Chapter 51

Chapter 51
I stood at the doorway for a while before he noticed me.
The light in the bedroom was low, golden, and quiet, like the house itself was holding its breath. Jackson was half-sitting against the headboard, barefoot and relaxed, a book resting open on his chest. His hair was still damp from the shower. He hadn’t heard me come in.
I wasn’t nervous.
That surprised me most of all.
I wasn’t afraid—not of him, not of the quiet, not of the skin I had never wanted anyone to see and now wanted nothing more than for him to touch.
I took one step forward. Jackson looked up.
The moment his eyes met mine, the air shifted. Not tense. Just charged.
I wore nothing but a thin sleep shirt and bare legs, and beneath it, nothing at all. I didn’t cross my arms. I didn’t flinch.
“I want this,” I said. My voice didn’t shake. “I want you.”
He blinked once, as if he needed a heartbeat to absorb it. Then he moved slowly, marking each motion with care, setting the book aside and rising to his feet.
“Are you sure?” he asked.
“I’ve never been more sure.”

He came to me like I was something fragile, but not because he thought I’d break.
Because he didn’t want to rush what was already sacred.
His hands didn’t go for the hem of my shirt—not yet. They started at my jaw, thumb stroking my cheek like he needed to memorize the shape of me. His lips met mine gently. Once. Then again, deeper.
When his fingers finally dipped under the fabric, he didn’t push. He unfolded me. Slowly. Reverently.
The sleep shirt lifted over my head, and I stood bare in front of him—exposed, unhidden, and for the first time in my life, not reduced by it.
Jackson didn’t speak. He looked.
And I didn’t shrink.
He kissed the line of my collarbone like it deserved reverence. Then lower, to the soft curve beneath my breast, his breath warm and steady against my skin. He touched me like every inch of me was worthy. Like he had all the time in the world.
He didn’t reach for more. Not right away.
Instead, he led me to the bed, his hand warm at the small of my back.

I lay down because I wanted to. I opened up to Jackson because I chose to.
He followed me slowly, hovering above without pressing in, his weight a comfort and a promise.
He kissed along my ribs, the inside of my elbow, my hipbone, pausing each time like he wanted me to feel what he was saying without words.
I arched into his mouth when it found my breast, his hand cupping the other with such tenderness that I nearly forgot to breathe. I gasped softly, threading my fingers into his hair, and he groaned against my skin.
“You’re beautiful,” he murmured, voice low and wrecked. “You have no idea.”
He kissed lower, past my stomach, his fingers trailing in slow circles across my thighs. I opened to him without needing to be coaxed.
Not because I had something to prove.
Because I wanted him there.
And when his mouth found the center of me, I let go.
He worshipped me like it was the only thing he wanted in the world—to know every sound I made, every breath that caught, every part of me I thought was too much.
I came with his name on my lips and his hands holding me steady.

After that, he didn’t climb over me right away. He curled beside me, our bodies still bare, his eyes searching mine like he needed to make sure I was still with him.
I was.
More than I had ever been before.
He kissed my shoulder. “Still okay?”
I cupped his face. “I’ve never felt safer.”
Jackson exhaled like he’d been holding that answer inside him.
When he finally moved between my thighs, everything in me stilled—not with fear, but with anticipation.
He braced himself above me, one hand steadying my cheek, his eyes locked on mine like I was something holy.
“Are you ready?” he asked.
“Yes,” I breathed. “I want to feel all of you.”
His fingers stroked gently down my side, and then I felt him, not pressing in all at once, but easing forward, inch by inch, like he didn’t want to take anything I wasn’t offering.
The stretch caught me off guard—not painful, not too much, just full.
My breath hitched.
My body opened slowly around him, and I could feel every part of him sliding into me, thick, warm, deliberate. There was no hurry. Just pressure and heat and the deep, aching pleasure of being filled for the first time by someone who saw all of me and still wanted to stay.
He sank deeper, and I moaned softly—not from surprise, but from the way it felt to be wanted this way. To feel him inside me, moving slow, waiting for my body to meet his—not forcing, never forcing—just choosing.
When he was fully seated inside me, our hips flush, I let out a trembling exhale and wrapped my legs around his waist.
“I didn’t know it could feel like this,” I whispered. “So good. So safe.”
Jackson’s voice broke as he replied, “You feel like home.”
He began to move—slow, deep rolls of his hips, like he was learning the rhythm of my breath. The friction lit me from the inside, a pulse of want and reverence that built with each stroke.
I clung to his shoulders, gasping as he thrust again, measured, controlled, every motion made to feel, not conquer.
He filled me completely, again and again, each movement drawing a new sound from my lips—small, breathless, amazed.
Not once did he break eye contact.
Not once did I look away.
And when I came again, with him deep inside me, I wasn’t quiet.
I wanted him to know what it felt like to be touched with care.

After that, I didn’t turn away. Jackson held me chest to chest, one hand smoothing over my spine, the other resting in my hair like it anchored him there.
I pressed my face against his neck and whispered, “I didn’t know it could feel like that.”
Jackson kissed my forehead. “That’s because no one ever gave you enough time.”
We didn’t say anything else. We didn’t need to. Jackson didn’t just touch my body. He touched every part of me I thought I’d lost—and gave it back, one breath at a time.
