Shadows clan
"A witch! She is a witch!" Jecinta yelled and jumped up immediately, the other ladies looked at me, shock and confusion was written all over their faces.
The commotion in the room escalated as flames danced around me, fueled by my unexpected reaction.
The ladies were in a state of shock, and most of them pointed their fingers at me, calling me an evil witch.
I knew that I must get it under control, or else my plan for revenge would be useless. So I desperately tried to explain, "It's not what you think! It must be some kind of prank, I didn't mean to..."
But they weren't ready to listen. Fear and suspicion clouded their judgment, and even the two ladies who had first welcomed me were also scared.
"We have to get the Alpha, only he can protect us!" One of the ladies who I later learned that her name was Anita cried out.
The room filled with tension, and it felt like the situation was spiraling out of control.
Mia kept staring at me, and all the ladies moved closer to me, their eyes burning in fear.
"We have to kill her now!" Anita yelled and the other ladies growled at me.
I can easily handle them, but if I kill anyone, then my revenge plan is over. I needed to think fast, but my brain was unable to process everything that was happening.
Just when it seemed like things couldn't get any worse, the door swung open, and a beautiful lady entered the room. She was surprised to see that everyone was growling at me, and she immediately ran to my side.
"What is going on here? What are you guys doing?" She yelled at them.
"Flora! She is a witch, get away from her!" Hazel, another girl, replied.
Author POV
Flora is Lanky's girlfriend. She is known for her calm and level-headed nature, and she has always been a voice of reason among the group. She is best friends with Mia, and that is because they are both cool-headed.
Also, they are sisters-in-law. Desmond Mia's husband Flora are cousins.
….
Flora stepped forward, her presence commanding attention. "Everyone, calm down!" she urged, her voice firm but reassuring.
"Let's give her a chance to explain, we can't just blame her."
"Blame her!?" One of the ladies scoffed. "You don't know what you are saying! We saw her when she breathed our fire! We aren't accusing her falsely. What type of werewolf does that!?" Juliet, one of the girls who had welcomed me with a smile asked furiously.
"Still, let's hear her side of the story, perhaps she is here to assist us!" Flora said with a gentle voice.
I planned to seize the opportunity, and I began to form an emotional story in my mind.
The room fell into an uneasy silence as Flora's words resonated with the ladies. They respected her opinion and began to lower their accusing fingers.
I took a deep breath and acted like I was still recovering from the pain of the unexpected claw attack.
"Thank you, hmmm, Flora," I said, although I don't like to appreciate people, I still saw the need to thank her because she saved my plan.
"I didn't mean to harm anyone. It was a reflex, a defense mechanism. I was about to tell Mia something important. The truth is….." I paused and broke down into crocodile tears.
Mia, who had been anxiously waiting, now looked at me with a mix of curiosity and concern. "Tell me what is it? And why did you mention my husband's name? Do you two know each other?" she asked, her eyes searching mine.
Before I could answer, Flora interjected, "Hold on a moment. We need to find out who attacked her and why?" She examined the claw mark on my shoulder and recognized the design.
"I don't see why we need to find out, at least she also attacked us!" Jecinta said, and frowned. It was obvious that she was trying to protect someone.
"No, Jecinta. By the way, do you know the person that was attacked?" Flora asked with a raised brow.
"No, I don't," Jecinta replied, Flora knew that she was lying. But she decided to ignore her.
"Look," I said and brought out a knife from under my dress. The knife was designed with different colors of rubies.
"This is a weapon from the Shadow Clan. They're known for their sneaky tactics and hidden agendas. What are you doing with it?" Flora asked, I was surprised. Dragoni gave it to me, I don't even know anything about the Shadow clan, nor have I heard about them before.
"Hmm, well, they attacked me, and they were with a witch. So I had to fight back, and accidentally, I attacked the witch, she was angry and cursed me that I would breathe out fire for a week!" I said the first lie that came to my mind.
