chapter 89 A Bastard

chapter 89 A Bastard
Eli's POV:

"Why?" I looked at Jordan angrily. "Why should I leave the family! I won't go!"

I was also his son. How could he so ruthlessly drive me out of the country!

Jordan slowly straightened up, revealing the authority belonging to the Don of the Martinez family.

"You committed the grave sin of splitting the family! I didn't kill you only because you're my son!"

The grave sin of splitting the family?

I watched him pompously make up reasons and found it utterly ridiculous.

Jordan couldn't see when Christian and Henry schemed against me, but when I just fought back, it became splitting the family?

"When Christian targeted me and tried to assassinate me, wasn't that targeting the family? Why don't you kick him out of the family too?"

Even though I had long known how biased Jordan was, I still felt chilled to the bone.

I should have realized long ago that in this father's eyes, nothing compared to Christian. He only had that bastard in his heart!

"Christian is the underboss. His decisions represent the family."

Jordan said calmly.

Fuck the underboss, fuck the family decisions!

Jordan's heart was completely biased. Even if Christian set fire to the Martinez family villa, he would probably say it was well done!

He didn't care whether I lived or died at all.

My chest heaved violently as I stared at him. "Why are you so biased! We're both your children! He's just a bastard!"

What I asked for was simple, even just one chance for fair competition!

"I'm very fair!" Jordan shouted back at me, his face red with anger. "If your grandfather hadn't forced me to marry your mother, I would have married Anna long ago! She could only be my mistress!"

Jordan paced angrily in the study, venting his dissatisfaction.

"If your mother hadn't insisted I accompany her on that trip, how could I have missed Anna's final moments and let her die in childbirth!"

Jordan stared at me with hatred, as if all the tragedy was caused by my mother.

I found it both ridiculous and infuriating!

Was my mother really the cause of all this? No! The person who caused all the tragedy was clearly him!

I glared back without backing down, my heart full of disappointment.

After all these years, this man was still so hypocritical!

My hands clenched into tight fists. I wanted to punch his face hard and shatter his disgusting victim facade!

What right did he have to blame my mother?!

"How could you face my mother? Did she hold a gun to force you to marry her? Did she put butter on your penis to lubricate it into her vagina?"

After all that talk, he just wanted both power and so-called love. After marrying my mother, he pushed all responsibility onto her while enjoying all the benefits himself!

This coward! This hypocritical man!

Slap!

Jordan, hit in his sore spot, furiously slapped me across the face.

He roared angrily, "You beast who doesn't even respect your father! Tomorrow I'll have someone escort you onto a plane. You're never allowed to return to the Martinez family! Even when I die, you're not allowed to attend my funeral! From today on, I'll consider you dead."

Jordan's expression grew colder and colder, looking at me as if I were an enemy.

"We're cutting ties. This is only because you have my blood in your veins."

Genesis's POV:

Standing outside the door, I heard this shocking secret and felt chilled to the bone.

I never imagined Eli's background would be like this! He and Christian didn't have the same mother!

Looking at Eli's wounded figure, I pressed my lips together and lowered my eyes.

He must be in great pain right now, right?

Soon after, Eli walked out with a wooden expression, his cheek visibly red and swollen.

I quickly walked over and asked quietly, "Are you okay?"

Eli looked at me silently without saying anything, just taking my hand.

I didn't resist, letting him pull me to his room.

After entering the room, Eli went to the bathroom to wash his face, but I quickly stopped him.

"Your wounds... better not get them wet yet." I looked around. "Where's the first aid kit? Let me apply medicine for you first."

Eli shook his head and said quietly, "No need."

I wanted to say more, but he suddenly hugged me and placed me on the sink counter.

I frantically grabbed his shoulders, but he leaned down and buried his head in my neck.

My spine stiffened for a moment, and I sighed silently.

After witnessing that argument between him and Jordan, I really couldn't push him away.

I hesitantly reached out and patted his back.

Eli spoke in a muffled voice, "When I was little, I never understood why father liked my brother more."

His voice was full of irony. I could even imagine how much effort he must have made to please his father.

"After I learned the truth, I kept trying to perform better, to prove I was more excellent than Christian. But what happened?"

Eli laughed self-mockingly, his eyes devoid of emotion.

"Jordan warned me more than once to just be a lieutenant supporting Christian and not to covet things I shouldn't have."

That must have been when Eli completely lost hope in Jordan.

Eli breathed painfully. I had never seen him so emotionally low.

"My mother died too early. I never felt a mother's love. Even my father..."

I patted his back. I didn't know how to comfort him. He calmed down for a while, then straightened up.

"Were you scared by me just now? Do you think I was too cruel to Christian and Jordan?"

His gray-blue eyes stared at me intently, as if waiting for my judgment.

"No." I shook my head. "If I were you, I would have done the same."

I couldn't even guarantee that if I were in Eli's position, I would have been more rational or done better than him.

Thinking about it now, he might be the one suffering the most.

Eli reached out to hug me, his strong arms unusually tender.

He lowered his head and kissed the top of my head.

I felt the gentle pressure and pressed my lips together.

"Jordan will definitely force me out of the country tomorrow." Speaking of Jordan, Eli's face was full of disdain and mockery. "Fortunately, I've long prepared an escape route and arranged everything."

Seeing his relaxed tone, my heart also relaxed somewhat.

"That's great!" I was genuinely happy for him and for myself. "I believe you can definitely achieve your goals!"

Eli gazed at me and said gently, "Since you believe in me so much, come with me."

I suddenly looked up, staring at him in shock.
