Chapter 17 Chapter 17

Chapter 17 Chapter 17
"Make sure she doesn't lack anything." In the spacious office, after relaying his message to Harlan, Daimen put back the phone. He intertwined his fingers and fell into deep thoughts. One could sense a peculiar emotion in his eyes. His lips were slightly tilted into a smile.
His thoughts were masked from the world.
"Is this Luna Hart, that girl who slap-" Elias coughed mid-sentence once he felt an icy look from Damien. He adjusted his tie and restated. "I mean, Daimen, why are you giving her such good treatment? Aren't you supposed to punish her?"
"What is the worst treatment? It depends on what that person perceives to be the worst treatment." Thinking about that girl, something dark twinkled in Damien's usually cold eyes. Elias caught the emotion. "And yes, she will get her due punishment."
"Punishment?"
Damien leaned back in his chair as he said.
"She can't be forgiven for what she did out in public..." Damien trailed off and fell into a contemplative silence.
Elias listened eagerly for what had to come after that 'public'. After all, it was quite unusual for his brother to take such a deep interest in a woman to actually bring her home. It had been ten years since his brother took such an interest in a woman.
And the cherry on top was that it wasn't just some random woman. It was a woman who had disrespected his brother.
If it were someone else who had even talked to him in a disrespectful manner, the person would have long been underground by now.
On the contrary, his brother had brought that woman home. Did his brother have masochistic tendencies? Slap him and get his interest.
Elias shook his head at the absurd thought.
As no words were said and time ticked by, Elias' thoughts shifted to a disturbing possibility.
Damien had planned something.
She wasn't dead. And Elias had no interest in her.
The thing in her fate now was probably something worse than death.
Elias couldn't help himself and said, despite knowing better. "Damien, don't tell me you want to..." he carefully judged Damien's expression. "That girl just turned eighteen. She is too young and naive. I know she did bad to you, but she is actually a nice girl with a clean past. She doesn't deserve it."
Damien snapped at Elias
"Stop interfering in my private affairs and sort these files for me." Damien pointed at a stack of business files. "I expect it to be done by tonight."
Elias was speechless.
He sighed and gave up the idea of talking sense to his brother. He decided to leave with the stack of files, lest more be thrown in his direction.
Damien was a man of his own will. If he had decided on something, he would do it. No one could change his mind.
But what Damien didn't understand was that matters of the heart were delicate.
Elias could only pray that Damien would not hurt himself in his own game.

That night, the master of the home arrived. As someone who was endlessly busy with stacks of files, he would prefer to stay the night at office most days.
"Mr Blackwell, you have arrived" Harlan was surprised upon his Master's arrival. Nevertheless, he was there immediately to comply with his requests and perform his duties to the fullest.
"Yes," Damien replied as he made his way to his room. Along the way, his eyes kept wandering as if searching for a person. But they didn't find her.
"Where is she?" A cold question. Like always, no unnecessary words, direct to the point. Harlan was used to his master's manner. It was as he expected.
"Sir, it is not yet nine pm. Ms Hart will be in your room at nine pm as you have instructed. However, if you wish, I can call her right now." He responded in a steady manner. Professional expression, no unnecessary prying.
"No need." Daimen waved his hand. "Did she agree to come without any reluctance?" Damien walked to the centre of the room towards the king size bed that adorned the spacious Master bedroom. Taking off his coat, he sat in the middle of it and glanced at Harlan.
"No, Sir. Ms. Hart was reluctant. She requested to skip today however upon my insistence, she acquised."
Daimen interwinked his fingers, rested his elbows over his knees and brought his hands in front of his face. "Oh, did she?" His lips titlted up ever so slightly behind his fists.
Harlan had a temporary lapse of professionalism. He quickly adjusted his expression back to normal. As someone who had been serving Daimen since he was a child, Harlan was aware ins and outs of his master. Even if Daimen revealed very little.
And that smile just now was very sinsiter.
All of sudden, without any words Daimen stood up and marched his way out. While passing by Harlan, he instructed. "If someone asks for me, tell them I'm unavailable for tonight."
Harlan turned to follow but stopped upon finding Damien heads towards certain direction.
Ms. Luna room.