The ladies in the room exchanged worried glances, even Jecinta looked surprised.
The Shadow Clan was notorious for their involvement in shady dealings and their willingness to harm others to achieve their goals.
"Are you sure that they were the shadow clan? Because our Alpha has made an agreement with them," Juliet asked, looking concerned.
I nodded, "Yes, I also dragged the knife from one of the Shadow Clan pack members. But I think they are after something."
Mia was still waiting for an explanation. "Something? What kind of thing? Also, how is it connected to my husband?" She asked anxiously.
I hesitated because I didn't know what to say. "Mia, I think they want your husband, they must be connected somehow, I even heard when one of the men mentioned how desperate their Alpha was to have him."
The room was filled with a mix of confusion and anticipation. Mia's eyes widened as she tried to process what I had just revealed. "Their Alpha? What are you talking about?"
Suddenly, the door was pushed open, and Desmond, Mia's husband entered. He had an aura of authority and power that commanded immediate respect. He looked at me, his expression was that of anger.
"What's going on here, newcomer? And why are you causing trouble?" He asked.
I was shocked, and my palms immediately turned wet.
I took a deep breath and turned to face the other ladies.
Mia looked anxious, I guess she was about to tell her husband what I had just told her.
Before she could open her mouth, I came up with a lie. "Desmond, a witch cursed me, I'm not here to cause trouble. I'm here because... I need help."
The room fell into silence.
"What do you mean by a witch cursing you?" He asked with furrowed eyebrows. "I knew there was something suspicious about you!" He said without giving me a chance to talk.
"Listen to her, it is connected to you!" Mia said, her voice was filled with so much emotion.
"Connected to me? What do you mean?" He asked and faced his wife. Her eyes were clouded with tears.
"Baby, are you crying?" He asked gently and cupped her cheeks.
I couldn't believe that the strong and cruel Desmond would be such a caring and loving husband.
"Well—"
"Well, nothing!" I interrupted her sentence. If she talks about the stupid connection I had said, it would complicate the matter.
The ladies were surprised, but I secretly winked at them, telling them to keep it a secret.
Desmond was all over his wife and he wasn't able to see my little action.
"What were you about to say, love?" He asked, concerned.
"It's…" Mia kept quiet, I guess she didn't want to lie to her husband.
"It's nothing brother Desmond, my sister is just stressed out. I think she needs to rest," Jecinta lied, and gently placed her hand on Mia's shoulder
Desmond nodded, and he gently carried Mia out of the room.
Mabel's face turned pale as the room fell into a heavy silence. Her aggression had led to this unexpected revelation, and the weight of her actions hung heavily in the air.
Jecinta, who had been lying about not knowing the person that attacked confessed that it was Mabel who attacked.
Flora turned her attention to Mabel, disbelief, and disappointment etched across her face. "Mabel, is this true? Did you attack Nima?"
Mabel, unable to meet Flora's gaze, nodded reluctantly. "I... I thought she was a threat to my brother. Also, she attacked me first."
Flora stepped forward, her calm demeanor unwavering. "Mabel, we need to get to the bottom of this. Are you part of the Shadow Clan?"
Mabel looked shocked, she sighed
deeply, as if releasing a heavy burden. "Of course not! I am forever loyal to my brother!"
"I trust you!" Hazel smiled at her.
"But, why didn't you tell Desmond about his connection with the Shadows clan?" Juliet asked curiously.
"It is simple! If he knows, he might become alert, and he will surely inform Alpha Alexander, once he is informed a war might break out between the two packs. And a lot of lives will be lost," I said with a sad voice, and the ladies immediately agreed.
"My eyes are still on you, and I will inform my elder sisters about the way you mistreated me!" Mabel said and walked out of the room.
"Are you sure that Mia would not inform Desmond?" I asked worriedly.
"She won't, I told her to keep it a secret!" Jecinta replied and smiled. "I am on your side, but if you dare hurt any of my siblings, I will hunt you down!" She threatened me before leaving the room.
