Chapter 79 Exam
Genesis's POV:
I couldn't stop trembling, my mind replaying scenes of Eli casually killing people. He hated betrayal the most and would never forgive me!
I didn't want to die!
My hands and feet shaking, I grabbed Eli's wrist, my eyes filled with tears.
[I'm sorry, I was wrong!] Tears slid down from the corners of my eyes as I slowly signed. [Please spare me, I'll never dare again!]
Seeing me beg for mercy, Eli got even angrier.
He rudely pushed my hands away, letting me fall to the ground.
Walker and the others looked at me with hostility. I believed that as soon as Eli spoke, they would rush over without hesitation to tear me apart completely!
Eli irritably wheeled around in circles twice before finally stopping in front of me.
He lowered his head, his eyes full of suppressed fury. "Why did you report me to the FBI?"
Report to the FBI?
My panic came to an abrupt halt as I looked at Eli in complete bewilderment.
He was talking about reporting to the FBI? Not that video?
"You reported me just to be with Forth?" His eyes were full of mockery. "No wonder before leaving that day... you really made quite a sacrifice!"
He didn't say the most crucial sentence, but I understood his meaning.
Thinking of how unusually proactive I was that day, Eli must have misunderstood!
I bit my lower lip hard, constantly thinking of ways to explain.
Although it wasn't about the video being discovered, if I couldn't give a reasonable explanation for the reporting incident, the consequences would be equally unthinkable!
Eli obviously thought I was accepting his accusation.

Eli's grip loosened a few degrees. His probing gaze kept moving across my face, as if considering whether what I said was true.
[I didn't switch that shipment. You know I don't have that ability. I just didn't tell you after overhearing Christian's plan. I was just too scared!]
[My report didn't affect you, did it? It even helped you. Otherwise, once you reached the southern battlefield, you wouldn't have had a chance.]
Eli obviously thought of this point too. He laughed angrily.
"You mean I should thank you?" Eli irritably put away his gun and gripped my face hard to question me.
The place where he gripped my face hurt, but I breathed a sigh of relief.
Based on my understanding of Eli, since he had already put away his gun, it meant he at least didn't plan to take my life.

"Genesis, do you know why you were exposed?"

Eli brought me back to the hospital.
