Not a Saint
The silence was deafening, making me uncomfortable. “if you want to judge me, then please leave.” i threw my face to the other side, not bothering to look at her face.
“you think i would judge you?” the look of disappointment evident on his face.
“well you are not saying anything and…”
“Mika” he called, looking at me with something in his eyes. “i think i care too deeply about you to see you any different that it happened to you. If anything, i am sorry.” i snapped my head up, looking at him to see if i heard him right.
“why?… why would you be sorry?” i sniffed, looking at him with the confusion evident on my face.
“because i was meant to protect you, and i failed in that responsibility”
“Terrovon…” i called, not really knowing what else to say, as i moved into his hug, hugging tightly that i did not want to let go.
“I mean every single word Mika, i would trade that moment for my life in a heart beat if it were possible.” his tight hug was just exactly what i needed, telling me just how much his words meant.
“i would let you to sleep now” he said and suddenly, a wave of exhausion hit me, the weird feeling i had earlier suddenly felt nonexistent
“thank you” i mumbled, appreciating the fact that he was willing to give me space, no matter how i still wanted him close, i felt as though this was something i needed to face on my own.
“anytime” he said, leaning over to kiss me one last time on the forehead before he left me to sleep.
I watched him, my eyes closing on their own accord, before i finally let myself drift off into sleep…
TERROVON’S P.O.V
I bit my lower lips, frustration swelling inside of me as i paced the outside of her room.
“i was so close” i mumbled to myself, the annoyance bubbling at the pits of my stomach not really something i thought i was going to face.
“did it go well?” My father said, coming out from the shadows.
The look on his face already told me that he knew the answer to that qjuestion, yet he expected that i tell him.
“no” i said, the annoyance doubling as i said it out loud.
He snorted, looking at me with a bit of annoyance.
“another failed attempt?”
“Look father i am trying!!” i snapped back, the whole situation starting to get to me more than i cared to admit
I felt her stir in the room so i took in a deep breath, trying as much as possible to reign in my anger.
“i am trying okay? The human is just…”
“you seem to forget that neither I or the other people living on this expelled ground care for what you think, much less that human.” he sneered, taking a step closer to me, in an attempt to seem more intimidating and honestly, in this moment, it was working more than i cared to admit.
“you think i don’t know that?” i whisper yelled this time around. “i don’t need you to tell me what to do, i have it all figured out.”
He gave a mocking scoff, looking at me like i was nothing but a fool and honestly, i felt just like that. “you seem to have forgotten your role. Acting all lovey dovey with the human girl when you are meant to do somthing about.
“Xarion is weak” he said, i gritted my teeth at the stupid name but i kept my mouth sealed. “we need to strike while the iron is still hot so that we can reclaim our land, but what do i find you doing?”
“as i said father, i know what i am doing!”
“or do you? Because it sure does not feel like it!! i am tired of staying on a wretched no man’s land when my home awaits me!” his were already turning red from the anger.
“well did you know that inside there is Xarion’s mate? She is fertile father” i watched his eyes widened as he understood what i was trying to say. “imagine the power we would hold over that bastard if we make his mate carry my offspring and send her back to him to raise our child”
I could see the small smile starting to spread across his face, looking at me like i had given him pure gold or something.
“good, good” the meniac smile on his face ever increasing. “so how long are we to wait then?” the expectant look on his face made me understand that he wanted it done immediately. If anything, he would love it done and gotten over immediately.
“good things take time father, i assume you know that” i said, suddenly having the upper hand in the conversation.
“don’t take to long then” he said, the smile on his face suddenly disappearing in an instant. “from now till fortnight” he said, looking me dead in the eye. “no matter how good your plan is, that the how long i am willing to give to this plan of yours. After then, the tribe would take matteres into their own hands, so be wise” he said, looking at me one last time before he left.
I took in a deep breath, trying to calm my self down a bit.
“fucking hell!!!!!” i yelled, slamming my fist into the wall.
It shook, but it was not enough to calm my anger. “i was so close” i growled out, looking at the door as though i could see Mika through it.
“i am really sorry that you get to be in the middle of all of this, but Darius has to fucking pay for taking everything away from me, and he would definitely see the pain of taking ones mate away from them” i huffed, taking my hands away from the wall, and letting out a deep breath…
“you are going to fucking pay Darius…”
