When I was able to react a bit to it, it was a bit late, those wolves were fighting, I was in shock at such a spectacle that I was seeing, I felt afraid for myself, because I might not survive. I thought about Lottie and how maybe the same thing happened to her. I felt like crying for that, I had been paralyzed, watching how the huge black wolf bit the other, in one of those the other wolf ran away in terror from here. Now I was left alone with this one. The black wolf looked at me, in his eyes I could see the desire to kill, I could see his evil inside. Then the wolf gave me one last growl and ran off where the other had gone. I was in shock, trying to react to such a situation, I don't know how long I spent there but as soon as I reacted I stood up and ran as fast as I could. I went through the same door as before, up the stairs until I reached the hallway.

I have to look for dad, he has to know what just happened, however, when I was going down the hall I bumped into someone.

"Eve, are you okay?" It was Jon. His face was worried.

"No," I replied, my voice shaking. I'm sure I looked crazy. "Lottie..."

“Shhh calm down, we'll find Lottie, the police are doing their best to find her safe and sound, okay? Do not be sad.”

There was something in Jon's look that made me feel safe, I trusted his word, it made me feel protected.

"I have to find my father." I advanced, but Jon stopped me.

"I think he just left.”

"I have to call him then." I took my cell phone and tried to look for his contact but Jonny took my cell phone from me.

“What's going on?” I wanted to know “strange things are happening here and dad must know.”

"Eva, why don't you tell me what's got you so nervous? Tell me, you can trust me. We're in this together, okay?”

His look gave me security, it made me want to tell him, but on the other hand, something inside me, deep inside me, made me not want to do it. I hesitated many times until I decided to speak.

"I think Lottie was hurt by a wolf," I said, almost in a whisper.

Jon didn't seem surprised by my confession, clearly they live here in the woods and have surely seen the wolves.

"Why do you say that?" He frowned.

“I was just in the woods because I looked at a trail of blood and… at that moment a wolf appeared. I surprised myself, It was huge.”

I obviously didn't tell him the part where Riley came up and threatened me.

"Blood you say? Where? Ride me.”

I nodded, leading him back up the same stairs where it looked as if I had dragged the body of someone injured.

“You see them?” I pointed.

"Are you sure it's blood?" Jon got on his knees and touched the floor, the blood was dry since he couldn't even get off the ground. how was it possible? “I don't want to disappoint you, Eva, but this looks like painting.”

"No, it's blood.”

"Eva, please…" Jon continued forward until he was out the same metal door. I felt scared at that moment, I don't want to be outside with those bloody wolves. Where would Riley go? With the confusion I didn't realize it, I just stayed in shock for a long time. “can you come? I want to show you something so that your doubts are cleared. Come on, Eva, you can go out, nothing will happen to you if you're with me.”

“Alright.” I went out with a bit of fear and quickly caught up with Jon.

“I want you to see this,” he tells me, pointing to the wall. I looked there and it can't be, they had been painting it blood red, I looked in a corner where there was a container with the same paint, there were drops on the floor... it can't be, how stupid I feel now.

"I…I was sure she was here…I saw that and thought of Lottie."

"Calm down." Jon gives me a warm hug. "Look on the bright side, that's not her blood. Lottie is fine. We just have to keep looking for her, she may be somewhere, the school is so big.”

I nodded because he was right, it was a good sign that it wasn't blood, she would be fine.

“There were wolves” I remembered “They are enormous, very big and bloodthirsty, I feel very afraid now. Let's get out of here, I'm really scared to be in the woods.”

For some reason I began to feel watched, as if someone was there among the trees, maybe it was that same wolf that defended me, did he defend me? I'm still not sure if that's what happened.

“Ok, let's go.”

We entered the school again, there were almost no students outside, there were some officers looking for Lottie in every corner of this place. She will be here? That is the question.

“I know you're not going to want to but you should go to class, I promise I'll bring Lottie.”

"Thank you, Jon, you're a very good friend." I kissed him on the cheek and turned quickly to continue walking away from him. I hope he don't think ill of me for doing that. Just when I was going to turn a strong arm took me by the waist and made me stick to his chest.

"Kessler." I looked at him, he looked somewhat agitated.

“Never in your life, Eva, kiss any man again, okay?”

I frowned in his direction because he had said the most ridiculous thing anyone has ever done.

“What are you talking about?” I wanted to get away but he wouldn't let me. Kessler's perfume invaded my nostrils and being so close to him makes my stomach tickle and I don't know why.

"Just watching you give stupid Jonny a sweet kiss on the cheek, Eva, I'm warning you: stay away from him. Jonny is my enemy.”

"What the hell are you talking about?" this time I did let go, I felt empty “Jonny is my friend and I can talk to him as many times as I want. Besides, you don't have any right to tell me something or demand things from me. You should be more aware of what your future wife Riley does.”

"You don't know what you're talking about, Eva. I can dispose of your life whenever I want.”

He got so close to me that he stole my breath, his lips looked appetizing. I felt strange desires to shorten the little distance between us and kiss him. I hated myself for thinking that.

“What do you want of me?” I wanted to say, Kessler confuses me, he tells me things that, honestly, leave me thinking. It even seems that he likes me, which is impossible.

“Unfortunately, Eva, it's something I can't help, it comes in my nature. Would you believe me if I told you that inside of me I have a beast that screams your name? Who calls you every damn second, who wants to smell you, look at you, touch you” he raised his hand and his fingers touched my skin “He wants to feel you, Eva, I want to.”

"It’s Enough, please, I'm afraid to go to class." I wanted to leave but Kessler took me by the arms and led me down the hall until I entered an empty classroom. He closed the door and approached me.

"I need to know what it feels like to kiss you."

“Kessler, please, you're out of control.”

“I know, that's how you call me, Eva.”

Kessler sniffed my neck, I shuddered when I felt his breath on the back of my neck.

“I wish to kiss you.”

Deep down I felt the same, I want to do it but I shouldn't.

“I thought I would never find you, Eva, I was determined to forget about you but you had to appear at the least expected moment, when I decided to forget you and create a new life with new rules, you came and turned my world upside down, you ruined my plans...”

“I don't know what you're talking about, we've never met before.”

“No, but I know that inside you also feel that this is familiar between us. You feel me close, as if you've known me all your life, right?”

He was right, but it was something I couldn't understand. I didn't say anything because I had nothing to say, Kessler moved closer to me until his lips finally brushed against mine. I can't explain what I feel right now, his lips are cold, they move with mine at the same rate, as if they were made for each other, I got closer to him, I wrapped my hands around his neck, caressing his hair. We kissed like there was no tomorrow.
