganni to the ground as she fell to her knees.
Ganni scrambled to Raven, who caught him, wrapping him tight. Giovanni knelt beside them, his eyes blazing with fury, scanning for the shooter.
Adrian stepped forward from the shadows, gun in hand, breathing hard. “I… I couldn’t let her hurt anyone else,” he said, voice shaking but firm.
Elara’s wild laughter faltered, turning into a strangled gasp. She tried to rise, but her strength was gone. Blood seeped through her clothes, staining her hands and face.
Giovanni moved closer, anger and relief warring in his chest. “It’s over… it’s finished,” he said softly.
Elara’s eyes met his one last time, filled with fury, pain, and obsession. Then… she slumped forward, lifeless.
Silence fell over the mansion. The only sounds were Ganni’s soft sobs and Raven’s shaky breaths.
Adrian lowered the gun, his hands trembling. “I… I didn’t want it to come to this,” he whispered.
Giovanni put a hand on his shoulder, still keeping his eyes on Elara’s body. “Sometimes… there’s no other way,” he said quietly.
Gabriele exhaled, running a hand through his hair. “It’s finally over.”
The night air felt heavy, filled with grief, relief, and the aftermath of madness. But for the first time in weeks, Giovanni allowed himself to breathe. Ganni was safe. Raven was safe. And the nightmare of Elara… was finally over.
Giovanni sank to his knees beside Ganni and Raven, pulling them both close. Ganni’s small body shook as he buried his face in Giovanni’s chest, whispering, “Mummy… …”
Raven held him tightly, her hand pressed to her side where Elara had stabbed her. She was pale but alive, her breathing steadying with each passing second. Giovanni kissed the top of Ganni’s head and whispered, “She won’t hurt us anymore. I promise you… nothing will ever hurt you again.”
Adrian lowered his gun completely, hands shaking as he approached. “I… I’m sorry it had to come to that. I didn’t want to kill her.”
Giovanni glanced at him, his eyes hard but calm. “You did what you had to do. She was dangerous… and she wouldn’t have stopped. You saved them.”
Gabriele stepped forward, looking down at the fallen Elara. “She… she caused so much pain. So much. But at least it’s over now.”
Giovanni nodded, still holding his family close. “Yes… It’s finally over. And are alive. That’s all that matters now.”
Ganni sniffled, looking up at his father with wide, tear-filled eyes. “We’re safe now… right, Papa?”
Giovanni smiled, brushing the boy’s hair back. “Yes, my little man. We’re safe. And we’re never letting anything or anyone come between us again.”
Raven rested her head on Giovanni’s shoulder, exhausted but relieved. “Thank you… for saving us,” she whispered.
He kissed her temple gently. “No one is taking you from me. Not ever.”
Outside, the night was quiet for the first time in weeks. The chaos, the fear, the obsession… they were gone. All that remained was family, love, and the long, slow process of healing together.
And for the first time, Giovanni allowed himself to believe that maybe… just maybe… the nightmare was finally behind them.
Giovanni carefully lifted Ganni into his arms, holding him close as Raven leaned against his chest. The boy’s small hands clung to him, still trembling, while Giovanni whispered, “It’s over, my boy. You’re safe now. No one can hurt you again.”
Raven nodded weakly, her hand brushing Ganni’s hair back. “I… I can’t believe it’s really over,” she murmured. Her voice was hoarse, but there was a faint smile in her tired eyes.
Gabriele stepped forward, giving Giovanni a supportive nod. “Thank God she’s dead,” he said quietly.
Adrian, still pale but steady, lowered his gun and approached. “I’ll stay nearby, to give my statement to the police when they arrive”
“Hey take Ganni upstairs.”
Raven carefully tucked Ganni into his bed, smoothing back his hair and whispering, “Sleep well, my little brave boy. Nothing will ever hurt you again.” She lingered for a moment, watching his chest rise and fall, until his breathing evened and he drifted into sleep.
She quietly stepped out of the room, closing the door gently behind her, and made her way downstairs. The mansion was calm now, the chaos of the past weeks replaced by an almost fragile stillness. She found Giovanni standing by the large windows in the living room, looking out at the city lights, his hands in his pockets, his shoulders tense.
“Gio…” she said softly, her voice breaking slightly.
He turned at the sound of her voice, his eyes immediately locking on hers. The exhaustion, guilt, and relief were written across his face. “Raven… I…” He trailed off, his voice catching.
She took a step closer, tears brimming. “It’s all been so much, Gio. But… we’re here. We made it.”
Giovanni shook his head, stepping toward her. “No… I don’t deserve this, I don’t deserve you. For all the pain I caused, for letting things get so far… I’m sorry, Raven. I’m so sorry.”
Raven shook her head, tears streaming freely now. “Gio… you’ve done so much. We can’t change the past. But we’re here now. That’s what matters.”
He reached for her, and she let him pull her into his arms. Both of them cried quietly, holding onto each other like it was the only anchor in a storm that had threatened to tear them apart.
“I promise,” Giovanni whispered into her hair, “I’ll never let anything hurt you or Ganni again. I swear it.”
Raven tilted her face up to his, their tears mixing, their foreheads pressed together. “I believe you, Gio. I always will.”
Their lips met in a tender, aching kiss, a release of all the fear, anger, and sorrow they had carried. When they finally pulled back, they rested their foreheads together, breathing in unison.
