Shower

"That's a big bag, going away with Romina again?"

"No, I'll be with Leslie this weekend." Rune smiled as he spun the bag he was holding in his hand.

"Oh, she's back?"

"Yeah."

"Interesting. Are you planning anything fun?"

Rune frowned and said, "I'm not sure. I told you he's not the same as Romina. I don't think she'd take me to places like Spain or Morocco. The last time I talked to her, she lied. And said I would see her in two weeks. It's been well over four weeks now. If she stopped sending me money, I'd stop calling her my 'sugar mommy,' but I guess I can't really complain if I get a lot from her and you don't have to do much."

"Oh, I wish the first sugar daddy or mommy I met was like her. Sure send me money, but don't talk to me. She's like the perfect sugar mommy. I think Romina is chasing you more than her. But she also treats you well. Morocco has always been on my bucket list. Maybe I can get Rhys to agree that we should go there.”

Rune nodded. "Romina always talks to me, but she has a busy life, just like Leslie. When she asked me to go to Morocco and Spain with her, I was surprised. Even though she had a few days of meetings, we did a lot. This week she asked me, I wanted to go to Bali with her, but I couldn't because of school. She told me she could take me there on my next break. I'm excited."

"Damn, soon she'll take you all over the world. Maybe you won't need Leslie anymore. Soon you'll be able to be like me and only have one sugar mommy. Not that I could ever have two dealing with Rhys. I'm sure he's watching everything I do. Be thankful that neither of those two are giving you trouble. Sometimes I get stressed out about Rhys, but I swear I want to change our status and become more. I was trying to figure out how to tell him about it. Maybe I'll do it this weekend."

"If that's what you want, you should. From what you've told me about him, I don't think he'd be against it, especially since it's been a while since you've been together." Rune said as he tried to encourage Joshua.

Joshua smiled, "I guess you're right. I'll let you know how it goes. I'll text you if I do."

"Remember, I won't be able to use my phone when I'm with Leslie."

"Damn, I forgot. Okay, we'll talk about it on Monday."

. . . .

No matter how many times Rune tried to reassure himself that Leslie was just another person, a human being like him if you cut the part of being a vampire, he didn't feel any less anxious. He couldn't calm his nerves when he was around the woman. Ever since they last saw each other two months ago, Rune was sure that the woman had only gotten more beautiful. Even though she didn't think it was possible, he couldn't take his eyes off Leslie as they walked through her shelter together. Even though the atmosphere of their silence was heavy, Rune's thoughts and all the questions he wanted to ask were heavier on his mind.

But he didn't dare say them out loud because he was waiting for Leslie to start talking. The drive to her apartment was pretty quiet. Leslie didn't say anything to him other than asking if he had a good day and when he asked the same question he got a vague answer that didn't allow them to continue their conversation. "I want you to go to the bathroom and shower. Then you can join me in the dining room." Leslie said brightly as she stopped in front of the bathroom door with Rune.

"Good." Rune considered informing her that he had taken a bath before leaving the house, but decided against it. Because it was so rare, he cherished every opportunity he had to take a luxurious shower in Leslie's bathroom.
