Chapter 195 One Hundred & Ninety Five
Chapter 195 One Hundred & Ninety Five
The sound of sirens grew louder… closer… until flashing red and blue lights filled the windows.
Then…
The door burst open.
“Police! Drop everything!”
Officers rushed in, guns raised, moving fast, trained, precise.
Gabriele stepped back slightly, lowering his weapon but keeping his eyes on Elara.
Elara was still on her knees, clutching her bleeding hand, her body shaking.
For a second…
She just stared at them.
Then her expression twisted.
“No…” she whispered. “No, no, NO…. Don't come any closer!”
Two officers moved in quickly, grabbing her arms, pulling them behind her back despite her struggling.
“Let go of me!” she screamed, thrashing wildly. “Get your hands off me!”
The handcuffs clicked into place.
She froze.
Then her head snapped up, her eyes locking onto Giovanni.
“This isn’t over!” she screamed, her voice sharp, unhinged. “Do you hear me?! I’ll kill you all! I’ll make sure you suffer!”
Ganni buried his face into Giovanni’s chest, trembling.
Giovanni held him tighter, his expression dark but unmoved.
Elara’s breathing became erratic.
Fast.
Uneven.
Then suddenly…
She started crying.
Loud.
Broken sobs are tearing out of her chest.
“I did everything for you…” she choked. “Everything… and you still chose her… please.. Please I love you don't.. Don't do this!”
Her voice cracked…
And then she laughed.
A sharp, eerie laugh that echoed through the room.
The officers tightened their grip on her.
“She thinks she won…” Elara laughed, shaking her head wildly. “She thinks she won! I'm going to kill her!”
Then just as quickly..,
The laughter collapsed back into tears.
Raw.
Unstable.
“Gio I love you…” she whispered, her voice barely there now.
The shift was terrifying.
Crying.
Laughing.
Crying again.
Like she was breaking apart right in front of them.
“Get her out of here,” one officer ordered firmly.
They dragged her toward the door as she continued to struggle, her voice echoing behind her.
“You’ll regret this, Gio!” she shouted. “You’ll regret choosing her! I swear you will!”
Her voice faded as they pulled her outside.
Then…
Silence.
Heavy.
Still.
The house felt different now.
Like the storm had finally passed.
Giovanni stood there, holding Ganni tightly, his hand gently rubbing his back.
“It’s okay…” he murmured. “It’s over buddy… it's over …”
Gabriele let out a long breath, lowering his gun completely now.
“…Damn,” he muttered under his breath.
Giovanni didn’t respond.
His eyes slowly lifted…
Looking around the room.
At the broken glass.
The blood.
The chaos she left behind.
Then down at his son.
Alive.
Safe..
Giovanni didn’t move at first, just standing there, letting the chaos settle around him. The echo of Elara’s screams, laughter, and sobs still rang in his ears, making his jaw tighten. Ganni clung to him, his small arms wrapped tightly around Giovanni’s waist, his little face buried in Giovanni’s chest.
“Daddy… was wrong with aunt… she is going to hurt me?” Ganni whispered, voice trembling.
Giovanni swallowed hard, closing his eyes for a moment, feeling the tension drain slowly but not entirely. “Dont worry about… you’re safe now, buddy. I promise, she won't come any closer to you again..@
Gabriele stepped forward, surveying the mess… the shattered glass, bloodstains, and the faint scent of iron hanging in the air. “We need to get her sentenced to life,” he said quietly, but firmly. “She’s dangerous. That… that wasn’t just an obsession. That was pure madness.”
Giovanni nodded slowly, still holding Ganni. “I know,” he said, voice low. His eyes flicked toward the doorway where police were moving her out. “But she’s gone for now. They’ll handle her.”
Ganni sniffled, letting out a shaky breath. “Is… is Mummy going to be okay?”
Giovanni’s gaze dropped, and for the first time, the weight of everything hit him fully… the injuries, the betrayals, the chaos. “Yes… she will,” he said, though his voice carried the weight of uncertainty. “Well go see her soon.. Mummy is fine.”
Gabriele glanced at him, frowning. “Bro do you need a minute.. I go hold Ganni while you take a walk or something you don't look good.”
“I’m fine,” Giovanni said, voice firm, though inside he felt anything but. He turned back to Ganni, crouching to meet his gaze. “I'm fine… Daddy isn't going anywhere“
Ganni nodded slowly, still clutching him, but his breathing began to even out.
Outside, police loaded Elara into a secure vehicle. Her cries, laughter, and sobs blended, a chilling reminder of the storm they had just survived. She screamed something about Giovanni, something about revenge, but the officers’ firm grip and the locked doors muffled most of it.
Giovanni’s eyes followed the car until it disappeared into the night. He let out a long, slow breath. “It’s over… thank God,” he murmured.
Gabriele placed a hand on his shoulder. “For now, yes. We have to make sure she gets a life sentence. I don't want to see that crazy bitch ever.”
Giovanni looked down at Ganni, brushing a lock of hair from his forehead. “Me too..”
The house was silent now, the chaos settled but the tension lingered like smoke. Giovanni stood there for a moment longer, listening to Ganni’s soft, uneven breaths, feeling the reality of the night weigh heavily on him.
But he was grateful for one thing.. His son and his family, were alive.
And that was enough.
That was all that mattered to him
